Tier 3 Firepower Enhancement Artillerist Build Guide
Last Updated:November 16, 2024|Changelog
Welcome to the Firepower Enhancement Artillerist Build Guide! This build revolves around trying to maintain high uptime with many big hitting skills. The class utilizes high amounts of super armor and a relatively tanky ranged build where you can comfortably deal consistent damage in every raid scenario.
Outside of that, he does amazing Stagger. However, he can also struggle with some serious mana issues and low burst, making him only really shine in situations where he can consistently deal damage.
- Non-positional gameplay
- Good defence
- Ranged
- Easy to learn
- Poor mobility
Want a more burst focused playstyle? Check out our Barrage Enhancement guide.
Builds
Need some tips for general content? Check out our Guardian Raids and Abyssal Dungeons guides.
- Pressurized Heatbomb is your main damage skill with some Destruction.
- Homing Barrage and Air Raid are your next best damage skills, these have some delay so make sure to place them correctly.
- Multi-Rocket Launcher and Summon Turret are additional filler damage skills.
- Enhanced Shell is your Synergy from Armor Destruction and also provides some additional damage.
- Energy Field is your shield which also provides you with Push Immunity.
- Swing is your Counter and has additional Destruction.
- Heavy Turret is your Awakening. It is relatively consistent and provides a small amount of damage.
Alternative Skill, Tripod, and Rune Options
Swing can be swapped for Napalm Shot, using Target Focus and Overwhelm.
- This allows for even more stagger due to Target Focus applying to your whole party. However, this makes the Counter much harder to land.
Swing
- Can be left at level 4 if struggling for skill points but you will lose Destruction.
Check the Rune Guide for more details on Runes and how to obtain them.
This build is optimized and meant to be used only in Chaos Dungeons. For Ebony Cube please use a Raid build.
- Pressurized Heatbomb, Air Raid, and Homing Barrage are the best skills for killing elite mobs and bosses.
- Flamethrower, Multi-Rocket Launcher, and Gravity Explosion are the best skills for dealing with mass waves of mobs.
- Energy Field and Enhanced Shell are simply filler skills.
- Barrage skills are not really worth using in Chaos Dungeons.
- Missile Barrage is your Awakening. It is great for doing large area of effect bombing for mass waves of bombs or bosses.
Recommended Engraving Setup
While you can freely experiment with any engravings you want for this content, here's a recommended setup, based on the Engraving Support system:
- Preemptive Strike causes your attacks to deal immense amounts of damage to monsters that you haven't attacked yet, making it ideal for Chaos Dungeons.
- Contender is a stacking Attack Power effect that increases in strength once you kill a monster, making it ideal for Chaos Dungeons.
- Raid Captain provides damage based on your Bonus Movement Speed, synergizing well with the Buff Nodes scattered throughout Chaos Dungeons.
- Cursed Doll increases your damage with essentially no drawback in Chaos Dungeons.
- Firepower Enhancement significantly improves the Chaos Dungeon experience.
Gameplay & Skill Rotation
His playstyle revolves around trying to fill up Firepower Meter as fast as possible and maintaining it during the entire duration of the fight, keeping consistent uptime and dishing out as much damage as possible.
His identity passively fills and provides these bonuses from Firepower Enhancement.
- 10/20/30% Damage Increase based on Firepower Level (White/Yellow/Red)
Firepower Enhancement also provides:
- +28% Damage to Normal Skills
- -15% Damage Taken outside of Barrage
- +14s Firepower Meter duration
Artillerist Identity
This build is very straightforward, first, you must always attempt to maintain Firepower Meter. This is a significant damage increase when full and will drain when not in combat so always try to make sure you are maintaining it at all times. Make sure your Synergy is always applied with Enhanced Shell and always using Summon Turret whenever it is available to deal as much damage as possible.
Additionally to simplify the build more Homing Barrage and Air Raid will have a delay before they land, so always try to pair these skills together since they have similar cooldowns and similar usage. This works similarly to Pressurized Heatbomb and Multi-Rocket Launcher which should also always be paired to keep your rotation efficient. Energy Field will help with Push Immunity on Pressurized Heatbomb, Multi-Rocket Launcher, and Enhanced Shell making it extremely easy to always be doing damage.
Basic Rotations
Standard Damage Rotation
- This rotation is incredibly simple, your goal is to maintain high uptime on Synergy using Enhanced Shell and then trying to deal as much damage as possible.
- Energy Field will provide Push Immunity while it is active so it is amazing for being able to use skills without them being cancelled.
Stagger Check Rotation
- Simply follow this rotation for easy Stagger. Remember you can also use a Whirlwind Grenade if you have one equipped!
Tripods and Gems
Tripod Levelling
Increasing the level of Tripods greatly enhances their effectiveness. You may only increase the level of 18 tripods at a time. Some of them cannot be leveled at all, or are left at level 1 - these tripods are omitted from the table, even if they are used. Here are the main tripods you should look out for in order to maximize this build's potential.
Skill | 1st Tripod | 2nd Tripod | 3rd Tripod |
Homing Barrage | Weak Point Detection | Power Bomb
Air Raid | Quickfire | Flame Barrage | The Big One |
Pressurized Heatbomb | Condense | Serial Barrage | Additional Firepower |
Multi-Rocket Launcher | Flame Rocket | Quick Barrage | Access Denied |
Summon Turret | Sub Battery | Enhanced Turret | Laser Turret |
Enhanced Shell | Bullet Enhancement | Internal Ignition
Energy Field | Energy Increase |
Tripods written in bold text are your highest priority, make sure to level them first!

Stat Priority
This build utilizes Crit and Swiftness.
- Crit is the primary stat. It directly increases our Crit Rate resulting in the highest damage scaling stat for our build.
- Swiftness is a secondary stat. It provides Attack and Movement speed as well as cooldown reduction making the build more fluid.
Standard Setup
- Crit + Swiftness

Gear Set
Hallucination Set
Provides a large boost to Crit Rate and is incredibly consistent allowing for a simple play style.
Nightmare Set
This set is an alternative option that loses some Crit Rate and consistency but will remove mana struggles from the build, however, it has the downside of triggering Boundless which will result in a damage loss.
The name of your set will change every time you acquire a higher tier of gear, but the set effect will remain the same. Look for your set's keyword when recrafting it to find it more easily (e.g Entropy, Hallucination etc).
Check out the Gear Progression Guide for step by step instructions and early game gearing.

Engravings
Engravings are a core part of your build. Typically, most engravings will be used at level 3, but there are some that can be used at level 1 or 2 in addition to the others, after reaching item level 1540 and unlocking Ancient Accessories.
Relic Gearing Build (5x3)
- Firepower Enhancement
- Grudge
- Hit Master
- Keen Blunt Weapon
- Cursed Doll
Ancient Gearing Build (5x3+1)
- Firepower Enhancement
- Grudge
- Hit Master
- Keen Blunt Weapon
- Cursed Doll
- Adrenaline Lv. 1
Engraving Explanations
Core Engravings
- Firepower Enhancement grants the highest damage increase of any engraving and increases the duration of our meter allowing it to have higher uptime.
- Grudge increases damage done while also increasing damage received. The engraving is a highly effective damage increase without needing specific positioning, making it worthwhile even with the penalty.
- Hit Master applies to most of our skills due to them being non-directional and has no downsides.
- Keen Blunt Weapon due to our very high Crit Rate this engraving is incredibly efficient in this build.
Add-on Engravings (Pick 1)
- Cursed Doll is a significant Attack Power increase at the cost of 25% healing. The healing penalty can be punishing for inexperienced players who are not familiar with boss mechanics, but it becomes easy to overcome with time. Used with the Hallucination Set build for the highest damage output.
- Adrenaline is easy to maintain and provides a large boost of Crit Rate which is needed for the Nightmare Set build.
Level 1 and 2 Engravings
- Adrenaline provides the highest damage increase for the Hallucination Set build and is relatively easy to maintain.
- Ether Predator provides the highest damage increase for the Nightmare Set build as you have to run Adrenaline at level three.
Check out the Engraving Guide for more details.

Bracelets provide beneficial effects to yourself or to your party members depending on the rolls they have.
The primary goal is to get the main stats used by this build Crit and Swiftness. After that, you should be aiming for Special Rolls to get more damage. Please note that this system is heavily reliant on RNG, and you should not expect to get much more beyond your main stats early on.

Card Sets
Cards are an endgame system that helps maximize your character's damage. Here are the recommended card sets for this build.
- Deep Dive is used early on as it is fairly easy to obtain.
- Light of Salvation is the standard endgame option, but it can take a long time to acquire 30-piece Awakening.
- Kazeros's Legion Commanders is used as an alternative to Light of Salvation, in content where enemies have a weakness to Dark Damage.
Check out the Card Guide for more details on how to obtain cards and interact with them.
