Map Corruption Changes & More QoL
In Path of Exile Necropolis changes are coming to Map corruption outcomes along with more QoL updates, this time for the Horticrafting Station.
Map Corruption
The focus of these changes is allowing for more tradability, removing the need to trust someone if you want to buy the crafting results from Betrayal.
When you corrupt a Map using a Vaal Orb it no longer has a chance to become Unidentified. Instead, it could gain one of the powerful new corrupted implicit modifiers!
Here are a few of the modifiers we've seen so far:
- +10% Item Quantity.
- +10% Pack Size.
- Atlas Passives have 10% increased Effect on Area.
- Players' Vaal Skills do not apply Soul Gain Prevention.
- Map crafting options for this Map have no cost.
Tenkiei's Thoughts: This is a very cool way to remove a player frustration. Corrupting your own maps for the Unid bonus was fun and you could always Regex them beforehand, but purchasing a corrupted Unid map was often a dangerous gamble. Does it have high quant/packsize, or are you going to run into no regen plus reflect and die instantly? With the new corrupted implicit modifiers, that frustration has been removed.
There's also some genuinely cool effects, enhancing atlas passives for more loot, or applying your favorite 14c craft for free. I'm not sure the Soul Gain Prevention implicit is too practical but it might enable some Vaal Skill-focused mapping builds.
Horticrafting Update
Necropolis League is truly shaping up to be the quality of life league. In addition to the Map corruption changes, we're getting an update to the Harvest Horticrafting Station.
The Horticrafting Station now displays your item's stats while crafting. This makes it much easier to gauge your crafting project while it's in progress or see what you rolled and if you want to reapply the Harvest craft.
