Ark Passive System Guide

This article goes over the details of the Ark Passive system, which replaces the gearing process used in Tier 3 through a more granular setup that allows a higher degree of customization and reallocation. It co-exists with the previous systems, and you can freely swap between these gearing setups.
While initially the existing systems will still be stronger when you transition into Tier 4, you will eventually want to move on to using Ark Passive when you have acquired the necessary gear pieces.

Evolution Tree
The Evolution Tree consists of passive effects commonly used by all classes, functioning as a replacement for Combat Stats and Relic Set Effects.
Points for this tree can be obtained from the following sources:
- Relic grade Tier 4 Armor: +8 Points (max +40)
- Ancient grade Tier 4 Armor: +20 Points (max +100)
- Character levels after 50: +1 Point (max +20)

Mana Forge

+10/20% Brand Power.
Mana Consumption +2% of your max Mana for Mana Consuming Skills.
Evolution Damage +0.25/0.5% per 10 mana cost.
Up to 12/24% Evolution Damage can be gained from this node.
Stability
2 Levels
Brand Power +10/20%.
Identity Gauge Gain -3/6%.
Brand Power is a new multiplier that affects the Brand skills of Support classes.
Enlightenment Tree
The Enlightenment Tree consists of passive effects unique to each class, and replaces the existing Class Engravings, as well as granting access to new unique interactions.

- This is the Field Boss in North Kurzan. The drop rate is fairly low, but it is guaranteed to drop after 18 kills (kills without loot do not count).
The breakpoints for points based on Accessory Quality are 0 - 33 / 34 - 66 / 67 - 100.
There are two main paths in each class's tree, representing Class Engravings, and acquiring these effects requires you to have the previous one unlocked. Each node requires 24 points, regardless of how many levels it has.
Additionally, there are 4 independent effects (2 points per level) that can be unlocked regardless of the path you've chosen, with some exceptions.

Warrior
Strong Body

You can exit Burst mode with X key.
Gain Push Immunity for 0.5/1.5/2.5 seconds when you enter Burst mode.
Mayhem
3 Levels
Fury gauge is always full in Normal mode.
Enter Mayhem mode when you Burst.
Bonus Attack and Move Speed +5/10/15% during Mayhem. Fury gauge doesn’t decay.
All incoming Damage -72%. When Mayhem Mode activates, HP is reduced to 25% of Max HP; this cannot be exceeded even when healing is applied. Can only receive 40% of healing and 25% of shield. Press the X key to cancel Mayhem Mode. Cannot enter Mayhem Mode again for 30s.
Body Activation
3 Levels
Reduce Exhaust duration by 20/60/100% when you exit Burst mode.
Fury Activation
3 Levels
Heal 5/15/25% of max HP when you exit Mayhem mode.
Body Awakening
5 Levels
Restore 8/10/12/14/16% mana when you enter Burst or Mayhem mode.
Increase Damage by 0/1/2/3/4%.
Berserker's Technique
3 Levels
Outgoing Damage +10/20/30% during Burst mode.
Cold Fury
3 Levels
Outgoing Damage +6/12/18% during Mayhem mode.
Fury Stimulation

Crit Damage +3/6/9/12/15% during Burst or Mayhem mode.
Fury Consumption

In Burst or Mayhem mode, using Bloody Rush, Dark Rush, or normal skills, consumes 5/10/15/20/25% Fury gauge of base cooldown.
Outgoing Damage +1.5/3/4.5/6/7.5%.
Enhanced Burst

Grant Enhanced Burst when you enter Burst mode and every second you attack.
Enhanced Burst: +6/12/18% Damage for 12 seconds.
Enhanced Shadow
3 Levels
Grant Enhanced Shadow when you hit an enemy (1s cooldown).
Enhanced Shadow: Outgoing Damage +0.7/1.4/2.1%. Max 10 stacks.
Rush
5 Levels
Movement Skill Cooldown resets when you enter Burst or Mayhem mode.
Movement Skill is replaced by Rush, reducing distance by 2m and cooldown by 2s, and granting the Rush buff.
Rush: Outgoing Damage +0.3/0.6/0.9/1.2/1.5%. Max 4 stacks.
Lance Training
3 Levels
+5/10/15% Crit Rate for Gunlance skills.
Fortified
3 Levels
+30/40/50% Shield during Defense State.
Precision
3 Levels
+10/30/50% Crit Damage for Gunlance skills.
Combat Readiness
3 Levels
Gain Combat Readiness when you hit an enemy or you get hit (1s cooldown).
Combat Readiness: +2/3/4% Damage per stack. Stacks up to 3 times (10s duration).
Empower Efficiency

+1% MP Recovery while in combat. +5% MP Recovery while in Defense State.

Lone Knight

Lance Strike Stance

Defense State is replaced by Enhanced Lance.
Enhanced Lance: +8/16/24% Damage for Gunlance skills. Movement Speed reduction changed to -20%.
Vanguard
3 Levels
Gain Battle Ready while in Defense State.
Battle Ready: +42/45/48% Damage for normal skills.
Combat Readiness now stacks up to 4/5/6 times (0.5s cooldown). Stack duration increased to 20 seconds.
Tactical Maneuver
5 Levels
Replaces your spacebar with a frontal dash, granting you +1.6/3.2/4.8/6.4/8% Attack Speed on use (8s duration) and allowing you to cast skills during the dash.
+0.8/1.6/2.4/3.2/4% Damage for normal and Gunlance skills.
Gravity Armor
3 Levels
After using a Gravity Release skill, +1/2/3% Defense per Core used.
Gravity Shock
1 Level
After hitting the same enemy with 3 Hypergravity Skills, inflict additional damage.
Sharp Hammer
3 Levels
After using a Gravity Release skill, +2/4/6% Crit Rate per Core used.
Gravity Charge
3 Levels
+20/45/70% Gravity Meter from Gravity Release skills.
Enh. Gravity Release
5 Levels
+0.8/1.6/2.4/3.2/4% Damage for Gravity Release skills.

Enhance Mode

Spacebar cooldown resets upon entering Hypergravity Mode or Gravity Release.

Gravity Conversion

Removes Gravity Aura during Hypergravity Mode or Gravity Release.
Damage increases by +4/8/12/16/20% of Crit Rate.
Gravity Release

Hypergravity Mode changes to Gravity Release mode.
Gravity Release: gain Push Immunity, +10% Damage, +15/35/55% Damage for Gravity Release skills, can generate cores with Concentrated Skills, but Gravity Shield and Damage Reduction effects no longer apply.

Increase the size of the explosion upon entering Burst Mode by 8m, and it now applies Terrified to enemies.

Unstoppable Fury

+4/8/12% Damage.
After using Bloodlust, gain Enhanced Burst.
Enhanced Burst: +4/8/12% Damage.
Deepening Fury

While in Burst Mode, restore 5% of Max MP on hit. Every 3 hits, gain Enhanced Burst.
Enhanced Burst: +1.3/2.6/4% Damage per stack. Stacks up to 10 times.
Ruthless Strike

Piety Meter is always full. During Sacred Executioner, your skills deal 15/12.5/10% less Damage, but gain +15/20/25% Crit Damage. The Cooldown of Sacred Executioner increases by 8s.
Hitting an enemy with Punishment skills applies Target Weak Point for 5s.
Deep Faith

+10/20/30% Holy Aura size.
Restore 70% of remaining Piety Meter when you disable Holy Aura manually.
Holy Aura can now be cast when Piety Meter is at 75% or higher.
Trace of Light

Apply Light's Vestige for 6/7/8/9/10s to all enemies within 24m when you cast Holy Aura.
Martial Artist

Asura’s Path

Total Stamina and Shock Energy -30%.
Tenacious Power is now Asura Energy. +4% Energy when using a Shock Skill after Stamina Skill or vice versa. Brawl King Stance is now Asura Destruction. Basic Attack changed to Asura Destruction Basic Attack during Asura Destruction.
Movement Speed +15% during Asura Destruction.
Defensive Speculation (X) becomes available.
Defensive Speculation: Gain Push Immunity, 40% of Max HP Shield, Incoming Damage -20%, and Penalty Gauge -50% for 2 seconds, +3 seconds if hit (10s cooldown).
Hypogastric Breathing

Accessories
Unlike their Tier 3 counterparts, Tier 4 accessories do not feature Combat Stats (Crit, Specialization, Swiftness) and Engravings, instead being granted new options. Relic accessories can be obtained from content that requires Item Level 1640, while Ancient accessories can be obtained from content that requires Item Level 1680.
The process that grants these accessories new options is called Polishing. Each accessory can be polished up to 3 times using shards obtained by dismantling other accessories. This increases their regular stats (Vitality, STR/DEX/INT, Defense), and grants them various effects.
Accessories can be used regardless of their polish level, and can be traded at any time (limited up to 3 times).

Engravings
While the Ark Passive system is enabled, Engravings can only be obtained by using Combat Engraving Recipes, and have different values than in the Tier 3 system. Each engraving starts off at Rare grade, and can be further enhanced by learning Epic Grade Recipes, Legendary Grade Recipes, and Relic Grade Recipes, with gradual increases for every 5 books. Ability Stones further increase the effects of engravings at 6, 7, 9, and 10 nodes. The values in the table below only refer to the positive side of each engraving, and downsides are not mentioned.
