Skill Gems

Ensure your skill gems are of the right quality (Superior, Anomalous, Divergent or Phantasmal).

Some gems need to be a certain level to function. This is especially important for some auras and certain defensive setups.

Follow the guides instructions to get the specifics on what levels and qualities are needed. Not every gem needs to be at maximum level.

Skill Breakdown

Impending Doom

  • Impending Doom Support - When a supported Hex curse is cast, a debuff is applied to the target. When the Hex expires or is removed it triggers Doom Blast, dealing Chaos Damage in an area around it.
  • Temporal Chains - Curses enemies in an area, reducing their action speed and making temporary effects on them expire more slowly.
  • Spell Cascade Support - Causes linked spells to repeat in front and behind of the targeted location at the cost of reduced area of effect and damage. This is upgraded to Awakened Spell Cascade Support when you have more currency.
  • Divergent Void Manipulation Support - Is a major boost to your Chaos Damage, at the Cost of dealing no Elemental Damage. The Divergent quality grants Life leech on hit.
  • Awakened Added Chaos Damage Support - Grants a massive amount of additional Chaos Damage.
  • Anomalous Awakened Unbound Ailments Support - Grants more damage with Ailments and a large amount of Poison duration.

Impending Doom

  • Anomalous Despair - Reduces enemy Chaos Resistance. The Anomalous quality makes cursed enemies take increased damage from Damage over Time effects.
  • Enfeeble - Curses enemies in an area, lowering their Damage and Accuracy.
  • Punishment - Curses enemies, causing them to take increased Damage when they are below 50% life.
  • Spell Cascade Support - Causes linked spells to repeat in front and behind of the targeted location at the cost of reduced area of effect and damage. This is upgraded to Awakened Spell Cascade Support when you have more currency.

Auras

Core Auras

  • Determination - Scales our Physical damage reduction and Molten Shell shield value.
  • Grace - Scales our Evasion stat giving us a much higher chance of avoiding Attack based damage.
  • Divergent Herald of Agony - Grants more damage with Poisons, as well as Poison chance on hit.
  • Enhance Support - Provides additional gem quality to Herald of Agony granting additional chance to Poison.

Secondary Auras

  • Malevolence - Casts an aura that multiplies Damage over Time and increases Skill Effect Duration of you and your allies.
  • Divine Blessing Support supports permanent auras, changing their reservation to a cost and making them temporary.
  • Increased Duration Support - Grants increased Skill Effect Duration.

Utility

Mobility

  • Flame Dash - is a movement Spell that causes the player to teleport to a target location. It is essential for mobility and dodging attacks.
  • Shield Charge is a movement skill that charges you towards a targeted location. Both Attack and Movement Speed make this skill faster.
  • Faster Attacks Support - Enhances the Attack Speed of Shield Charge increasing clear speed.

Defence

  • Cast when Damage Taken Support - Automatically triggers the linked Spell skill gems when taking a hit. Lower levels of Cast When Damage Taken require less damage to trigger (Use Level 6 for this build).
  • Molten Shell - provides an immense absorption shield based on your Armour for a short duration. Molten Shell triggers when taking damage to grant you mitigation when you need it most (Use level 13 for this build).
  • Increased Duration Support - Grants increased skill effect duration.

Offence

  • Anomalous Withering Step grants the Elusive Buff, temporarily increasing our Movement Speed and Damage Avoidance. It also applies the Wither Debuff to nearby enemies, increasing the damage they take from Chaos Damage.

Jewel Locations

Certain Jewels require specific placement on the passive tree, you can find these locations below.

The Jewel Socket on the edge of the passive tree Near Eldritch Battery should only be allocated after you have acquired the Cataclysm Glisten jewel to socket within it. Make sure to refer to the gear page for information on what clusters you must use for this build.

Tattoos

Passive Skill Tree Tattoos redefine character building in Path of Exile! They excel at covering for a build's weaknesses by converting unneeded Attributes into Resistances, damage, and quality of life. Choosing the ideal Tattoos for your build often comes down to your specific gearing choices, to learn more about optimizing Passive Skill Tree Tattoos check out our full guide here.
