Weapon Mastery Guide
Last Updated:March 26, 2025|Changelog
Talandre is finally here! Along with Throne and Liberty's first major expansion, Weapon Mastery has been reworked! This new system allows for even further customization to ensure your weapon combination fits the playstyle you desire.
With the new system, Weapon Mastery effects no longer require specific weapons to be out. This means keeping a Dagger's Weapon Mastery effect, while using Crossbow skills as a Scorpion. The cap for Weapon Mastery has increased to 200, keep in mind that one weapon at the previous Mastery level of 20 is the equivalent of 80 levels in the reworked system. In this new system, players can unlock various nodes and choose between Attack, Defense, and more Utility types of effects.
NCSoft updated the sources for Weapon Mastery EXP to provide more experience for activities such as Gate of Infinities, Daily / Weekly Contracts, and Co-Op Dungeons. Completionists rejoice as reaching total Weapon Mastery levels across all your weapons unlocks additional skills, called Overall Mastery Skills.

Weapon Mastery Nodes
NCSoft split the new Weapon Mastery System into 4 different sections: Support, Attack, Tactics, and Defense. The Support and Tactics sections tend to offer more utility for the weapons whereas, the Offense and Defense sections offer exactly what their titles suggest.
Within each section lies various nodes that you can unlock by spending Sollant and Precious Ores. Once unlocked, use Mastery Skill Points to actually spec into the node. Players spec into Expertise, Augment, and Intensity Nodes, while they can obtain additional Achievement Effects based on the various nodes they've selected. Each section has 1 Heroic Node, and players can spec into 2 Heroic Nodes per weapon.
Expertise, Augments, and Intensity Nodes
Sorted between Common, Uncommon, and Rare these are the main nodes to unlock and spec into. After 30 Points are put into various Common Nodes, Uncommon Nodes are then unlocked. Rare Nodes have similar requirements where 30 points in Uncommon Nodes are required for these final nodes. Each of these nodes can be unlocked with 1 point and then upgraded for higher efficiency with a maximum of 10 total points per node.
Expertise Nodes often grant 2 buffs to the user.

Augment Nodes often grant just 1 type of buff to the user.

Intensity Nodes often grant 1 buff to the user at the expense of 1 negative effect.

Achievement Effects
Split between Common, Uncommon, and Rare sections, players unlock Achievement Effects once at least 20 Points are invested into Expertise, Augment, and/or Intensity Nodes of the same rarity and within the same section. These nodes don't require Mastery Skill Points, and they can't be upgraded. Often times, these nodes affect the weapon's Passive and Active Skills by adding or augmenting the skill itself. Selecting specific Achievement Effects can be tricky, as the game normally prioritizes the sections with the most Mastery Points invested into. The system allows each weapon only 2 Achievement Effects per rarity.
Heroic Nodes
Each weapon contains 4 total Heroic Nodes split between each category, 1 Support, Attack, Tactics, and Defense Heroic Node. These nodes are unique in that the first node becomes as players invest 80 Mastery Points into anywhere, whereas the 2nd Heroic Node unlocks once players invest 120 Mastery Points anywhere. The Heroic Nodes also require at least 1 Achievement Effect to unlock within its respective section. For example, unlock at least 1 Attack Achievement Effect and 80 points invested anywhere on the Weapon Mastery Tree to be able to use that weapon's Attack Heroic Node.

Each weapon contains 1-2 Intensity Nodes that grant additional Attributes once fully leveled.

Weapon Mastery EXP Sources
Weapon Mastery EXP is gained directly to the equipped weapons while killing monsters. Spending Abyssal Contract Tokens in Open World Dungeons is the main method for increased Mastery EXP gain. Alternatively, doing various content in the game grants Universal Weapon Mastery EXP. Use the "Level Up" option in the Weapon Mastery UI to select which weapons to feed this Universal Weapon Mastery EXP to.
