With the Patch 2.6 ranged weapon Enchant buff, there is a new insane Fire build in town. While this Sorceress build has always existed to some extent, it has never been THIS strong. The Enchant Sorceress (aka Enchantress) uses Demon Machine to melt her enemies with powerful, piercing projectiles. Farming Spots such as The Secret Cow Level and Stony Tomb are left completely scorched by her Enchant imbued Attack, even in High Player Count! With Flame Rift, Flickering Flame, and Infinity no area is off-limits. Everything burns!
Enchant Sorceress is also one of the most iconic support builds. A high Skill Level Enchant enables brand new Characters to fast-level with Raven Claw for its missile Area of Effect (AoE). Make public leveling games with The Secret Cow Level portal open and use Enchant on anyone that enters. Enchant can also make other melee or ranged Physical builds (such as Frenzy Barbarian, Zeal Paladin, Strafe Amazon, and Multiple Shot Amazon) crazy strong. The massive amount of Fire Damage it adds to a Mercenary's weapon has interesting applications as well (see the "Nova Enchant" Build Variant). There are several fun and effective ways to incorporate Enchant into a build. Try them all if you can!

Sunder Charm Setup
The Sunder Charm Setup is the same as the Standard Build, using Flame Rift to farm anywhere in the game. It increases your damage against Fire Immune monsters. To optimize this Sunder Charm you need as much -% Enemy Fire Resistance as possible. Socketing Fire Rainbow Facets into your gear, equipping Flickering Flame, and equipping Infinity on the Mercenary also accomplishes this. Flickering Flame alone counters the negative effect of Flame Rift.
Terror Zones
The new Terror Zone mechanic combined with Sunder Charms open up a wide range of farmable areas. The following list highlights the best and worst Terror Zones for this build. With the Sunder Charm Setup, more Terror Zones become accessible. Learn more about Terror Zones here and see how they stack up in our Terror Zone Tier List.

Damage
Attack* is your Primary Damage Skill. It applies the Fire Damage granted by Enchant. Attack applies the full measure of Enchant's Fire Damage to Demon Machine's explosive bolts, resulting in high Area of Effect (AoE) damage.
Static Field* is best used against Bosses and other high Life monsters (such as in High Player Count). Each cast uses Lightning Damage to lower nearby monster Life by 25% of their remaining Life. This Skill can reduce monsters' Life to 1 in Normal, 33% of total Life in Nightmare, and 50% in Hell.
Enchant* temporarily grants on-hit Fire Damage and Attack Rating to a target Character (including your own), Mercenary, or minion. Use it on yourself to apply these buffs to your ranged Attacks with Demon Machine. Enchant only applies to melee or ranged Physical attacks.
Fire Mastery* passively boosts the Fire Damage granted by Enchant.
Teleport* is an essential Sorceress Skill used for mobility. It repositions your Character and Mercenary to your cursor's position. Repeatedly cast it to cover long distances.
Telekinesis* allows you to use a Waypoint, enter a Portal, or pick up utility items (Potions, Scrolls, or Gold) from a distance. Maxing this Skill on this build boosts the effectiveness of Energy Shield.
Energy Shield* is a temporary buff that redirects damage to your Mana pool instead of your Life (except Poison). While active, a percentage (based on this Skill's Level) of all received Damage results in a loss of Mana. Resistances do not apply to damage taken on Energy Shield. If you have 0 Mana in your Mana pool and receive additional damage, this buff expires and needs to be recast.
Chilling armor* increases your Defense rating and sends out Ice Bolts in response to ranged attacks.
Warmth* provides you with passive Mana Regeneration based on its Skill Level.
Note: This section provides you with the standard Stat Point allocation. Build Variants may require different allocations!
Strength
Allocate enough Stat Points into Strength to equip all of your gear. Take into account how much Strength your gear provides when equipped.
Dexterity
Allocate enough Stat Points into Dexterity to equip all of your gear. Take into account how much Dexterity your gear provides when equipped.
Vitality
Since this build heavily relies upon Energy Shield for survivability, at most allocate 100 Stat Points into Vitality.
Energy
Allocate any remaining Stat Points into Energy to fully utilize Energy Shield, which requires large amounts of Mana.

Gear Notes: Any Items with specialized or niche uses have a superscript that refers here. 1) Items that grant +x to Skills/Fire Skills and/or +x% to Fire Skill Damage are equipped prior to casting Enchant to maximize its granted on-hit Fire Damage. (see the "Starter Support" and "Max Enchant" Build Variants). 2) Memory can be used to pre-buff Energy Shield to make the Enchant Sorceress tankier.

Farming Spots
The areas below are efficient farming locations that make use of the build’s strengths. Other farming spots might not be as effective due to Immunities or bad layouts.
Your Mercenary serves an incredibly important role to the overall success of your build. They can be a front line tank, provide a pivotal Aura, and/or deal Physical Damage to kill enemies with Immunity to your Skill set.
Act 2 Desert Mercenary
The Act 2 Desert Mercenary is hired from Greiz. He can be equipped with a Spear or a Polearm, a Body Armor and a Helmet. Every Act 2 Mercenary has access to an Aura and uses Jab as his base Attack. The Aura activates once the Mercenary has engaged in combat and remains active between traveling to and from town. The Auras available are based on what difficulty you hire the Mercenary from.
Holy Freeze Infinity
Holy Freeze Infinity
Infinity, Holy Freeze
Use a Desert Mercenary with Holy Freeze Aura for its powerful Crowd Control. A Mercenary with Might Aura isn’t used since the Enchant Sorceress doesn't benefit much from the Physical Damage increase it provides. Equip him with Infinity to reduce enemy Resistances with its Conviction Aura, drastically boosting damage. This Aura is also capable of breaking some Immunities, including Fire.
Mercenary Gear Options
Your Mercenary needs maximum Resistances, Life Leech, a high damage Weapon, and high Defense and/or Damage Reduction to stay alive reliably. Cannot Be Frozen is also a great stat for maintaining Mercenary DPS and leech. Ethereal gear is preferred since it doesn't lose durability. Gear Options at each Gear Level perform equally well in different situations; choose based on Farming Spots and/or personal preference.

The Mercenary is hard to keep alive until you have the minimum gear recommended in this guide. Remember you can drag Healing Potions onto the portrait, or shift + 1/2/3/4 to directly feed them a Healing Potion from your Belt. The Mercenary also gains bonus Resistances from Thawing Potions and Antidote Potions.
If your Mercenary dies in battle, you can revive them from any of the Mercenary NPCs in each Act. This does come with an increasing cost, capping at 50,000 Gold. Keep that in mind and decide if the Mercenary is currently worth the cost.
Playstyle
General
Cast Telekinesis on Waypoints to activate them, on Town Portals to get in or out of town, and on Red Portals to go through them. This allows you to travel through the game faster. Telekinesis can also be used to open chests and pop other clickables for loot.
Before starting your Magic Find/Experience run, and while on your + to Skills Weapon-Swap, cast Chilling Armor and Energy Shield. Then cast Enchant on both your Sorceress and your Mercenary (and on any melee or ranged Party members, Mercenaries, and/or minions if applicable). Refresh these buffs as soon as they expire.
While still on your Faster Cast Rate-granting Weapon-Swap, Teleport to travel to your Farming Spot or between Elite Packs. Reposition with Teleport when necessary (such as being surrounded on multiple sides by monsters).
Upon encountering an Elite Pack, swap to Demon Machine and use Attack just outside the monsters' range.
Upon clearing all Elites and their minions in the immediate area, swap back to your Weapon-Swap and cast Teleport until you encounter another Elite Pack.
Pre-buff/Support:
Equip items granting +x to Skills/Fire Skills and/or x% to Fire Skill Damage (see the "Starter Support" and "Max Enchant" Build Variants) before casting Enchant on yourself, your Mercenary, and/or other Party members or minions. Re-equip your Bow Enchant Sorceress gear after.
If playing a Support Enchant Sorceress, make public leveling games with The Secret Cow Level portal open and use Enchant on anyone that enters.
Immunities
Flame Rift sets all Immune to Fire monsters to 95% Fire Resistance, allowing any sources of -x% to Enemy Fire Resistance to take effect (including Lower Resist and Conviction Aura from Infinity at 1/5th effectiveness).
When encountering Fire Immune monsters with high Life (such as in High Player Count), first cast Static Field 1-3 times at close range on your Weapon-Swap with more Faster Cast Rate. and then finish the mobs off with Enchant imbued Attack on your main setup.
If not using Flame Rift, skip mobs that are still Fire Immune even after applying Conviction Aura from Infinity.
Late-Game
Swap to Call to Arms and cast Battle Command 2 times and Battle Orders once.
Position your Mercenary with Teleport so that the Conviction Aura from Infinity is applied to target mobs.
Breakpoints
Breakpoints in Diablo 2 are the minimum values required to reduce the frames of an action. Below are the important breakpoints considered for this build. For more information on the mechanics involved, check out our in-depth Resource: Breakpoints.
Faster Cast Rate (FCR)
Faster Cast Rate speeds up your casting animation for spells. Aim for the 105% FCR Breakpoint on Weapon-Swap. Note: FCR only controls the animation speed of the Character, and not any internal Cooldowns spells have.

Faster Hit Recovery (FHR)
Faster Hit Recovery is not required for survivability on this build. Early Breakpoints can be utilized, however.
The Enchant Sorceress is Hardcore viable. If you are unaccustomed to this playstyle, we recommend trying this build on Softcore to gain experience on how to successfully pilot it. Beware of going just outside of town on a Support Enchant Sorceress! (easy target for PK)
Use Life + Mana Charms to make yourself as tanky as possible with Energy Shield.
Equip Thundergod's Vigor when farming or Teleporting through an area where Burning Souls are able to spawn such as Worldstone Keep/Throne of Destruction.
Equip your Mercenary with Cure to quickly remove Amplify Damage and Poison Damage with its Cleansing Aura.
Build Variants
Starter Support
Max Enchant
Standard Bow Enchant
Magic Find
Nova Enchant
Setup
The Starter Support Enchant Sorceress achieves a solid mid-level Enchant with easy to acquire gear. It is a buff-only setup that is designed to provide support to newly-made Characters in the beginning of a Ladder. Using Raven Claw for its missile Area of Effect (AoE), new Characters can fast-level while imbued with a strong Enchant. The Starter variant does a decent job of empowering melee and ranged Physical attackers in general. This gear can also be used to pre-buff the offensive Enchant Sorceress builds for a massive damage boost (see the "Standard Bow Enchant" variant and beyond). Items such as Leaf, Enlightenment, Volcanic Circlet, Volcanic Amulet, and other cheap + to Skills gear go a long way in making this build effective.
Mercenary
A Mercenary isn't needed for a Support Enchant Sorceress.
Skills
The Starter Support Enchant Sorceress setup is only concerned with boosting Enchant's on-hit Fire Damage.
Put 1 Skill Point into each of the following Skills: 1. Teleport
Max out the following Skills in this order: 1. Enchant 2. Warmth 3. Fire Mastery
Attributes
Allocate enough Stat Points into Strength and Dexterity to wear all of your gear. Put all remaining Stat Points into Vitality.
Setup
The Max Enchant Sorceress is a Support Enchant Sorceress that reaches the highest Fire Damage possible on Enchant. It is a buff-only setup that provides the maximum possible leveling support for newly-made Characters, maximum damage support for melee and ranged Physical attackers, and maximum pre-buff for offensive Enchant Sorceress builds (see the "Standard Bow Enchant" variant and beyond). +x to Skills/Fire Skills and/or x% to Fire Skill Damage gear such as Volcanic Eldritch Orb, Ormus' Robes, and Bul-Kathos' Wedding Bands make this variant possible. Use an Eschuta's Temper if you cannot acquire something approximating that crazy +6 to Enchant Orb.
Mercenary
A Mercenary isn't needed for a Support Enchant Sorceress.
Skills
The Max Enchant Sorceress setup is only concerned with maximizing Enchant's on-hit Fire Damage.
Setup
This is the Standard Best in Slot (BiS) Enchant Sorceress featured in the beginning of the guide. It is the balanced "jack-of-all-trades" version, capable of performing the most tasks well. Crush both Low and High Player Count alike! This Bow Sorceress carefully balances Damage, Magic Find, Defensive Stats, and Teleport mobility. It also attains 100% Piercing Attack between Razortail and Demon Machine for maximum penetration. Demon Machine is used for its high Attack Speed and Fires Explosive Arrows or Bolts stat (large Area of Effect damage). Flame Rift increases your damage against monsters that are Immune to Fire. This setup reaches the 105% Faster Cast Rate Breakpoint on Weapon-Swap for casting Teleport. See the "Max Enchant" variant for how to pre-buff for maximum damage on the Bow Enchant Sorceress.
Mercenary
The Standard Bow Enchant Sorceress uses an Act 2 MightMercenary with Infinity for -85% to Enemy Fire Resistance from its Conviction Aura. Fortitude and Andariel's Visage socketed with a Ruby Jewel of Fervor maximize this Mercenary's damage and survivability.
Skills
Put 1 Skill Point into each of the following Skills: 1. Teleport 2. Energy Shield (Max Last) 3. Chilling Armor
Put 5-10 Skill Points into this Skill: 1. Static Field
Max out the following Skills in this order: 1. Enchant 2. Warmth 3. Fire Mastery 4. Telekinesis 5. Energy Shield

Use the Scroll Bar to see Skill Point Progression
Attributes
Allocate enough Stat Points into Strength and Dexterity to wear all of your gear. Then, put a maximum of 100 Stat Points into Vitality. Finally, allocate all remaining Stat Points into Energy for a strong Energy Shield.
Setup
The Magic Find variant is the Bow Enchant Sorceress but with more Magic Find! Since the Bow Enchantress has no shortage of damage, she can comfortably stack a high amount of MF. This build makes use of Harlequin Crest, Ist Runes socketed into gear, Magic Find Jewelry, and Magic Find Charms to accomplish this. This setup is more efficient than the Standard Build at targeting Elites in Low Player Count (/Players1-3 in Single Player). It reaches the 105% Faster Cast Rate Breakpoint on Weapon-Swap for casting Teleport. See the "Max Enchant" variant for how to pre-buff for maximum damage on the Magic Find Bow Enchant Sorceress.
Mercenary
Just like the Standard Build, the Magic Find Enchant Sorceress uses an Act 2 MightMercenary with Infinity, Fortitude, and Andariel's Visage socketed with a Ruby Jewel of Fervor.
Skills
Put 1 Skill Point into each of the following Skills: 1. Teleport 2. Energy Shield (Max Last) 3. Static Field 4. Chilling Armor

Setup
The Nova Enchant Sorceress is a specialized, max damage Nova Sorceress that casts maxed out Enchant on the Mercenary to make him deal as much damage as possible. In combination with a strong Nova, you can reliably one-shot Elites in Low Player Count (/Players1-3 on Single Player). "Telestomping" with this Fire Damage imbued Mercenary often results in one-hit-KOs, removing the need to cast Nova altogether (resulting in higher efficiency). This setup reaches the 105% Faster Cast Rate Breakpoint on its main weapon loadout for casting Nova and Teleport. See the "Max Enchant" variant for how to pre-buff for maximum damage on the Nova Enchant Sorceress' Mercenary.
Mercenary
The Nova Enchant Sorceress uses an Act 2 MightMercenary for increased Jab damage. Equip him with Breath of the Dying, Fortitude, and Andariel's Visage/Guillaume's Face for as much DPS as possible!
Skills
The Nova Enchant Sorceress requires a different Skill Point allocation for a strong Nova.
Put 1 Skill Point into each of the following Skills: 1. Telekinesis 2. Teleport 3. Energy Shield 4. Frozen Armor
Put 5-10 Skill Points into this Skill: 1. Static Field
Max out the following Skills in this order: 1. Enchant 2. Warmth 3. Fire Mastery 4. Nova 5. Static Field / Lightning Mastery

Video Guide by DarkHumility
Summary
Enchant grants Fire Damage to melee and ranged Physical attacks. It can be used to boost your own attacks, those of your Mercenary, and those of Party Members. Builds such as Frenzy Barbarian, Zeal Paladin, Strafe Amazon, and Multiple Shot Amazon benefit greatly from a powerful Enchant. Newly-made Characters using Raven Claw can fast-level in games with a Support Enchant Sorceress (see Build Variants).
In Patch 2.6, the combination of Demon Machine and Enchant is lethal, dealing more damage in many cases than a Fire Ball Sorceress. With Attack it pierces through through everything, destroying Low and High Player Count alike!
Stack 100% Pierce (using Razortail on top of Demon Machine) and achieve the 105% Faster Cast Rate Breakpoint on Weapon-Swap if possible on the Bow Enchant Sorceress. These stats make this build feel a lot more powerful and a lot less clunky.
With the help of Flame Rift, Flickering Flame, and Infinity on the Mercenary, the Bow Enchant Sorceress can efficiently farm almost any area in the game, including Terror Zones.
There are many ways to build an Enchantress. Try em' all!
We hope you enjoy this build! Burn through hordes of enemies; the crossbow meltation is real! Boost melee and ranged Characters to the max!
Good luck!
