Rune System Guide

Runes in Throne and Liberty work similarly to other MMOs. They are slotted into your Weapons and Accessories to grant you stat bonuses. In addition to stat bonuses, slotting in the right combination will grant you Rune Synergies.

The Rune Book

Press 'ESC', go to the 'Item' section, and open the Rune Book.

1. Unlocking Rune Slots

To unlock rune sockets, you must click one of the three slots in Box 1 shown in the image above. The image already shows sockets opened, but for slots that are not already unlocked, you will see the socket opening window.

Clicking a Rune Slot in the Rune Management Window will open a window to unlock a socket of your choosing. The three types of sockets fit either Rare Attack Rune: Weapon, Rare Defense Rune: Weapon, or Rare Support Rune: Weapon.

2. Rune Synergies

In the section of the image labeled 2, you see your current Rune Synergy.

You get powerful Synergy effects depending on the Rune Sockets unlocked in each slot. Six different Synergy effects depend on the order of the Rune Sockets.

3. Leveling Up Runes

When you receive a Rune, you gain EXP for that Rune effect. In the image, you can see the EXP bar below the Rune name.

Runes can reach Level 80, with the maximum stats available at Level 80.

You can acquire Runes for various game activities.

The Best Rune Synergies

Depending on your needs, only a few Synergies are worth using on your weapons and accessories.

Weapon Synergies (Listing only useful ones)

Strength 4, Critical Damage Resistance 7%
Dexterity 4, Attack Speed +3.5%
Wisdom 4, Debuff Duration -3.5%
Perception 4, Shield Block Penetration Chance 10.5%

Necklace Synergies

DPS usually forgoes Synergies and slots in 3 Hit Chance runes.
