Deadeye PvP Guide

Introduction

The Deadeye is Lost Ark's first traditional gunner class. Compared to his female counterpart, most of his strengths come from Enforce Execution for engages and protection. Other than that they play similarly. His unique Identity allows him to swap between three guns, giving him a wide range of tools to deal with many situations. Pistol skills are used for mobility and engagement, Shotgun for damage and Sniper for picks.

In PvP, the Deadeye revolves around quick catches with his Sniper and Pistol combo. The ability to dance around the arena with lethal skills gives him a high ranking on the PvP tier list. Enforce Execution and Aimed Shot are his signature moves. If played well, this class is a strong carry that is hard to stop.

This article assumes you have a Character with a minimum level of 26 before transitioning to it. Check out the Deadeye Leveling and 1-50 Leveling guides to reach Level 26.

Core Skills

  • Spiral Tracker is your combo extender and debuff skill. Use it before your high damage skills.
  • AT02 Grenade is your main crowd control skill and combo extender. Use it to catch falling opponents before they hit the ground to follow up with more damage.
  • Enforce Execution is one of your main engage tools. Push Immunity and the kick on this skill makes this one of your best melee skills.
  • Somersault Shot is your main mobility skill with Push Immunity on the Tier 3 Tripod. Use it to get around the arena and into advantageous positions. This skill can also be used as a combo extender by dashing over opponents.
  • Equilibrium is a combo extender with additional damage.
  • Death Fire is a great Push Immunity skill if you channel the full duration. You can also use this skill purely for movement, as tapping the skill sends you forward without having to go through the whole shooting animation.
  • Dexterous Shot is another mobility skill that can be used as an engage skill as well.
  • Quick Shot is your main combo extender. You would usually use after catching someone with Dexterous Shot or Death Fire. You can delay the second shot to get closer if needed.
  • Last Request is your main damaging skill.
  • Hour of Judgment is a long range Shotgun damage skill used as filler for additional damage.
  • Shotgun Rapid Fire is mainly used for extra damage or some protection.
  • Shotgun Dominator is a filler skill to Knock Down opponents if needed.
  • Spiral Flame is a good skill for picking off opponents. It can also be used for a Knock Up after hitting with Perfect Shot.
  • Aimed Shot is your main Sniper skill for engagements. Hitting an opponent with the last bullet allows you to follow up with other damaging skills. Try to aim away from opponents before quickly spinning to them on the last shot to catch them by surprise.
  • Perfect Shot is a high damage and Knock Down skill. With Perfect Aim, you can cancel the shot before it fully charges without putting it on Cooldown. The laser sight is great for zoning and playing mind games before canceling. If you intend to hit a target, you can hide the laser sight by aiming backwards or to the side before quickly spinning to your target.
  • Clay Bombardment is your main Awakening skill. This is preferred over Bursting Flare as it does more damage. Both skills can be followed up from a AT02 Grenade.

PvP Builds

Team Deathmatch (3v3)

Combat Stats

  • 750 Swiftness, 1 Critical and 249 Domination for more damage.

Alternatives

  • Could max out Perfect Shot for more damage, but you lose out on the flexbility of aiming and shooting.
  • Swift Fingers can also be used on Spiral Tracker.

Short Ground Combo

  1. Engage with Death Fire or Dexterous Shot.
  2. Follow with Quick Shot or AT02 Grenade.
  3. Finish with Last Request or Catastrophe.

Short Juggle Combo

  1. Kick with Enforce Execution.
  2. Follow with AT02 Grenade (you can include Spiral Tracker for more damage.
  3. Finish with Last Request or Catastrophe.

Extended Combo

  1. Engage with Death Fire or Dexterous Shot.
  2. Follow with Quick Shot.
  3. Use Last Request or Catastrophe.
  4. Hit AT02 Grenade as they fall down, then follow with Spiral Tracker.
  5. Finish with Last Request, Catastrophe or any damaging skill.
  6. Note: starting with Catastrophe can sometimes overcap damage and mess up the combo.

Long Range Sniper Combo

  1. Engage with Aimed Shot.
  2. Finish with Spiral Flame or Perfect Shot
  3. Note you can follow up with a combo off the stun.

Gameplay

  • Understanding FoV and how to abuse it is what separates the good Deadeyes from the bad ones. Keeping your opponents to the left and right of your screen greatly increases your chances of catching opponents with your sniper skills.
  • When the match starts, you can rush forward with Somersault Shot, into Death Fire or Tumbling to try to get picks with Spiral Flame, Aimed Shot, and Perfect Shot.
  • Connecting AT02 Grenade can lead to Clay Bombardment.
Island PvP & 1v1

Combat Stats

  • 750 Swiftness, 1 Critical and 249 Domination

Alternatives

  • Could max out Perfect Shot for more damage over Catastrophe.

Gameplay

  • In 1v1 variant, skills and playstyle are similar to 3v3.
  • Look for engagements with Enforce Execution, Death Fire and Dexterous Shot.
  • Mobility skills can be used to back away from your opponent to fire Sniper skills.

  1. Engage with Death Fire or Dexterous Shot.
  2. Follow with Quick Shot or AT02 Grenade.
  3. Finish with Last Request or Catastrophe.

Gameplay

GvG is more chaotic than Arena battles, so you rarely have the opportunity to do long combos. This mode is more about zoning/interrupting objectives and assisting allies. Do your best to coordinate with your team and stick together. Refer to 3v3 section for more gameplay tips.

There are no actual combos listed here compare to the other PvP builds because the build is built around zoning/interrupting objectives and mostly assisting allies. Since there will be more than 8 enemies on the field, it'll be really hard to pull off a long combo with many spells and attacks being unleash on the field.

Basically, use the skills base on the situations. Holy Land, can be use for annoying enemies on the objectives as it can prevent enemies from trying to capture the objectives by interrupting the capturing animation from the damage ticks that the ground effect does, and it helps in mass fights were the enemies can't stand on top of your allies for more than 3 ticks before they get stun by the skill.

GvG can be a lot more chaotic than Arenas as theres more than 3 opponents rushing into the fight, Paladin's role usually be sticking close to the backlines or allies immobile range classes to assist them if they get group on, while also play around from their range since the build is kitted with more range skills than Arena builds.

GvG Engraving

Priority

  • Heavy Armor Equipment-engraving] level 3 increases all defense for higher survivability. Moreover, armor shredding debuffs doesn't affect the bonus defense increase effect from the engraving.
  • Spirit Absorption increases attack speed and movement speed by a significant amount at level3 engraving effect which will help with positioning and getting skills cast out quicker.
  • Judgment level 1 increases duration of Sacred Executioner by 100% to 40 seconds. Additionally increases sword skills damage and identity gauge gain rate.

Additional Choices

  • Cursed Doll since Cursed Doll doesn't affect a player character, this is the next best engraving for damage increase in general. Furthermore, Island PvP disables consumables so the penalty isn't too penalizing and GvGs consumables are very limited as well which eventually player will run out consumables quick as well.
  • Divine Protection, Fortitude and Strong Will these are the engravings to stack for maximum defenses.
  • Raid Captain is also another good damage engraving option for Island PvP and GvGs since players will be stacking high Swiftness stats for having fast animation casting speed and general movespeed as well as more cooldown reductions then stacking with Spirit Absorption will max out 140% movesment speed cap which will grant the max 18% damage increase from Raid Captain.
  • Champion's Tenacity Island PvP with disabled consumables and the very limited amount of consumables in GvGs means a lot of the time the player spent being damaged and unable to heal up, so this engraving will help give some boost to damage while the player is below 50% health pool.
  • Shield Piercing self-explanatory; usually well coordinated guilds will stack lots of classes that has team shield or personal shields, this engraving will help a little from shield stack pushes.
