Wind Shear Druid Endgame Build Guide

Season 4 - LootA-Tier

Welcome to the Wind Shear Druid Endgame guide for Diablo 4! What this build lacks in area of effect it more than makes up for in damage, and it slates as a premiere Pit Pusher and Bosser for Druids in Season 4! It revolves around the reworked Aspect of the Calm Breeze, which now inflicts Poison Damage over Time to all mobs it passes through. Interestingly, this DoT inherits the Storm and Basic Skill tags from the initial cast of Wind Shear, which allows for some incredible scalars in the form of Moonrise, Adaptability, and Thunderstruck. Past this, we stack a ton of Defensive Skills and some damage sponges in Wolves to stand in and keep blasting.

Though presented here as an endgame guide, this build is relatively straightforward and strong from the very early game. Simply grab Calm Breeze from Grinning Labyrinth and Rapid from Buried Halls and scale up from there!

Our Specialized Builds are late game builds with specific requirements and purposes. The Wind Shear Druid is an exception to this rule, as its existence as a specialized guide is primarily in the interest of time. Barring significant changes, it will become a full 1-100 guide at some point.

Gear, Skill Tree, and Paragon

See below for the two main variants for this build. The Godslayer Crown is meant for general play, while the Tempest Roar is specialized for Torment Bossing and high Pit pushes.

Godslayer
Tempest Roar

The Godslayer Crown variant has relatively high quality of life and is recommended for Open World content, Nightmare Dungeons of any tier, and speedfarming the Pit.

Paragon

Wind Shear Default Paragon Board

This secondary variant is recommended for Torment Bossing and high Pit Pushing. This is technically the higher damage setup (approximately double the damage, in fact), utilizing Wildheart Hunger, Unsatiated, Ancestral Guidance, and Bestial Rampage as additional or improved multipliers. In practice, though, it slightly underperforms in general play due to its intensive buff management, lower Movement Speed and Life total, limited Unstoppable, and lack of grouping from Godslayer Crown.

Paragon

Paragon

See below for the selected Paragon Boards, Paragon point allocation, and the correct Glyphs you should use for the Wind Shear Druid. Note: The Paragon Boards below are the final setup with no steps.

Level 15 Glyphs required: Territorial, Bane, Tracker, Keeper, Earth and Sky, and Electrocution

If you'd prefer slightly more defense, replace Electrocution with either Human or Werewolf depending on the variant you're playing.

Season 4 - Loot Reborn

In Season 4, the Season Theme revolves around helping out the Iron Wolves. Compared to past themes, this one does not offer any borrowed power as the entire game has been redesigned with new itemization and crafting options, increasing player power substantially across the board. Instead, you can gather reputation similar to the Vampire Bounty Board from Season 2 to unlock rewards that supercharge your leveling journey to 100 with extra items, crafting materials and eventually even a Resplendent Spark to craft an uber unique.

We recommend to follow the seasonal questline until you unlock the reputation system, check which rewards suit you most and then follow your regular leveling path. To learn more, check out our full Season 4 guide for more information.

Gameplay

Godslayer Variant

  • Try to maintain your distance at all times!
  • Spam Wind Shear to deal damage and recover cooldowns via Hectic. The Crowd Control tempers available on armor will periodically pull mobs together around Elites thanks to Godslayer Crown.
  • Debilitating Roar inflicts a massive debuff on mobs in a screen-wide range and allows you to stand still to keep attacking in most situations. We scale its duration through Armor tempering and uptime through Ranks on Chest.
  • Cast Blood Howl on Cooldown to bolster your Attack Speed.
  • Hectic prompts us to use Wolves, Trample, and Cyclone Armor as sparingly as possible to get more mileage out of Blood Howl and Debilitating Roar.
  • Use Trample for mobility or as a means to break Crowd Controls.
  • Wolves serve as meat shields and help keep distance against Bosses.

Tempest Roar Variant

This variant plays largely the same as the Godslayer variant, with a few extra steps for buff management:

  • Use Pulverize to maintain the Werebear bonus of Bestial Rampage and refresh Quickshift and Wildheart Hunger. Wind Shear covers the Werewolf component of Bestial Rampage on its own with Tempest Roar. This Attack Speed bonus pushes us to the same breakpoints we typically reach with Rapid, so its dropped for more damage.
  • Earthen Bulwark replaces Trample as a means to break Crowd Controls. It also gives a modest shield and shifts us into Human form, allowing proceeding skill casts to refresh Shapeshifting bonuses.

Gear and Stat Requirements

These builds require specific Aspects, Uniques, Uber Uniques, and Affixes on your gear to perform their primary function. Only deviate from the list below after you have fully learned the intended gameplay style and strategies.

  1. Legendary Aspects:
    • Calm Breeze
    • Moonrise
    • Adaptability
    • Rapid
  2. Uniques:
    • Godslayer Crown
    • Tempest Roar and Wildheart Hunger for Bossing and high Pit Pushes
  3. Key Stat Requirements
    • Attack Speed: Attack speed is paramount on this build. There are two thresholds to aim for before Buffs: 65% and eventually 80%. At 65%, you can cap Attack Speed between Moonrise and an Elixir of Advantage II. Once you get to 80%, you can can afford to swap Elixirs to Elixir of Fortitude II. Note that you can reach the 80% target with 4 greater affixes on fully masterworked gear and do not need any crits to do so.
    • Damage to Distant: This is where you'd prefer to land the vast majority of your masterwork Crits, both for its high-scaling additive component and it's insane multiplicative component from Thunderstruck. It's theoretically possible to scale this multiplier as high as 300%+ in this build! Look for high tempers of this wherever possible.
    • Chance for Wind Shear Projectiles to Cast Twice: We want to reach 100% on this Weapon Temper and no further, as it seems unable to spawn a 3rd projectile within a single cast. It requires an initial temper of at least 59% and one masterwork crit on the way to being fully upgraded to reach this mark.
