Season 5 - InfernalB-TierSpecialized

Welcome to the Grenade Rogue Specialized Build Guide! This build features a unique playstyle unlike any other on the Rogue by scaling the power of Grenades as high as possible. While there are many ways to trigger Grenades in this setup, the main avenue is spamming Twisting Blades together with Saboteur's Signet and Artful Initiative to produce the best results. With the full combo unlocked, this setup can clear any content reasonably well and you can call yourself a true master of explosives!

Our Specialized Builds are Endgame builds with specific requirements and purposes. In order to play them, you are expected to already have specific items and effects available. To get there, we recommend you use one of our existing lvl 50-100 Endgame Build Guides.

Requirements for this build to function:

  • Saboteur's Signet
  • All listed Grenade Aspects from the Gear section
  • Lots of Resource Generation & Resource Cost Reduction

The skill tree and playstyle remains largely the same as in the standard variant. The main difference is that with Ring of Starless Skies you have a much easier time sustaining resources and can start removing Energy recovery e.g. from boots, chest and the Saboteur's Signet. Thanks to Tyrael's Might the setup is much tankier than before and you can play more offensively, too.

Once you have really good gear, you can play this setup for optimal damage output. With Ring of Starless Skies and a masterworked Saboteur's Signet you can simply spam Twisting Blades to your heart's desire without the need for extra resource recovery. This allows us to switch to Preparation and cast Death Trap frequently to pull enemies and gain a powerful damage buff from No Witnesses.

Paragon

This board is optimized around the use of Death Trap to include No Witnesses.

Season 5 - Infernal Hordes

In Season 5, the Season Theme brings your hero back into the bowels of Hell, in the Infernal Hordes endgame activity. You're first introduced to Hellbreach Dungeons, miniature Horde-like micro-dungeons that teach you the new mechanics and rewards systems. As you slay more powerful Demons and Bosses, you're rewarded with the new Reputation progression that comes with amazing rewards. These include Crafting Materials, unlocking Season's Journey tiers and even the coveted Resplendent Spark, needed to craft a mythic unique.

Follow the seasonal questline until you unlock the Reputation system, check which rewards suit you most and then follow your regular leveling path. To learn more, check out our full Season 5 guide for more information.

Gameplay

  • The main part of the gameplay with this build is very simple: Spam Twisting Blades as much as possible. Technically, you can use any other Core Skill for a similar result but the build is best played with the melee skills thanks to the powerful Momentum Key Passive.
  • Most of your Energy recovery comes from regeneration and the Saboteur's Signet effect when Grenades explode. This allows you to e.g. Evade or Shadow Step to drop Grenades and refill your Energy in case you run out when your gear isn't perfect yet.
  • Use Smoke Grenade on every big monster pack to disable them, trigger Trick Attacks and spawn the totem from The Umbracrux.
  • Use Poison Trap and Caltrops on tanky elites and bosses for damage buffs from Alchemical Advantage and Deadly Ambush.
