Gear Set Guide
Last Updated:October 6, 2024|Changelog
Introduction
Gear Sets in Lost Ark become available starting with Abyssal Dungeons and Abyss Raids, and then with Legion and Kazeros Raids.. On successful completion, these reward you materials that can be used to craft the set of your choice or upgrade your current set. Let's go over how to find them and which sets to craft down below.
Available Sets
Despite the early game sets being very similar in nature, your set choice still impacts your performance depending on if you are Damage Dealer or Support Character. The following are the available gear sets for Tier 1, 2 and 3.
While there are early game sets that can be crafted from completing Abyssal Dungeons, these should generally be ignored as your character growth will be too quick to make use of them!
Available sets
- Enraged Nature Chestpiece
- Boisterous Elemental Chestpiece
- Unyielding Will Chestpiece
- Mute Guardian Chestpiece
Punika offers players two sets that are used as stepping stones towards the End Game gear, do not put effort into completing full sets of these, rather mix them to have all gear slots upgraded to Legendary as soon as possible.
Available sets
Abyssal Dungeon Set
- Erupting Waves Chestpiece
Argos Set
- Piercing Gaze Chestpiece
Legion Raid Relic sets have a base item level of 1250, which is the same as Legendary equipment made from Argos and Oreha. These items transfer 1:1 with your current gear and unlock upgrading up to ilvl 1575 (+20). Relic set pieces provide higher stat values, which are worth pursuing for greater damage output. All sets require materials from both Valtan and Vykas to be fully completed. These can be obtained from Hard Mode and Normal Mode of each Legion Raid.

25x Covetous Wings | 10x Demon Beast Bone | 10x Demon Beast Bone | 10x Demon Beast Bone | 10x Covetous Wings | 10x Demon Beast Bone |
Legion Raid Ancient sets have a base item level of 1390(Brelshaza) and 1525(Akkan), both Brelshaza and Akkan gear sets act as a soft reset when transferring your items over your current existing gear. Brelshaza gear requires Phantom Intentions while Akkan needs Eye of Decay to be crafted. These materials can be obtained from Hard Mode and Normal Mode of each Legion Raid.

Gear Crafting
The NPC for crafting gear sets can be found in any major city, shown as a sword symbol with a green background on the map. Depending on the gear tier you're crafting, you might have to be in the corresponding continent to do so.
Gear Conversion
Gear conversion allows you to freely swap your set effect around. You can save your newly converted gear set effect into another preset by saving it.
Gear Transfer
Gear Transfer allows you to convert a "lower-grades" gear set into a new one. It's often used to soft-reset honing chances so you can keep Honing to increase its level.
Since new grades of Gear Sets have a higher base item level, transferring them usually means you gain item level despite lowering the honing upgrade level. Here's the conversion tables for each soft-reset:

Tier 4
Tier 4 Raids still give materials to craft Gear Sets, but those don't provide a bonus effect anymore. Instead, they give Evolution points for your Ark Passive tree.
- Each Tier 4 Relic Armor piece gives 8 points.
- Each Tier 4 Ancient Armor piece gives 20 points.
Tier 3 Gear sets can be transferred to Tier 4 Gear sets in the Gear Honing NPC, the same way all older sets are transferred.
First Tier 4 Gear Set
The first Tier 4 Gear set is obtained from Kinuat Fortress, a new dungeon in North Kurzan that serves as a transition point into Tier 4 content.
Kinuat Fortress can be entered 3 times a day, and you are guaranteed to obtain a Kinuat Fortress Relic Set Selection Box after defeating the final boss for each first daily clear. Additional gear pieces can be obtained as a random drop from the final boss of the dungeon.
Tip: It's recommended to save up the selection chest to pick your last required piece.
Tier 4 Ancient Gear Set
With the upcoming Kazeros Raid "Aegir", you get access to Ancient Gear Sets which give more Evolution Points for Ark Passive and is the point in which you should finally switch over to the Ark Passive system.
