Identity & Gameplay

Wild Instincts Wildsoul focuses on consecutively using Shapeshift skills (Fox/Bear skills) to generate Fox and Bear energy, and gaining Wildness stacks. At 3 stacks and max Bear/Fox energy, you unleash a powerful finisher skill.

Using a Human skill will reset all your Wildness stacks, so they are used in-between transformations to generate Phantom Beast Energy and apply synergy.

Depending on the form you're using, you gain different buffs:

Bear Form

  • +10% Damage Reduction
  • -10% Movespeed

Fox Form

  • +20% Attackspeed
  • +20% Movespeed

Additionally, the Wildness buff provides different bonuses based on the number of stacks:

  • 1 Stack: 1% of Max HP is recovered every 10 seconds
  • 2 Stacks: Shapeshift skills Attack Speed +10%
  • 3 Stacks: Defense of the target hit by Shapeshift skills -12% for 5 seconds (Synergy)

Rotation

There is no strict rotation for this playstyle, instead you tend to pair skills based on their cooldown. You do have to avoid using Phantom Beast skills at the wrong time to avoid losing Wildness stacks if you're about to use the finisher skills.

Phantom Beast skills

  • These skills are used in-between Shapeshift cycles to generate Phantom Beast energy and apply Synergy.
  • They transform you into a Human, resetting your Wildness stacks.

Shapeshift Combos

[a]
[b]

  • These combos are paired based on the cooldown of the skills and generate 3 Wildness Stacks.
  • Each skill generates its own energy type, and different amounts of each so you'll have to take consideration on how full your Fox and Bear energy is, to end up in the same form as the finisher you're about to use.
    • For example, if you're about to get full Bear Energy, you should use Fox skills first, so you end up in Bear Form after using the other skills.
  • Remember to alternate between each combo and your Phantom Beast skills to generate enough Phantom Beast energy to use the following combo.

Gems

Gems are another significant aspect of your build, as they directly impact the damage and cooldowns of your skills. You can equip up to 11 gems at a time. Here are the ones you should focus on to maximize this build's potential, listed according to their priority.

Damage Gems

  • Shapeshift Golden Ancestry Skill
  • Boulder Bear
  • Fox Illusion
  • Fox Flame
  • Fox Orb
  • Swish Bear

Cooldown Gems

  • Boulder Bear[a]
  • Fox Flame[a]
  • Fox Illusion[b]
  • Fox Orb[b]
  • Swish Bear[b]
Note

Remember to keep [a] and [b] gems at the same levels, so that their respective cooldowns are synced properly.

Engravings

Engravings are a core part of your build. You can equip up to five at a time, freely swapping between them.

Engravings are listed in order of importance.

  • Grudge
  • Adrenaline
  • Keen Blunt Weapon
  • Cursed Doll
  • Hit Master

Tripods

Tripods affect your skills directly by providing utility, damage, cooldown reduction or gauge generation. You should level up these first:

  • Fox Illusion: Enhanced Phantom Beast
  • Fox Orb: Energy Concentration
  • Fox Flame: Energy Concentration
  • Tailwind: Energy Concentration
