You can only slot 1 Defense Skill on your bar, whose default key is "Q." You use this skill to block attacks to take no damage. More commonly, they're used to block Fury Attacks.

Each weapon has access to 1 Defense Skill.
- Sword and Shield - Shield Survival Technique
- Greatsword - Iron Point Parry
- Dagger - Block Blade
- Crossbow - Rupturing Parry
- Longbow - Overtaker
- Staff - Mystic Shield
- Wand and Tome - Chaotic Shield
Active Skills
You can only place 12 Active Skills on your bar at any given time. You start the game at Level 1 with 4 Active Skills each and gain more skills as you level. See the image above for the levels at which you unlock skills.
- Blessed Barrier
- Precision Dash
- Witty Strike
- Chain Lightning
- Brutal Incision

Passive Skills
You can only place 8 Passive Skills on your bar at any given time. You unlock Passive Skills slowly as you level. Passive Skills mainly offer Stat boosts or affect your Active Skills in some form. Here are some examples:
- Sniper's Sense
- Eagle Vision
- Assassin's Instincts
- Asceticism
- Impenetrable
- Indomitable Armor
- Noble Revival
Upgrading Skills
Throughout your journey, you acquire Quality Active Skill Growth Book and Quality Passive Skill Growth Book. Upgrading Active Skills requires the Active Skill version of the Book and vice versa with Passive Skills. Click the golden arrow button on the top left of the skill to upgrade it.

At Level 1, you need only 1 Skill Growth Book to start upgrading your skill. When you click the upgrade button, you have a 40% chance to hit a common growth, a 30% chance to hit an intermediate growth, a 20% chance to hit a greater growth, and a 10% chance to hit a special growth.
- Common Growth - Fills 40% of the Growth Bar to Next Level.
- Intermediate Growth - Fills 50% of the Growth Bar to Next Level.
- Greater Growth - Fills 70% of the Growth Bar to Next Level.
- Special Growth - Fills 100% of the Growth Bar to Next Level.
If your growth bar is 50%, and you hit a Greater Growth upgrade, 50% is used to get you to the next level, and 20% of the bar of the next level is filled.
Skills have 3 Tiers (so far), Quality (Green), Rare (Blue), and Epic (Purple). Here's an example.

Swapping Skills
Don't worry if you've upgraded a skill for a weapon and suddenly decide you want to use another weapon. You can use the Swap tab to transfer a Skill's level over to another using Skill Conversion Book. You can purchase this in the Special Shop for Lucent.

Skill Specialization
Once you're level 15, you unlock Skill Specializations. You start with 15 Skill Specialization points. Every level up to 30 gives you 2 more points to use. From Level 31 and onward, you gain 3 more every level until you reach 100 points at Level 50. You can use these points to modify how your skills function or add bonuses.
To access the Skill Specialization menu, open up your skills window and go to the 2nd tab. You'll see an example of how we represent Skills and their Specializations below.
