Echidna Gate 2 Guide
The second gate of Echidna is slightly more complex than the previous gate. It is not because of its patterns, but because of the constant risk that your teammates will become charmed by Echidna's beauty and turn against you.

Raid Mechanics
Raid mechanics cover the passive mechanics that are persistent through the entire raid.
Charm
Certain mechanics and patterns apply on hit a charm debuff stack to players, which lasts for 30 seconds and is displayed above their head.
Upon reaching 3 stacks, the player gets charmed, gets into PvP mode and starts to attack teammates.
Use Sleep Bomb on the player to lift the charm.
The entire Battlefield consists of multiple hexagon shaped tiles. They can be either in clean or corrupted state. Some patterns and interactions can change the state of each tile from clean to corrupted or vice versa.
Clean
Corrupted
Corrupted tiles get activated during certain patterns and will start to glow red.
Touching those tiles will increase your charm stacks.
If a tile fully gets surrounded by other corrupted tiles, a gigantic flower will bloom on it. Once this happens, the affected and the surrounding tiles will give charm stacks to players stepping on it.
The Charm Meter displayed on the top left of your screen fills up over time. Additionally, every time a player get charmed, it gets a slight progress boost.
Once the Charm Meter reaches certain thresholds, the following forced patterns will occur.
Telegraph
- This pattern occurs once the Charm Meter fills up to 25% or 75%.
- Two players will be marked with a crosshair above their head and will be shortly after traced by a big line attack.
- Two other players get a ring below their feet, which slowly fills up. Once full, the tile the player stands on will be corrupted.
Description
- Don't step on the red glowing corrupted tiles to avoid getting charmed.
- The two players marked with the crosshair should point the AoE away from their teammates, wait until it locks to dodge the attack. Dodging too late can be fatal.
- At any given time, there are two randomly selected blue highlighted tiles at the edge of the battlefield. Everyone needs to be aware of the position of those two tiles for this pattern.
- The 2 players, marked with the ring below their feet, need to stand on 2 separate tiles before the ring fills up. The tiles they stand on need to fulfill the following criteria:
- It needs to be a clean tile.
- It is either a tile which is on the connecting path between the 2 blue highlighted tiles, or one next to those. It can be a blue highlighted tile too, as long as it is clean.
- Avoid overlapping it on a corrupted tile, since it will force a small flower to bloom on it. The affected tile applies charm stack upon contact.
Telegraph
- This pattern occurs once the Charm Meter fills up to 50% or 100%.
- Camera zooms out, and you view the battefield through a mirror.
- The Boss teleports to one of the blue highlighted tiles. A mirror spawns on the other blue highlighted tile.
- Each player gets a big pink circle around them.
- After a short delay, all players will be imprisoned. The mirror shoots a laser, which bounces from player to player.
Description
- The goal is to create a path from the mirror to the boss and force the laser to hit the boss.
- If done correctly, it turns all corrupted tiles the laser passed through into clean ones. So the ideal path the palyer creates consist of as many corrupted tiles as possible (Max 8).
- The following criteria should be paid attention to, to avoid mistakes:
- Avoid forcing the laser through a clean tile, since it flips it into a corrupted one.
- The laser bounces to the next closest player or boss. But if the next target is too far away, it won't bounce at all, which leads to failing this mech.
- You don't have to stand on the boss' or mirror's blue tile to connect them. But make sure that the mirror's laser hits the first player.
- If a player stands in the pink circle of a another player when the imprisonment happens, that player will get charmed immediately.
- After successfully completing this mechanic, 2 other tiles at the edge of the battlefield will be randomly selected as blue highlighted tiles. Supports should scout for these and call out their positions for future tile flips.
If you fail to complete this mechanics for the second time, it leads to a raid wipe.
After resolving the x137 HP Huge Echidna Mechanic, you will be teleported to the basement, which leads to the following changes:
- Max Ally Skill Segments are increased by 1. (5⇾6)
- The battlefield gets surrounded by walls. If Echidna's abilities hit and force players to collide with the walls, the Charm Meter gets a progress boost.
Telegraph
- This pattern occurs once the Charm Meter fills up to 50%.
- The boss opens her arms and looks towards the sky, while being surrounded by a pink aura.
- Multiple red telegraphs expand from the walls, followed by huge snakes after a short delay.
Description
- Common Method: Raid lead uses Ally Skill: Ephernia as soon as Echidna opens her arms to burn all walls and skip the rest of this mechanic.
- Uncommon Method
- Locate and group up at the closest wall, which displays a red outline upon hover.
- Supports use Flame Grenade on that wall to delay its red telegraph.
- Wait for the other wall's snakes to pass through. Afterward, move away from the burning wall's telegraph.
Telegraph
- This pattern occurs once the Charm Meter fills up to 100%.
- Boss disappears into the ground and summons multiple clones performing a cone-shaped attack.
- Echidna reappears in the center and gets stationary. She occasionally targets a random player marked by a crosshair with a cone attack.
- Small snakes spawn at the edge of the battle and move towards the boss.
- Towards the end of the pattern, clone's of Echidna spawn and attempt to stun players in front of them.
Description
- Dodge the clone's attack. And move to x3 and x3+1 positions.
- From the moment Echidna reappears in the center, you should avoid looking directly at her until this pattern is over. Otherwise, you will obtain charm stacks.
- If you get targeted by Echidna's cone attacks, try to move away from that area as soon as it locks and an expanding blue telegraph appears. This attack charms the player on hit.
- Prevent the snakes from reaching the boss to avoid a raid wipe.
- Normal snakes die after they got hit a certain amount of time. Flame Grenade are effective against this type of snakes.
- Shielded snakes die as soon as they get CCed by a skill or by Sleep Bomb. (Hard Mode only)
- Dodge the clone's attacks by moving away from their front.
Main Mechanics
Main mechanics occur at certain HP intervals.
Telegraph
- A cutscene happens.
- Eight waves of seven mirrors in a line slowly approach the players, while leaving a trail of pink puddles behind.
- Occasionally, the mirrors to the sides of the players shoot a laser indicated by a red telegraph, which stuns on hit.
Description
- The goal is to survive the 8 waves by countering the mirror with echidna's portrait, which looks at a different direction than the other 6 mirrors, while dodging the red lasers. The red lasers appear only in Hard Mode.
- Countering the wrong mirror imprisons the player. Don't prioritize imprisoned players. Instead, keep focusing on countering the correct mirrors.
- The damaging pink puddle trails left behind by a line disappear as soon you counter the correct mirror.
- After successfully resolving this mechanic, the boss gets staggered. Focus on dealing damage and use Ally Skill: Azena.
Telegraph
- After a short cutscene, players are teleported to a different area.
- A gigantic Echidna appears at the top side of the area.
- Three waves of mirrors appear on each side, which shoots lasers. The laser stuns the player on hit.
- Echidna shoots 3 times a laser to a side, with shorts intervals between each shot.
- The boss raises her right hand and requests a 3-man coop counter.
- After a while, Echidna blows a kiss, sends out flying hearts and initiates a clash opportunity.
- During the clash, she also blows air, which deals damage on hit.
Description
- To resolve this pattern, you need to deplete the hidden stagger bar of Echidna.
- In Normal Mode, the laser between the mirrors turns off for a few seconds, so that you can pass through.
- In Hard Mode, you have to spacebar through the laser of the 2nd Mirror.
- Dodge the lasers shot by Echidna to avoid getting a charm stack.
- Succeed the 3-man coop counter (2 in Normal Mode), which gives those players a stagger buff. Upon success, Echidna will collapse and give a short window of opportunity to deal damage & stagger.
- In Hard Mode, she might do a fake coop counter first.
- As soon as she blows a kiss, group up and move to 6 O'clock (back side of the battlefield). Avoid getting hit by the flying hearts, which pull you towards the boss on hit. Hearts appear only in Hard Mode.
- A player should take the clash, which appears a few steps towards the boss from 6 O'clock position. Getting perfect on clash fills up 2 Ally Skill Segments once it is over.
- Efficient Method: Ideally, you should use Ally Skill: Thar 2-3 seconds after the golden flash on the clash player appears. If you use the Ally Skill too early, it will interrupt the clash and prevent you from getting the 2 Ally Skill Segments. Using it too late might lead to consumption of the Segments after they got filled by the clash.
- Easier Method: If you are unsure about the timing, you can use Ally Skill: Thar after the 3-man coop counter. In that case, you have to avoid staggering the boss until you are done with the clash pattern.
Telegraph
- Occurs at x120, x100 and x80 HP.
- Echidna floats back, disappears and reappears close to the wall at 11 O'clock.
- A blue clash circle appears on her left side, followed by a white snake lunging towards that spot.
- After a brief delay, another blue clash circle appears right to the boss, followed by a black snake lunging towards that spot.
Description
- The goal of this pattern is to prevent the stage destruction and killing both snakes before or at the end of the last basement clash at x80 HP. Killing both snakes gives a permanent 30% Damage Increase buff.
- As preparation for this mechanic, you need to assign 3 players, who will take the clashes.
- Common Method
- The raid lead moves close to the first blue clash circle and uses Ally Skill: Thar. In that case, Thar performs the clash and will deal 61 bars of damage to the white snake at the end. The player's goal is to bring down the HP of the white snake to 61 bars, before switching target to the black snake. Use Atropine Potion.
- Meanwhile, the first predesignated clash player, should keep an eye on the 2nd blue clash circle and take the clash as soon as it appears.
- At x100, the 2nd clash occurs. Since Thar killed the white snake during the 1st clash, only the black snake will spawn and request a clash. The 2nd predesignated player should take the clash, while the rest deals as much damage as possible while making use of Atropine Potion.
- At x80 HP, the 3rd predesignated player takes the clash, and the rest should be able to kill the snake, which gives the permanent 30% Damage Increase buff.
- Uncommon Method (If you lack damage to kill snakes by using the common method)
- The main difference between this and the common approach is, that you will take the white snake's HP only down to x79 during the first set of clashes.
- On the 2nd set of clash, both clashes need to be taken by a player. While both clashes are ongoing, the raid lead needs to line up with both snakes and use Ally Skill: Azena. This should be enough to kill both snakes and obtain the permanent 30% Damage Increase buff.
- The usage of the 2nd Ally Skill will most likely force the raid to use the uncommon method during the Basement -> Big Snakes pattern.
Telegraph
- Echidna disappears and summons a big mirror in the center, surrounded by small mirrors at x3 and x3+1 positions.
- Normal Mode (A stagger bar appears below the big mirror and will keep repeating the steps below.)
- The big mirror turns slowly, either clockwise or counterclockwise, and performs an attack which imprisons players looking at it on hit.
- Shortly after, the small mirrors at it's back will use the same attack and imprison player's looking at those.
- Hard Mode
- A random small mirror glows red.
- The big mirror displays a moving portrait of echidna 5 times in quick succession.
- Pairs of small mirrors rotate at the same time.
- Stagger bar appears below the small mirrors.
Description
- Normal Mode
- Simply follow the back of the big mirror while looking at it, and keep attacking it until you deplete the stagger bar.
- Hard Mode
- The goal here is to stagger the correct small mirror. To locate the correct one, memorize which one glows red at the start of this mechanic.
- Memorize the direction sequence of Echidna's portrait moment displayed in the big mirror. Since this tells you in which direction you need to move from the red glowing mirror's pov to identify the correct small mirror.
- Portrait moved towards right ⇾ Clockwise (CW)
- Portrait moved towards left ⇾ Counterclockwise (CCW)
- You can also use the "+1-1 method", since there are only 4 possible outcomes. By counting the sum of each variant (left or right) and identifying the one, which is higher. That tells you how many spots and in which direction it moved from its initial position (red glowing mirror).
- 3 right ⇾ 1 CW
- 3 left ⇾ 1 CCW
- 4 right ⇾ 3 CW
- 4 left ⇾ 3 CCW
- Once you have followed the sequence correctly, you also need to pay attention to mirrors, which rotate as pairs. If the correct mirror is part of a rotating pair, then those 2 swap positions.
- Stagger the correct small mirror.
Example Footage Sequence:
Start (Red Glow) at 3 O'clock | CW → CW → CCW → CW → CW | 7 & 11 O'clock swapped | Stagger 11 O'clock
Hard Mode only
Telegraph
- After a cutscene, Echidna moves to the center, heals to x66 HP and becomes stationary.
- Fog covers the edge of the battlefield.
- Boss performs 2 patterns followed by a grab attempt towards 6 O'clock.
- If at least one player got caught, everyone can see 3 of the 6 snake tail pattern on the ground glow in a specific sequence.
- Echidna turns, releases and charms the grabbed players, while knocking back everyone else.
- Shortly after, she will turn towards the first snake tail and request a real or fake counter. She repeats this 2 additional times.
- Echidna repeats the pattern sequence starting from the 3rd step once more.
Description
- Dodge the 2 initial patterns.
- At least 1 player needs to get grabbed so that everyone can see the tail glow sequence.
- None grabbed players, should try to super armor through the explosion and use a Sleep Bomb on the charmed (previously grabbed) player.
- Go to the called out positions and prepare to counter in sequence. But be aware of the fake counters! There are only 2 possible counter sequences.
- Real → Fake → Real
- Fake → Real → Real
- After successfully completing the counter sequence, the team gets a Damage Buff. The raid leader should use Ally Skill: Azena on Echidna.
- Repeat the actions starting from the Step 2. But this time other players need to get grabbed. Getting grabbed more than once leads to death.
Example Footage Sequence: 11 ⇾ 5 ⇾ 9 | Real → Fake → Real
The Fake counter was accidentally countered, which knocked back everyone in the footage below.
Counter Patterns
Telegraph
- The boss dashes 1 or 3 times in quick succession and knocks up players on her path.
- Afterward, she turns and requests a counter.
Description
- Follow her while dodging her dashes and prepare to counter as soon as she stops.
Telegraph
- Only occurs in the basement.
- Echidna slowly moves her arms from the side towards the air.
- Shockwaves appear from Echidna.
- Cone shaped pink telegraph appears on each of Echidna's cardinal directions, and deal damage after a short delay. At the same time, a yellow telegraphed explosion occurs close and further away from her.
- She attempts to repeat the cone-shaped cardinal explosions once more while requesting a 2-man coop counter.
Description
- Once this pattern starts, move a few steps away from echidna, towards any of her ordinal/diagonal directions not covered by her cone attacks.
- After the yellow telegraphed explosion, move to her front and succeed the 2-man coop counter.
- This pattern is not counterable during x0 Final Struggle mechanic.
Notable Patterns
Telegraph
- This pattern occurs around 7:30 minutes. Re-occurs again periodically after the first occurrence.
- Boss sits on a swing and gets lifted above the ground.
- A NPC dialogue window appears, and all corrupted tiles glow red until this pattern gets resolved.
- The players' vision is limited by a pink fog.
- Flowers start to bloom on random tiles closer to the boss, which give charm stacks to nearby players.
- Blue telegraphs appear below player's feet. After a short delay, a flytrap spawns on that spot and grabs players standing on it and deals 240% of their Max HP as damage.
Description
- The most common method to survive this pattern is to group up and run to the opposite side of the boss.
- A pre designated player, ideally a support or a tanky class, purposely gets grabbed by the fly trap. Before this happens, supports in that player's party should use awakening, shields and damage reduction, to reduce the risk of dying.
- Other players move out of the tile as soon as they see the blue telegraph and get back on it as soon as the pre designated player gets grabbed.
- Afterward, stay on that tile until this pattern is over.
Telegraph
- This pattern occurs once per encounter, mostly around the 5 minutes mark.
- Echidna teleports to a nearby edge tile, sits on a swing and gets lifted above the ground.
- A big red telegraph expands from her position, followed up by an explosion.
- The players' vision is limited by a pink cloud, and all corrupted tiles glow red until this pattern gets resolved.
- Pink butterflies fly around the map.
- A chain connects each player with Echidna, which periodically applies a stacking debuff.
Description
- As soon as you see Echidna teleporting to an edge tile and sitting on the swing, move close to her and wait for the explosion to occur.
- As soon as you get connected to Echidna by a chain, you have to start running to be at least 6 tiles away from her to break the chain.
- If you are too slow, you will get charmed and switch to PvP mode.
- While creating distance, avoid getting hit by the butterflies, otherwise you will fall asleep for 10 seconds.
Telegraph
- An eye appears above Echidna, follow by multiple pink colored shock waves.
- Players looking at her get stunned.
Description
- As soon as you see the eye, look away from her.
- If someone got stunned, she follows up with:
- Knock up and away attack, if players are stunned close to her.
- Grab attack, if players are stunned further away from her. In this case, you need to stagger her.
Telegraph
- Echidna stands still, and a heart appears above her head.
- A short moment later, she shoots heart shaped projectiles around her, which stun players on hit.
- The boss teleports to a stunned player and grabs everyone nearby.
- A stagger bar appears below her. Upon successful stagger, the grabbed players get released.
- A fast filling dial appears below the released players. Once it is full, it corrupts the tile below the affected players.
Description
- As soon as you see the heart above her head, move away from her and dodge the flying hearts.
- If players got grabbed, deplete her stagger bar as fast as possible to liberate them.
- Players with the dial below, ideally corrupt a tile between the 2 blue glowing tiles as described in Main Mechanics → Tile Flip.
Telegraph
- A big mirror appears in front of Echidna.
- A small mirror appears close to each player and attempts to grab everyone in the yellow telegraphed area.
- Grabbed players get teleported to Echidna and thrown towards her right side.

- Boss floats towards the air and summons slowly falling petals, which bloom into a flower as soon as they hit the ground.
- Echidna reappears and sends out 3 waves of expanding ring shaped lines.
- After the 3rd wave, she jumps towards a different location and sends 3 additional waves.
- Shortly after casting the last (6th) wave, she will float towards the air again to cause an explosion around her.
- Echidna summons delayed explosions below each player, indicated by the red telegraph.
Description
- Move away from the boss to avoid getting hit by the blooming flowers, which apply charm stacks.
- Use spacebar to dodge through the ring shaped lines. Otherwise, these lines apply a charm stack on hit.
- Each player gets a debuff with 6 stacks. A stack gets consumed with each usage of the spacebar dodge. This also resets your spacebar cooldown.
- After the 6th wave, stay close to Echidna to dodge the big explosions, and then move away to avoid getting hit by the small explosions.
Hard Mode only
Telegraph
- Echidna rotates quickly and summons a pink sphere around her.
Description
- Stop dealing damage, otherwise she will retaliate by dealing high damage to nearby players.
Telegraph
- The boss summons 8 mirrors.
- Each player gets targeted by one of the mirrors, which sends out a slow moving laser towards that player.
- At the same time, the boss shoots big red telegraphed lasers towards the outside, which stun players on hit.
Description
- As soon as you see the 8 mirrors, run to the furthest edge away from the boss while dodging the red telegraphs.
- Once the boss stops shooting the big lasers, run towards the opposite side, while avoiding getting hit by the slow moving laser.
Telegraph
- Echidna summons 4 mirrors around her.

- The mirrors lock in and shoot a high damage laser.
Description
- As a targeted player, turn the mirror away from your teammates, and dodge out as soon as it locks in.
Telegraph
- A stagger bar appears below the boss, and 3 players are marked with a golden crosshair.
- Small blossoms spawn below the marked players and at random locations on the battlefield.

- Her 3rd attack deals damage to players further away from her.
- If you are in the basement, delayed explosions will occur below each player after her 3rd attack.
- The boss floats towards the air while knocking back everyone close to her.
- Echidna returns to the ground and deals damage to players further away from her, which also applies a charm stack on hit.

- At the same time, flowers spawn on random spots and explode after a short delay.
Description
- Either move away from the boss or move fast towards her side or back, while dodging the flower explosions.
- On hit, you will get a charm stack.
Echidna has a lot of dangerous patterns, which occur after she back steps. Almost all the follow-up attacks can be avoided by moving fast to her side or back.
Telegraph
- The boss slowly turns towards a random player and perform a frontal ribbon attack, which stuns on hit.
- If someone got hit by the initial frontal attack(s), she will spin and deal damage to nearby players. This also applies a charm stack on hit.
- If no one got hit, she jumps towards a different position and performs another frontal ribbon attack.
- In the basement, she repeats the frontal ribbon attack 2 additional times, imprisons players on hit and follows up with the close range explosion, which applies charm stack on hit.
Description
- Avoid getting hit by the initial attack. If a player got hit, move away from her.
- In the basement, focus on dodging. Afterwards, you can free the imprisoned players.
Telegraph
- Small red line shaped telegraphs appear from the front side of the boss.
