Learn more about Gear & Crafting of the Fireball Cast on Crit Deadeye!

Core Items

The equipment shown is core to the build. Make sure to meet all defensive/offensive thresholds in order for the build to operate at its best.

If you wish to learn about how to craft your own gear like this please refer to our crafting guides to understand the way items like these are created.

Main Hand

Item: Mind Barb

The most important stat on your weapon is the % increased Critical Strike Chance and the % increased Projectile Speed. Since this is an important part of the build to get right, we made a dedicated Crafting Guide about it!

Crafting Guide: Cast On Crit Wand Crafting Guide

Off-Hand

Item: Atziri's Reflection

This shield has a ton of solid stats including Immunity to Curses, which is a vital tool while mapping. However, you can achieve more damage by getting a Rare Shield with +1 to Fire Spell Skills and % Spell Damage, maybe some Life to top it of. While mapping however, Atziri's Reflection is a nobrainer.

Helmet

Item: Brimstone Cowl

There are 2 important stats on your Helmet which are irreplaceable. Those are:

  • Chance to Suppress Spell Damage, which you buy as a fractured mod
  • increased Mana Reservation Efficiency, which you get by using Deafening Essence of Loathing

With the fractured mod + the Essence, we already have 2 Mods locked in, both of which are Suffixes. You can get a decent third mod by using Eldritch Exalted Orbs and Eldritch Orb of Annulments until you hit any high-Tier Resistance or Intelligence as your third Suffix. You can later change to a different Resistance using Harvest if needed.

After that, mods are mostly interchangeable, allthough Life and a crafted Physical Damage taken as Fire are highly encouraged!

For more Info on Eldritch Crafting or Eldritch Implicits, check out our Crafting Guides.

Body Armour

Item: Lightning Coil

This Body Armour ensures that we have a defensive Layer against Physical Hit Damage, by converting it to Lightning Damage, which runs against our Lightning Resistance. This is important because we hardly have access to any Armour on the Passive Tree.

Corruptions are important here, get either one or two of the following:

  • +1 to Level of Socketed Gems
  • +2 to Level of AoE Gems
  • +2 to Level of Projectile Gems

Do note that the +1 to Level of Socketed Gems might help you hit the 52% increased Cooldown Recovery breakpoint!

Gloves

Item: Damnation Knuckle

The Gloves are our most flexible slot. Other than the chance to Suppress Spell Damage and + to Maximum Life, nothing is mandatory. Use them to fix your Dexterity/Intelligence ratio for Leadership's Price or to fix your Resistances.

The shown implicits are important. For more info on how to get them, check out our Eldritch Implicits Crafting Guide.

Boots

Item: Brood Tread

These Boots are made by Crafting with Orb of Dominances and Awakener's Orbs. For easier readability, we made a seperate, in-depth Crafting Guide!

Crafting Guide: Boot Crafting Guide.

Amulet

Item: Leadership's Price

The best-in-slot Amulet is Leadership's Price. It gives us a massive Damage Boost with Brittle and Scorch, while also helping us defensively with Sapped and the Maximum Resistances it provides.
The Maximum Resistances can roll from -3 to +3, so just make sure you get a good one and avoid negative rolls!

For more Info on how this Amulet works, check out the Build Info Section!

Rings

Item 1: Nimis
Item 2: Woe Knot

This build wouldn't exist without Nimis. If you can't afford this Ring, don't play the build. For more Info on how this Ring works, check out the Build Info Section!

The 2nd Ring is mostly flexible, used for fixing Resistances and your Dexterity/Intelligence ratio while getting some extra Life. If you want to investment more into the craft though, you can use Deafening Essence of Scorn to increase your damage even further!

Belt

Item: Ember Casket

The best in slot belt for the build is Headhunter or Mageblood. However, both of these belts are incredibly expensive and can therefore be hard to reach for most players.

Our next best option is a Stygian Vise to fix our Strength, get a ton of extra Life and an Abyssal Socket. We can alternatively fix our Dexterity/Intellicence ratio by crafting the Belt with Deafening Essence of Spite or Deafening Essence of Sorrow.

You can craft up to 12% increased cooldown recovery rate on your Belt as a Suffix, so make sure you check if you need it to reach the 52% threshold!

Flasks

Flasks provide a massive amount of defense and damage. Roll, use and enchant all your flasks to look like this:

  • Diamond Flask
  • Quartz Flask
  • Quicksilver Flask
  • Dying Sun
  • Progenesis

Enchant your flasks with Instilling Orbs:

  • Used when Charges Reach Full

Ensure your non-unique flasks have 1 of these prefixes:

  • +(32–35) to Maximum Charges
  • (31–35)% chance to gain a Flask Charge when you deal a Critical Strike
  • (36–40)% increased Duration
  • (25-28)% reduced Flask Charges Used

Have 1 of each of these suffixes:

  • % increased Movement Speed during Effect
  • % increased Evasion during Effect
  • % increased Critical Strike Chance during Effect

If Progenesis is too expensive for you, use Taste of Hate as a temporary replacement!

Jewels

Cluster Jewel 1

Item: Cluster Jewel

The only important Node here is the Doryani's Lesson, which gives you a source of Elemental Damage Life Leech.

The Jewel I use is the best in slot, a combination of 2 from the following Nodes will do just fine though:

  • Smoking Remains
  • Prismatic Heart
  • Cremator

It is recommended to buy these Jewels from Trade, but you can attempt to use Scorched Fossils to get decent results! For more Info on Fossil Basics, check out our Fossil Crafting Guide.

Cluster Jewel 2

Item: Loath Cut

This Cluster Jewel is a lot more flexible, although the linked Jewel is best-in-slot. You can go for most Notables that give some kind of Elemental/Fire Damage such as:

  • Smoking Remains
  • Prismatic Heart
  • Cremator
  • Doryani's Lesson (you don't need 2 but its better than nothing)
  • Widespread Destruction
  • Disorienting Display

It is recommended to buy these Jewels from Trade, but you can attempt to use Scorched Fossils to get decent results! For more Info on Fossil Basics, check out our Fossil Crafting Guide.

3x Crit Medium Cluster Jewels

Item1: Brood Shard
Item2: Apocalypse Stone
Item3: Dusk Hope

The 2 Prefixes you need on each of these Jewels are:

  • Pressure Points
  • Quick Getaway

You can use the Suffixes to slightly adjust Resistances and the Dexterity/Intelligence ratio.

While you can theoretically craft these items, it is economically inefficient and they should be purchased from Trade at a reasonable price.

AoE Medium Cluster Jewel

Item1 : Loath Essence

The 2 Prefixes you need on each of these Jewels are:

  • Towering Threat
  • Assert Dominance

You can use the Suffixes to slightly adjust Resistances and the Dexterity/Intelligence.

While you can theoretically craft these items, it is economically inefficient and they should be purchased from Trade at a reasonable price.

Militant Faith

Item: Militant Faith

Militant Faith has 2 random mods that grant you bonuses per Devotion. The Jewel itself converts Attributes in its radius into Devotion: for example 10 Dexterity becomes 10 Devotion. It also grants +5 Devotion on any other Node in its radius.

We mainly use Militant Faith to fix our Mana. It has a mod that provides reduced mana cost of Skills per 10 Devotion, which is a must-have on this build. As a 2nd mod there's multiple options, depending on your needs:

  • + to Elemental Resistances per 10 Devotion
  • % Elemental Damage per 10 Devotion
  • % Area Damage per 10 Devotion

Sometimes, Notables in Militant Faith's radius gets converted to a Timeless Jewel Notable instead. You need to find one that DOES NOT convert any notables in its radius.

You can check this by importing the Jewels into your PoB before buying them and just try them out!

Militant Faith
Copy and import the Jewel into your PoB to check for unwanted "transformed notables"

Watcher's Eye

Item: Watcher's Eye

Our Watcher's Eye has one required Mod: Gain 20-30 Life per Enemy Hit while affected by Vitality. This mod coupled with hundreds Projectiles on the screen ensures that our Life Recovery is top notch. After that, there are a few desirable Mods, depending on your needs:

  • % increased Movement Speed while affected by Grace
  • % chance to Suppress Spell Damage while affected by Grace
  • % chance to Evade Attack hits while affected by Grace
  • % increased Critical Strike Chance against Enemies on Consecrated Ground while affected by Zealotry
  • Critical Strikes Penetrate % of Elemental resistances while affected by Zealotry
  • Gain Arcane Surge for 4 Seconds when you create Consecrated Ground while affected by Zealotry
  • % increased Attack Speed while affected by Precision
  • % to Critical Strike Multiplier while affected by Precision

Other Rare Jewels

Item1: Brood Prism
Item2: Eagle Drop
Item3: Hypnotic Wound
Item4: Maelstrom Cut
Item5: Sol Glimmer

The goal of our Rare Jewels is to get as much % increased Maximum Life and %+ to Critical Strike Multiplier as possible while also fixing some other issues:

  • Get 1 Jewel with the Corrupted Blood cannot be inflicted on you corruption.
  • If necessary, get % reduced Mana Cost of Skills.
  • If necessary, fix your Resistances.

In general, every mod that isn't some combination of Critical Strike Multiplier will cost you a ton of damage. You can get Critical Strike Multiplier from the following Mods:

  • + to Critical Strike Multipler with Fire Skills (Prefix)
  • + to Critical Strike Multiplier with Elemental Skills (Suffix)
  • + to Critical Strike Multiplier for Spells (Suffix)
  • + to Critical Strike Multiplier (Suffix)

To craft these Rare Jewels yourself, you can work with fractured Mods and Fossils like Deft Fossil or Scorched Fossil to get a desired outcome, or simply trade for them. For more Info on Fossil Basics, check out our Fossil Crafting Guide.
