Fishing is something to do in your downtime. You can acquire amazing cooking materials through fishing but it doesn't directly contribute toward your gear progression. This Fishing Guide teaches you how to fish and where to get better fishing rods.

Fishing Basics

  1. Equip any Fishing Rod into this slot like Bamboo Fishing Rod.
  2. Equip any bait.
    • Paste Bait
      • You get 50 daily from the Contract Coin Merchant.
    • Bait Worm
    • Bait Shrimp
    • Bait Fish Fillet
      • Dissolve fish.

Steps to Fish

  1. Have your fishing rod out by clicking it and having bait on.
  2. Have the blue indicator on any body of water and then press "F."
  3. Once a fish has been caught, two stamina bars appear.
    • The fish's stamina bar is orange.
    • You have a green stamina bar.
  4. In the direction that the fish is moving, pull the rod in the opposite direction to deplete the fish's stamina.
  5. Stop pulling left or right for a second to recover your stamina.
  6. Repeat until the fish is caught.

How to Get Fishing Rods

There are two ways to acquire better fishing rods.

    • Chance to acquire Platinum Fishing Rod
  2. Crafting
    • All these recipes require Nature's Jade.
      • Recipe: Steel Fishing Rod
      • Recipe: Monster Bone Fishing Rod
      • Recipe: Tevent Fishing Rod
    • Nature's Jade is acquired from Small Sack and Big Sack that you get from fishing.

Rare Fish Sources

Most rare fish come from fishing in unique spots or under certain conditions. Hints for these locations and conditions are given in the description of the fish. If you're reading this fishing guide and you know the specific spots for these fish, please let us know!

Blue Fish

  1. Ballan Wrasse
    • Lives in rocky areas.
  2. Barracuda
    • Lives in warm, clear waters.
  3. Blacktail Snook
    • Found in oceans with warmer climates.
  4. Blacktip Shark
    • It is only active when it rains.
  5. Fonsiné Barracuda
    • Native to the Fonsiné River in Belphoret.
  6. Imp Catalupa
    • It is found in lakes and rivers in areas with warm water temperatures.
  7. Lanquis Carp
    • Lives in rivers and streams.
  1. Mahi Mahi
    • It lives in warm climates and stays near the water's surface.
    • It sometimes follows around ships or floating objects.
  2. Pajama Cardinalfish
    • It lives in freshwater bodies.
  3. Peacock Bass
    • It is a large freshwater fish.
  4. Red Salmon
    • After spawning, some stay behind in the fresh water and migrate to freshwater lakes.
  5. Skipjack Tuna
    • It is active only when it rains.
    • It moves across the ocean to change its habitat several times during its life cycle.

Green Fish

  1. Amberjack
    • It lives in waters in temperate climates.
  2. Arowana
    • It lives in freshwater with warm water temperatures.
  3. Banded Butterflyfish
    • It lives in coral reefs and is usually only active during the day.
  4. Kahawai
    • It is mainly found in shallow waters. 
  5. Lanquis Barracuda
    • It's native to the rivers of Lanquis, but is currently found in freshwater throughout Solisium.
  6. Luderick
    • It mainly lives in clean fresh water with lots of vegetation.
  1. Mackerel
    • It lives in cold, clear seas, staying somewhere between the surface and mid-depth of the water.
    • In the spring and summer, they stay in shallow places and move to deeper water in the fall.
  2. Mantis Shrimp
    • Generally lives in a burrow it makes on the coast in warm climates.
  3. Small-Mouthed Rockfish
    • Commonly found in rivers. They prefer cold and clear water.
  4. Solisium Carp
    • It lives in freshwater and is known to be quite difficult to catch.
  5. Squid
    • It can be found throughout Solisium's sea, from the coast to the deep sea.
  6. Taion Moray Eel
    • It lives in schools near reefs in shallow waters, especially coral reefs.
