Path of Exile's 3.23 Affliction League begins this Friday and to prepare we have several new League Starter guides to get you started in Affliction! Along with the new guides, our existing build guides have been updated to the new patch as well as our currency farming guides. Let's dive into the updates below!

Build Guides

Here are all the New and Updated league start builds for Path of Exile 3.23 Affliction League!

Massive New Build Tool!

We're happy to announce that all of our Build Guides are now found in the new Build Progression Tool! The Maxroll Build Progression tool takes you from level 1 all the way to completing the build. We hope this makes for a seamless leveling experience

If you encounter any bugs head over to our Discord, react to give yourself the Path of Exile Role in #Channels & Roles and tag the author in #poe-maxroll-feedback or open a ticket in #report-new-bug.

Build tool Overview page

If you're already familiar with our guides then the layout should be easy to navigate. Find basic information, recommended strategies, build rating and more on the Overview page. Then proceed to leveling, where we take you through the campaign step by step. We've got Gem locations, Passive progression, tips & tricks and more!

Build tool Leveling page

After you complete the Campaign, head over to the Progression tab, where we take you through the gearing process. Learn about important milestones like upgrading your Flasks, preparing for Red Maps and finishing your build late in the endgame. As you complete a milestone, check it off and watch the equipment automatically update.

If you need to know how your Skill works or why the build uses a specific Unique item, we have the answer in Build Scaling & Mechanics. If you run into trouble, want to know what Map Mods to avoid, or simply want to learn more check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). Finally, we don't know what the best Wildwood Ascendancies are (yet) but if you want a place to start, we have recommendations in the Wildwood Ascendancy / League Tab. After Affliction begins and our Path of Exile Team gets to experience things first hand, we'll update our recommendations!

A huge thanks to our dev Spirit for all his hard work on the tool!

New League Starters

Picking a build can be one of the hardest parts of a new league in Path of Exile, it's often overwhelming, so our guides walk you through the leveling process and gearing using Milestones! For Affliction, we've updated our existing League Starters and added several new options, including some of the hot new meta starters!

Detonate Dead Ignite Elementalist

The Detonate Dead Elementalist is a league start beast. This is another build that can do it all. Mapping, Bossing, pretty much all content in the game is available to you with this one build. All it takes is two button presses, one Desecrate and one Detonate Dead and every single monster in this game will fall before you...eventually.

Explode the Corpses of your foes, or ones you spawn, with Detonate Dead causing an Ignite to deal DoT damage which you refresh thanks to Defiled Forces + Arcanist Brand. Since Detonate Dead scales off of corpse life and we can get high health corpses from a Level 20 Desecrate, this build obtains all the damage it needs easily. Because of this reason, DD Elementalist has been a staple SSF and HCSSF Uber Boss Racing build for years.

Summon Raging Spirit Guardian

^ Summon Raging Spirit Guardian ^

The Summon Raging Spirit Guardian is one of the smoothest progressing builds currently in Path of Exile.

Its Summon Raging Spirit minions aggressively seek out enemies, creating a hybrid feel that's more active but with the comfort of a "fire and forget" minion playstyle.

The Guardian Ascendancy has a very easy leveling experience as well as some of the most comfortable defensive nodes available. The endgame is a breeze with low investment and can take on the challenge of Hardcore Solo Self-Found.

New Team Members!

If you've been looking around our build guides you might have noticed some new faces, today we're happy to officially welcome Void241 and Subtractem to the Maxroll Team!

Void241

Void loves experimenting and trying new builds and playstyles. His main focus is on making builds which are comfortable to play and push synergistic interactions to the limit!

Subtractem

Subtractem did software and game dev for 20 years before becoming a content creator. He focuses on new player education and easy, fun to play builds.

Crafting & Currency Guides

Our crafting section has been overhauled and updated with new crafting guides for 3.22. Many of these crafting guides are tied directly to our build guides and can be found within them as well.

We've updated our currency farming menu and have added a new guide for Sanctum Farming! More updates coming to this section once the League starts, and we can test out some strategies.

Stay Up to Date

That's everything we know so far about Path of Exile's 3.23 Affliction League, we hope you enjoy the new Tool & updated guides, but the work is only just beginning. Our team will be hard at work refining our new and existing League Starters after Affliction releases based on your feedback and exploring the Viridian Wildwood for the most broken strategies!

Are you looking for more news on Path of Exile builds, events, and upcoming patches? Then head over to our Discord and select the Path of Exile role in #roles to stay up to date with our content development. Stay sane, Exile!
