Tier 3 Taijutsu Scrapper Build Guide

Last Updated:November 16, 2024|Changelog

Welcome to the Taijutsu Scrapper Build Guide! This build revolves around trying to deal as much damage as possible through high uptime and then occasionally getting a bonus burst from the Tenacity Release (Z) state. Utilizing high Swiftness she can be incredibly fast with great mobility and provides amazing utility to the party.

Outside of that, she provides some of the best Stagger and Destruction to any party along with one of the best Counters in the game. Her primary drawback is having to consistently maintain damage at all times. Having to focus on the back of the boss and being in melee range can also be annoying for maximum damage.

Pros
  • Good defence
  • Good mobility
  • Easy to learn
Cons
  • Positional gameplay
  • Melee
  • High APM

  • Iron Cannon Blow is one of your highest damage skills with some Destruction.
  • Battering Fists is another one of your highest damage skills.
  • Explosive Fist is your third best damage skill.
  • Dragon Advent is an additional filler damage skill with some mobility to help you reposition.
  • Death Rattle is an additional filler damage skill that allows you to unload your Shock meter and provides additional Destruction.
  • Charging Blow is your primary mobility skill that does minor amount of damage and gives you additional Destruction.
  • Judgment is your primary way to apply your Synergy from Damage Amplification and has additional Destruction.
  • Roundup Sweep is a filler damage skill and due to it's reset nature it becomes a top tier Counter.
  • Undefeated Dragon King is your Awakening. It is amazing as it will fill up your Tenacity Release (Z) meter allowing us an extra usage of it.

Alternative Skill, Tripod, and Rune Options

Charging Blow can be swapped for Continuous Push, using Vital Point Hit, Moment of Truth Brink of Death, and Galewind.

  • This allows for a very minor damage increase and some Damage Reduction in your kit, however it loses some mobility.
  • This skill additionally has a very long animation with backloaded damage making it hard to use unless you are using a Swiftness full build.

Dragon Advent

  • Tenacity - Can be used to make this skill significantly easier to land however it will do less damage and make Bleed less efficient.

Roundup Sweep

  • Circumstantial Judgment - Modifies the skill to add a dash, this will speed up the animation which can be good or bad depending on how you use this skill to Counter.

Explosive Fist

  • Rampage - Results in a damage increase but significantly increases the animation time of this skill making it harder to maintain high uptime.

Check the Rune Guide for more details on Runes and how to obtain them.

This build is optimized and meant to be used only in Chaos Dungeons. For Ebony Cube please use a Raid build.

  • Dragon Advent, Explosive Fist, and Death Rattle are your best skills for dealing with elites and bosses.
  • Roundup Sweep, Chain Destruction Fist, Potent Rising Fist, and Supernova
  • Charging Blow is a mobility skill.
  • Undefeated Dragon King is your Awakening. It will give you a bit of mobility and one shot any elite or boss in the dungeon.

While you can freely experiment with any engravings you want for this content, here's a recommended setup, based on the Engraving Support system:

  • Preemptive Strike causes your attacks to deal immense amounts of damage to monsters that you haven't attacked yet, making it ideal for Chaos Dungeons.
  • Contender is a stacking Attack Power effect that increases in strength once you kill a monster, making it ideal for Chaos Dungeons.
  • Raid Captain provides damage based on your Bonus Movement Speed, synergizing well with the Buff Nodes scattered throughout Chaos Dungeons.
  • Ultimate Skill: Taijutsu will make your Shock skills weaker, but will give you the necessary energy to spam skills in Chaos Dungeons while also increasing the damage of Stamina skills.
  • Shock Training offsets most of the damage loss of Ultimate Skill: Taijutsu and also gives you significant energy refund to allow more spamming within Chaos Dungeons.

Gameplay & Skill Rotation

Ultimate Skill: Taijutsu significantly increases the damage of Stamina skills and regeneration of the Stamina meter allowing you to play around almost entirely Stamina skills.

Activating her identity grants you the following effects for its entire duration:

  • Unlimited Shock & Stamina resource
  • +20% Stagger
  • Paralysis and Status Immunity
  • -50% spacebar cooldown
  • Reset spacebar cooldown on activation
  • Apply Amplified Damage for 10 seconds to nearby enemies on activation

Scrapper Identity

Scrapper Identity
Tenacity Release

All attacks with a Back Attack affix receive +10% Crit Rate and +5% Damage when they land on the target's back-side indicator as well as the bonuses from Entropy Set and Ambush Master. It is important to position yourself accordingly as much as possible in order to take advantage of this.

This build is incredibly simple, you want to focus on trying to deal as much damage as possible at nearly all times maintaining high uptime. Utilizing mobility from skills like Charging Blow and Dragon Advent you can constantly reposition to stay on the back of the boss. You must make sure to maintain high uptime on Synergy your by using Judgment.

Tenacity Release (Z) state can be activated once you fill up the meter, it is not what the build entirely revolves around but can be treated as a bonus every few rotations. Iron Cannon Blow and Battering Fists have tripods like Enhanced Tenacity Release that increase your damage while in Tenacity Release (Z). Undefeated Dragon King can be used to instantly fill your Tenacity Release (Z) meter allowing an extra window every time it is available.

Basic Rotations

Standard Damage Rotation

  • You want to use Tenacity Release (Z) state at the start of any rotation where it is available to boost the damage from Iron Cannon Blow and Battering Fists. Remember you always want to try to get 2 Iron Cannon Blow in every Tenacity Release (Z) state.
  • Death Rattle requires 75% Shock meter to do maximum damage. Try to only use it when the skill is highlighted, which should naturally happen towards the end of every rotation.
  • Try your best to maintain your Synergy using Judgment, even if you aren't planning to attack immediately after. Your Synergy is applied on Tenacity Release (Z) use, you can save the usage of your Judgment to fit in more damage skills.

Stagger Check Rotation

  • Simply follow this rotation to do some amazing Stagger. Remember you can also use a Whirlwind Grenade if you have one equipped!
  • Remember your Tenacity Release (Z) state increases Stagger so it can be used on tight checks, but you also want to use it for damage so only use it when absolutely necessary.
  • Roundup Sweep has a chance to reset it's own cooldown, if this happens then feel free to continue spamming it until it fails a reset.

Tripods and Gems

Tripod Levelling

Increasing the level of Tripods greatly enhances their effectiveness. You may only increase the level of 18 tripods at a time. Some of them cannot be leveled at all, or are left at level 1 - these tripods are omitted from the table, even if they are used. Here are the main tripods you should look out for in order to maximize this build's potential.

Tripods written in bold text are your highest priority, make sure to level them first!

Gems

Gems are another significant aspect of your build, as they directly impact the damage and cooldowns of your skills. You can equip up to 11 gems at a time. Here are the ones you should focus on in order to maximize this build's potential, listed according to their priority.

Damage Gems

  • Iron Cannon Blow
  • Battering Fists
  • Explosive Fist
  • Dragon Advent
  • Roundup Sweep
  • Death Rattle

Cooldown Gems

  • Iron Cannon Blow
  • Battering Fists
  • Explosive Fist
  • Dragon Advent
  • Death Rattle

Stat Priority

This build utilizes Crit and Swiftness.

  • Swiftness is the primary stat. It holds more value than Crit since we can gain Crit Rate from many sources, this provides you with Attack and Movement speed to fit more skills in shorter windows.
  • Crit is a secondary stat. It will increase our overall damage output and is a decent damage increase.

Standard Setup

Full Swiftness build will max out Attack and Movement speed with extra cooldown reduction making it more comfortable for many players to maintain upkeep and fit more skills within the Tenacity Release (Z) state, it comes with the downside of losing some Crit Rate.

Gear Set

Entropy Set

This set is optimal thanks to the large amounts of Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and positional damage it provides.

The name of your set will change every time you acquire a higher tier of gear, but the set effect will remain the same. Look for your set's keyword when recrafting it to find it more easily (e.g Entropy, Hallucination etc).

Check out the Gear Progression Guide for step by step instructions and early game gearing.

Engravings

Engravings are a core part of your build. Typically, most engravings will be used at level 3, but some can be used at level 1 or 2 in addition to the others, after reaching item level 1540 and unlocking Ancient Accessories.

Relic Gearing Build (5x3)

  • Ultimate Skill: Taijutsu
  • Grudge
  • Ambush Master
  • Raid Captain
  • Adrenaline

Ancient Gearing Build (5x3+1)

  • Ultimate Skill: Taijutsu
  • Grudge
  • Ambush Master
  • Raid Captain
  • Adrenaline
  • Ether Predator Lv. 1

Engraving Explanations

Core Engravings

  • Ultimate Skill: Taijutsu increases damage of our Stamina skills and regeneration of our Stamina, it also grants us bonus Paralysis Immunity in our identity but it reduces Shock damage by 30%.
  • Grudge increases damage done while also increasing damage received. The engraving is a highly effective damage increase without needing specific positioning, making it worthwhile even with the penalty.
  • Ambush Master because all of your damage skills have a Back Attack property, this becomes a good choice, but forces you to play around it to take full advantage of it.
  • Adrenaline provides an additional source of Crit Rate and Attack Power. It is fairly easy to upkeep.

Add-on Engravings (Pick 1)

  • Raid Captain due to us having a high amount of Swiftness we can use this engraving, it would not be entirely efficient but it should still provide 16% or more damage with at least 1370 Swiftness which is great since it has no downsides.
  • Cursed Doll is a significant Attack Power increase at the cost of 25% healing. The healing penalty can be punishing for inexperienced players who are not familiar with boss mechanics, but it becomes easy to overcome with time. This is a decent option for builds that are low on Swiftness.

Level 1 and 2 Engravings

  • Ether Predator your highest damage increase of any level one engraving in most build scenarios, however it requires some ramping up.
  • Adrenaline really only used for builds that have high Crit Rate and use Cursed Doll otherwise the Crit Rate is too valuable to not run this at level three.

Check out the Engraving Guide for more details.

Bracelet

Bracelets provide beneficial effects to yourself or to your party members depending on the rolls they have.

The primary goal is to get the main stats used by this build Crit and Swiftness. After that you should be aiming for Special Rolls to get more damage. Please note that this system is heavily reliant on RNG, and you should not expect to get much more beyond your main stats early on.

Card Sets

Cards are an endgame system that helps maximize your character's damage. Here are the recommended card sets for this build.

  • Deep Dive is used early on as it is fairly easy to obtain.
  • Light of Salvation is the standard endgame option, but it can take a long time to acquire 30-piece Awakening.
  • Kazeros's Legion Commanders is used as an alternative to Light of Salvation, in content where enemies have a weakness to Dark Damage.
  • Three Umar Families combined with A Voice Calls with is used as an alternative to Light of Salvation, in Guardian Raid content exclusively.
