Javelin Time Rot Void Knight Guide
Last Updated:May 13, 2025|Changelog
The Javelin Time Rot Void Knight uses Javelin, inflicting enemies with the powerful Time Rot ailment. Use your other Skills to buff up your Javelin and Time Rot to deal insane Damage. Take control of the dark powers of the Void and make your enemies decay away!
Time Rot is limited to 12 stacks, so you want to ensure that you are applying it with Skills that have large Damage multipliers. Javelin is an amazing choice, as it comes with huge multipliers, along with a straightforward playstyle. Devouring Orb provides passive benefits and deals Damage while moving, improving clear speed. Anomaly is a huge boost to single target Damage. Void Cleave triggers Abyssal Echoes and buffs Javelin, while acting as your Movement Skill.
This setup needs Black Blade of Chaos, as it provides incredible Damage. Additionally, Uniques like Atrophy, Vipertail, Anchor of Oblivion, Red Ring of Atlaria and Nihilis turn this build into an absolute powerhouse.
Overall, this powerful Void Knight is an amazing build that performs well in endgame. If you are looking for a ranged Damage Over Time setup that obliterates enemies and is able to survive the hardest encounters, this build is perfect for you!
This build needs Black Blade of Chaos. Farm it from Harbinger of Chaos in the Ending the Storm Timeline. Farming the Collapsing Horizon Woven Echo is also a great way to get it.

Skills
Javelin
Javelin is your main Damage Skill. It inflicts strong Time Rot thanks to its big Damage multipliers like Spear to the Thigh and Strategic Patience. Battle Standard grants a huge Damage multiplier, but adds a Cooldown. With enough gear, you can unspecialize Battle Standard while mapping to turn the gameplay into that of a classic Javelin build for faster clear. However, your single target DPS will be much lower.
- Javelin: Surprise Initiative is an option for additional mobility.
- Javelin: One point in Divine Fury improves the clear speed.
- Javelin: If you unspecialize Battle Standard for mapping, place this point into Excellent Balance.
Skills showcase extra Skill Points in case you find +Level of Skills that may not be included in the Planners.
Passives
- Rot Grip enables the Damage scaling for Time Rot. Slow Chance, Time Rot Chance and Attack/Cast Speed provide huge Damage multipliers thanks to this Passive.
- 3 points in Time Legion is optimal when combined with T7 Cast Speed on your Gloves.
- World Eater provides enough Leech for the build.
- Void Well helps with sustaining Mana.
- If you lack Resistances, take out Points from Dark Maw and allocate them into Abyssal Endurance.
Make sure to complete the Campaign to get all your Passive Points.
Gameplay
Mapping
- Use Void Cleave to move across the map and trigger Abyssal Echoes.
- Throw Javelin. If you've unspecialized Battle Standard for mapping, you can use it more frequently.
- Always stay on the move to automatically cast Devouring Orb. It can clear packs of enemies on its own.
- Maintain Time Bubble with Anomaly at all times.
Bossing/Rotation
- Use Void Cleave to trigger Abyssal Echoes. Hit the Boss with Void Cleave to apply additional stacks of Time Rot with your next Javelin thanks to Dismantling Throws. With Experimental Frenzy Effect on your Boots, you also get Frenzy with it.
- If you don't have Experimental Frenzy Effect on your Boots, use Evade with Nihilis to get Frenzy.
- Use Javelin.
- Cast Anomaly and make sure to hit the Boss with it to activate Mark of Rot.
- Stay on the move to automatically cast Devouring Orb. You can stutter step by holding down your movement key and attack key at the same time.
- Use unspecialized Rebuke to tank dangerous Boss abilities.
- If you've unspecialized Battle Standard for mapping, you can use it it more frequently, but your single target DPS will be much lower. Spamming Javelin costs quite a bit of Mana, so pay attention to not run out.
Gear, Idols & Blessings
- With Rot Grip, stack Time Rot Chance and Slow Chance on your gear to massively boost your Damage. Balance out Melee Attack Speed, Throwing Attack Speed and Cast Speed for even more Damage.
- Black Blade of Chaos grants a ton of Damage with its Time Rot Chance and Void Penetration per Dexterity. It has large roll ranges for its stats, Time Rot Chance is the most important one to get high rolled.
- Atrophy is an insane boost to your Damage. Craft it into a Legendary with T7 Cast Speed. With this Affix on the Gloves and while you have the Nether Coating buff up, you have balanced Attack/Cast Speed for Rot Grip's Damage multiplier. Immortal Vise from Uber Aberroth is an option for much better survivability at the cost of Damage.
- Vipertail is easy to obtain with multiple Legendary Potential and provides Slow Chance. The Melee Attack Speed on it is not important.
- Anchor of Oblivion allows you to easily cap Endurance, on top of increasing Damage and Armor. Replace it with Shattered Worlds when you get it from Uber Aberroth. Get Endurance on your Helmet instead with this Relic.
- Foot of the Mountain grants a ton of Attributes. If you want higher Movement Speed, use Blood of the Exile instead.
- Red Ring of Atlaria is usable even if you don't meet the threshold of 180 total Attributes.

Scaling Tips
- Rot Grip enables the Damage scaling for Time Rot. Slow Chance, Time Rot Chance and Attack/Cast Speed provide huge Damage multipliers thanks to this Passive. For Attack/Cast Speed, the lowest value out of Melee Attack Speed, Throwing Attack Speed and Cast Speed is counted, so you need to balance them.
- Increased Cooldown Recovery Speed: Reducing the Cooldown of Javelin allows you to apply Time Rot more often with it, increasing DPS.
- Dexterity grants Void Penetration with Black Blade of Chaos.
- Titan Heart: Grants Damage Reduction.
- Red Ring of Atlaria: Grants Damage Reduction when you meet the threshold of 180 total Attributes.
- Abyssal Endurance: Void and Physical Damage Reduction.
- Abyssal Fluctuation: Grants Damage Reduction against Void Damage and converts a portion of Elemental Damage taken to Void.
- Singular Purpose: Damage Reduction vs. Slowed and Time Rotting enemies.
