Wand / Staff Leveling Build Guide
Last Updated:May 27, 2025|Changelog
Welcome to the Wand / Staff leveling build guide. Wand / Staff is one of the fastest leveling builds. The Staff is a strong weapon to use while leveling because it's early access to AoE damage and rotations like Serial Fire Bombs and Inferno Wave.
Once unlocking Skill Specializations at Level 30, Wand / Staff gains access to a lot of AoE. This build ranks very high during early and late game Dynamic Events. You do not experience Mana issues due to abilities like Inner Peace and Asceticism.

Stat Priorities
Use the following stat priority when following the Wand / Staff Leveling build:
- Level 1 - 21
- 20 Dexterity
- Level 22 - 41
- 20 Wisdom
- Level 42 - 55
- 13 Perception
You have 54 Stat Points you can freely allocate to any of the 5 primary Stats. Once you put 20 points into an individual Stat, it takes 2 points to increase the Stat by 1. Do not put more than 20 points into a Stat unless absolutely necessary.
You get bonuses for every 10 Stat Points you invest from 30 to 60. You invest your points based on acquiring these bonuses.
Dexterity not only adds maximum Weapon Damage but also increases your Crit Chance, Evasion, and Attack Speed. Increasing Dexterity is your best method of increasing your damage output. Wisdom is the next best stat for improving your Weapon Damage. Each added point into Wisdom also provides extra Cooldown Speed and Mana Regen.
Key Leveling Notes
- Focus on the Main Story Quest as you level to 55. The MSQ is going to be your main source of EXP.
- Before leaving Kastleton during Chapter 3, craft as much Green Gear as possible!
- When your story quests introduce you to Resistance Contracts, be sure to choose ones that give Quality Lithograph: Accessories first!
- You need an additional 4 Quality Lithograph: Accessories for Chapter 4 because there is an Appendix Quest to complete a Lithograph Book entry. Complete Rustic Mother Nature Rings to acquire Lethal Fortune Ring.
Gear Progression
Use the blue and purple gear obtained from your Adventure Codex to complete your MSQ. Prioritize blue gear from the Adventure Codex rewards that have Wisdom and Mana Regen. Do not trait this gear either as you will be quickly transferring them into tier 1 purple gear.
When completing the Syleus's Abyss 1F-2F Exploration Codex, select Robert's Focus Necklace as your reward.
Wand / Staff Leveling Build
Choose the following tier 2 purple gear from your Talandre Adventure Codex rewards:
- Paramount Greaves of the Resistance
- Hallowed Gloves of the Resistance
- Hallowed Shoes of the Resistance

Skill Rotation
Here are some examples of skills you should use when following the Wand / Staff leveling build:
- Before unlocking your Skill Specializations, spread Time for Punishment and stacks of Touch of Despair to grouped mobs using Karmic Haze before delivering a powerful nuke with your Curse Explosion.
- Besides your Curse Explosion rotation, Chain Lightning, Serial Fire Bombs, and Inferno Wave are your other strong DPS skills. At Level 30, you unlock the AoE potential of Chain Lightning.
- Ice Spear and the Fireball Barrage fire combo with Skill Specializations are your main single target nukes.
- Use Frost Smokescreen to quickly move from place to place.
- Your Curse Explosion combo paired with spreading stacks of Touch of Despair using Chaotic Shield provides a majority of your AoE DPS.
Skill Priority Upgrade
- Use Quality Marind Ore to craft Quality Passive Skill Growth Book and Quality Active Skill Growth Book
- Use Rare Marind Ore to craft Rare Passive Skill Growth Book and Rare Active Skill Growth Book.
- Prioritize getting all these skills to blue first before getting them to purple. These are universal skills you always use.
- Upgrade the rest of your skills as you play the game.
