Tier 3 Pinnacle Glaivier Build Guide
Last Updated:November 5, 2024|Changelog
Welcome to the Tier 3 Pinnacle Glaivier Build Guide! This build revolves around gracefully resonating between your two stances - Focus and Flurry. Alternating skills from both stances allow you to deal concentrated damage while outmaneuvering your enemies.
Pinnacle Glaivier struggles to inflict significant amounts of Stagger and Destruction, mostly due to her best contribution skills being part of her rotation. In exchange, she has access to two Counter skills, one for each stance. Normally, each stance comes with its unique buff, but the Class Engraving unifies these effects, no matter which stance you are in.
- Good defense
- Easy to learn
- Low APM
- Positional gameplay
- Melee

Builds
Need some tips for general content? Check out our Guardian Raids and Abyssal Dungeons guides.
- Red Dragon's Horn, Starfall Pounce, and Thrust of Destruction are your main damage skills.
- 4-Headed Dragon, Half Moon Slash, and Raging Dragon Slash are secondary damage skills.
- Shackling Blue Dragon is your main Synergy (Target Weak Point) skill. Additionally, it provides +20% Crit Rate for 6 seconds, but only to yourself.
- Windsplitter is used to supplement the duration of your Synergy (Target Weak Point), since Shackling Blue Dragon is often used for your own benefit.
- Thorn Jab and Spiraling Spear are your Counter skills.
- Dragonscale Defense functions as a Parry - a powerful defensive skill that negates almost any incoming attack and grants you a shield for 50% of your Maximum HP for a short timeframe.
- Yeon-style Spear Technique: Spear Meteor is your Awakening. It is preferred over Yeon-style Spear Technique: Storming Red Dragon thanks to its ability to fit into your buff windows.
Check the Rune Guide for more details on Runes and how to obtain them.
This build is optimized and meant to be used only in Chaos Dungeons. For Ebony Cube please use a Raid build.
- Cutting Wind and Raging Dragon Slash are your main ways to deal with large packs of lesser monsters.
- Starfall Pounce and Thrust of Destruction can both deal with Elite monsters on their own.
- Red Dragon's Horn is your primary way of dealing with the Boss on the 2nd Floor.
- 4-Headed Dragon and Shackling Blue Dragon are used as fillers, if needed.
- Yeon-style Spear Technique: Storming Red Dragon is your Awakening. It is preferred over Yeon-style Spear Technique: Spear Meteor as a back-up for the Boss on the 2nd Floor.
Recommended Engraving Setup
While you can freely experiment with any engravings you want for this content, here's a recommended setup, based on the Engraving Support system:
- Preemptive Strike causes your attacks to deal immense amounts of damage to monsters that you haven't attacked yet, making it ideal for Chaos Dungeons.
- Contender is a stacking Attack Power effect that increases in strength once you kill a monster, making it ideal for Chaos Dungeons.
- Raid Captain provides damage based on your Bonus Movement Speed, synergizing well with the Buff Nodes scattered throughout Chaos Dungeons.
- Cursed Doll increases your damage with essentially no drawback in Chaos Dungeons.
- Pinnacle unifies your identity's effects, providing a considerable amount of damage.
Gameplay & Skill Rotation
Pinnacle Glaivier uses both of her stances, but Focus allows access to significantly stronger skills than Flurry. In exchange, Flurry provides more utility and effects that you can use to strengthen your Focus skills. Changing back and forth between stances can be done freely, but in order to gain the buffs that come with it, you must consume one bar of the Dual Meter.
Consuming a Dual Meter bar and performing a swap grants you the following effects:
Entering the Flurry stance
- +15% Attack Speed
- +20% Damage
Entering the Focus stance
- +15% Movement Speed
- +50% Crit Damage
The Class Engraving unifies these buffs, granting you all effects regardless of which stance you change to. However, the duration is different, lasting 20 seconds in Flurry stance and 15 seconds in Focus stance.
Glaivier Identity
All attacks with a Back Attack affix receive +10% Crit Rate and +5% Damage when they land on the target's back-side indicator. It is important to position yourself accordingly as much as possible to take advantage of this.
This build focuses on a sequence that utilizes the Crit Rate buff from Shackling Blue Dragon by immediately swapping to the Focus Stance and unleashing powerful skills. In the downtime that comes after this, you are free to use your secondary damage skills, perform mechanics, or reposition for the next sequence.
Basic Rotations
Standard Damage Rotation
- Using skills in this specific order is recommended in order to maximize damage output, but once all the main skills of Focus stance have been used, you may reposition or delay the Flurry skills if needed.
- Try your best to maintain your Synergy using Windsplitter, even if you aren't planning to attack immediately after.
- Using Yeon-style Spear Technique: Spear Meteor at the beginning of a rotation allows it to benefit from Shackling Blue Dragon's Crit Rate buff. If you don't believe you can perform this reliably, consider using Yeon-style Spear Technique: Storming Red Dragon instead.
Stagger Check Rotation
- This build's contribution to stagger checks may often be lacking. Remember you can also use a Whirlwind Grenade if you have one equipped!
Tripods and Gems
Tripod Levelling
Increasing the level of Tripods greatly enhances their effectiveness. You may only increase the level of 18 tripods at a time. Some of them cannot be leveled at all, or are left at level 1 - these tripods are omitted from the table, even if they are used. Here are the main tripods you should look out for in order to maximize this build's potential.
Skill | 1st Tripod | 2nd Tripod | 3rd Tripod |
Red Dragon's Horn | Determination | Weak Point Detection
Starfall Pounce | Weak Point Detection | Ground Explosion
Thrust of Destruction | Swift Fingers | Weak Point Detection | Air-Ripping Thrust |
4-Headed Dragon | Vital Point Hit | Violent Thrust | Weak Point Detection |
Half Moon Slash | Weak Point Detection | Final Decision | Chasing Slash |
Raging Dragon Slash | Quick Prep | Additional Slash | Awaken |
Tripods written in bold text are your highest priority, make sure to level them first!
For more information on where to obtain Tripod Amulets and how to use them, check out our Skill Tree System Guide.
Gems
Gems are another significant aspect of your build, as they directly impact the damage and cooldowns of your skills. You can equip up to 11 gems at a time. Here are the ones you should focus on in order to maximize this build's potential, listed according to their priority.
Damage Gems
- Red Dragon's Horn
- Starfall Pounce
- Thrust of Destruction
- Half Moon Slash
- 4-Headed Dragon
- Raging Dragon Slash
Cooldown Gems
- Shackling Blue Dragon

Besides Half Moon Slash, all of the listed cooldown gems should be equal in level, in order to maintain these skills in sync for your rotation.
For more information on where to obtain gems and how to use them, check out our Gem System Guide.
Stat Priority
This build utilizes Specialization and Crit.
- Specialization is the primary stat. It directly increases the damage of your Focus skills, as well as Dual Meter generation.
- Crit is a secondary stat. It offers damage consistency as well as synergizing well with your gear set.

Gear Set
Entropy Set
This set is optimal thanks to the large amounts of Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and positional damage it provides.
The name of your set will change every time you acquire a higher tier of gear, but the set effect will remain the same. Look for your set's keyword when recrafting it in order to find it more easily (e.g Entropy, Hallucination etc).
Check out the Gear Progression Guide for step by step instructions and early game gearing.

Engravings
Engravings are a core part of your build. Typically, most engravings will be used at level 3, but there are some that can be used at level 1 or 2 in addition to the others, after reaching item level 1540 and unlocking Ancient Accessories.

Engraving Explanations
Core Engravings
- Pinnacle significantly strengthens your identity by unifying its effects.
- Grudge increases damage done while also increasing damage received. The engraving is a highly effective damage increase without needing specific positioning, making it worthwhile even with the penalty.
- Ambush Master provides a massive boost to Back Attack skills, which comprise most of your damage.
- Raid Captain synergizes well with your identity.
- Cursed Doll is a significant Attack Power increase at the cost of -25% healing. The healing penalty can be punishing for inexperienced players who are not familiar with boss mechanics, but it becomes easy to overcome with time.
Level 1 and 2 Engravings
- Adrenaline provides an additional source of Crit Rate and Attack Power. It can be somewhat difficult to upkeep.
Check out the Engraving Guide for more details.
Bracelet
Bracelets provide beneficial effects to yourself or to your party members depending on the rolls they have.
The primary goal is to get the main stats used by this build Specialization and Crit. After that you should be aiming for Special Rolls to get more damage. Please note that this system is heavily reliant on RNG, and you should not expect to get much more beyond your main stats early on.

Card Sets
Cards are an endgame system that helps maximize your character's damage. Here are the recommended card sets for this build.
- Deep Dive is used early on as it is fairly easy to obtain.
- Light of Salvation is the standard endgame option, but it can take a long time to acquire 30-piece Awakening.
- Kazeros's Legion Commanders is used as an alternative to Light of Salvation, in content where enemies have a weakness to Dark Damage.
- Three Umar Families combined with A Voice Calls with is used as an alternative to Light of Salvation, in Guardian Raid content exclusively.
