Thunder Ace Voltran Boss Guide
Last Updated:June 10, 2025|Changelog
Thunder Ace Voltran is the Lightning Elemental Boss in Wizard of Legend 2. About halfway through each of the game's first 3 Zones, you encounter a random Elemental Boss. But since there are more than 3 Elemental Bosses, it's possible you may never encounter Voltran during your run. If you do, though, this Boss Guide details Thunder Ace Voltran's core and enrage mechanics, discusses strategies to avoid these mechanics, and demonstrates how to take him down with an example gameplay video.
Now you see him, now you don't. Try to keep up with Thunder Ace Voltran's lightning-fast mechanics!

Mechanics
- Dash - This attack comes in sets of two to four, depending on how late in the game you encounter Voltran. He does a short windup during which a line is drawn to indicate his path through the player's current position. You must react quickly to avoid the impending dashes.
- Lightning Spinner - Voltran dashes to the player's position while simultaneously casting 5 orbiting balls of lightning around him. After a brief delay, the orbs stop their rotation and explode outward. Mimic his dash and give him a little space to minimize damage taken.
- Heavenly Strikes - Similar to the Standard Arcana players wield, Voltran summons multiple strikes at a time, which have extended durations and rapidly reposition themselves toward the player. It's best to keep moving away until the strikes subside.
- Lightning Sweep - Voltran summons three successive volleys of lightning bolts, indicated by drawn lines before fired. The first starts on his right side and converges toward the player's location. The second starts on the left side and does the same. The third volley actually has a safe space at the player's location and radiates away to either side. The last one does not require you to move at all.
Enrage Mechanic - On low life, Voltran ascends into the sky and unleashes a barrage of lightning strikes near the player. At the end of this maneuver, Voltran lands directly on top of the player, dealing damage in a larger AoE. Do your best to avoid the strikes with movement and hold your dash for his final descent when you sense it coming.
Rewards
As an Elemental Boss, defeating Thunder Ace Voltran awards you with an Arcane Chromo, used to unlock and upgrade Runes at Nazradin. Further, besting an Elemental Boss reveals an Arcana Crystal that gives you three choices to upgrade one of your existing Arcana to one of their Forgotten Variants.

Summary
As an Elemental Boss, Thunder Ace Voltran has a chance to spawn roughly halfway through each of Wizard of Legend 2's major zones. Voltran is expectedly quick but doesn't pack too hard a punch, so do your best to avoid his fast-hitting attacks while keeping the pressure on. Defeating him awards you with an Arcane Chromo and the option to upgrade one of your Arcanas to its Variant form.
