Choosing the right healer build in Throne and Liberty makes all the difference. This article provides a healer over of the most effective meta and off-meta healer builds, highlighting their strengths, gear recommendations, and tips for getting the most out of each build.
Meta Healer Builds are the most optimized and widely-used builds for keeping your team alive and dominating in in combat. These builds uniquely excel in various areas such as healing, Crowd Control, and providing Attribute Buffs and party-wide damage mitigation, making them the go-to choices for many players. Let’s dive into the healer overview of the top meta healer builds and explore what makes each one stand out.
Wand / Longbow - The Seeker
Difficulty Level - Moderate
Overview
- This is a meta healer build.
- Provides the best healing throughput by being able to spam heals.
- Can use Overtaker and Longbow offensive abilities while Silenced.
- Devoted Shield provides a 3,000 Health Shield that procs when weakened (no cooldown).
- Capable of building the highest amounts of all Endurances with Distorted Sanctuary.
- Nature's Blessing provides party-wide Mana sustain and Health Regen.
- When combined with Healing Touch, you have one of the strongest healing combos in the game.
- Blitz resets previously used abilities allowing you to use healing skills back-to-back.
- High Critical Hit with Sniper's Sense for Critical Healing.
- Can cleanse Stuns with Purifying Touch.
- The skill Deadly Marker lets you greatly reduce the cooldowns of all party members' abilities, including its own, as long as the debuff is active on your target. This ability can stack with other Deadly Markers, making you not only a powerful healer but also someone who can significantly boost your party’s overall damage output.
Suggested Gearing Paths
- Synergize your gear with the Distorted Sanctuary Passive by building either high Melee and Ranged Endurance or Melee Evasion and Ranged Endurance.
- All players can reach the proper Melee Evasion breakpoints in Mid Game (1,400 - 1,500) and T1 gear (1,700).
- You can't reach the proper Ranged Evasion breakpoint (1,600) solely relying on gear so instead you build Ranged Endurance as your secondary defense Trait.
- Melee Evasion benefits you the most in Small Scale and Arena PvP content, while Endurance has noticeable strengths in Large Scale combat with full Endurance traits.
Wand / Staff - The Invocator
Difficulty Level - Easy
Overview
- This is a meta healer build.
- Can be played as either a hybrid healer or pure healer.
- Excels in large-scale PvP with Icebound Tomb's and Ice Spear's wide-area Crowd Control and instant cast AoE burst damage with Judgment Lightning, Serial Fire Bombs, Inferno Wave, and Chain Thunder.
- Amazing Mana sustain from Inner Peace, which keeps you active in longer fights.
- Max Health and Mana boost with Mana Amp Passive.
- The Skill Damage Boost passive Forbidden Sanctuary enhances both your healing and damage abilities.
- Reduces Silence duration with Echoic Barrier.
- Can reach the highest amounts of Melee Evasion with Victorious Energy, giving you great survivability in Small Scale and Arena combat.
- Infernal Meteor is an AoE skill which weakens all targets hit reducing their healing done.
- Salvation Chain saves allies from danger or grants you additional mobility if you take the Jumping Chain specialization.
Suggested Gearing Paths
- Synergize your gear with your Victorious Energy ability to exceed Evasion breakpoints in T1 gear.
- On servers where Ranged are focusing on building higher Hit than Attack Speed and Bonus Damage, run Ranged Endurance instead of Ranged Evasion. Your gear is similar to the Wand / Longbow Melee Evasion and Ranged Endurance gear builds.
- You want a base hit of 680-800 before buffs. If your server doesn't have many players running Magic Evasion, you don't have to worry too much about having a low amount of Hit.
Wand / SnS - The Templar
Difficulty Level - Easy
Overview
- This is a meta healer build.
- Known as the tankiest healer build, with the ability to provide strong buffs to their party with Great Fury, Stalwart Bastion, and Blessing of Immortality.
- Can freely mass Sleep and cast Crowd Control abilities with Controlling Rake, Strategic Rush, Provoking Roar, and Cleaving Roar with ease due to the class’s exceptional durability.
- These abilities are great for AoE and single-target peeling.
- Strategic Rush provides both mobility and Crowd Control.
- Morale Boost passive provides excellent Cooldown Reduction.
- Builds the highest Resistance values with Gerad's Patience, which is great for Collision Resistance builds.
- The only healer with Shield Block Chance, which adds to their ability to feel unkillable.
Suggested Gearing Paths
- You have high Defense Stats thanks to Impenetrable, Aegis Shield, and Immortal Pride, which synergize well with Endurance stats. High Max Health and Defenses are required for an effective Endurance build and luckily you achieve that with Sword and Shield.
- Run a high Max Health, Defense, Endurance, and Resistance build. In addition, Collision Resistance is often built in these types of builds.
- Alternatively, you can also run a Melee Evasion and Ranged Endurance build.
Wand / Daggers - The Darkblighter
Difficulty Level - Hard
Overview
- This is a meta healer build.
- With Shadow Escape, Assassin's Step, and high Movement Speed, this build has the best mobility of all healers.
- Assassin's Instincts allows you to achieve high Critical Healing Chance.
- You have access to two Stealths, through Camouflage Cloak and Block Blade.
- While Stealthed you gain increased Mana Regen and can easily reposition yourself to safety or try to setup a high value AoE Sleep for your team.
- You can reset Stealth easily with Assassination Stance mixed with Phantom Smokescreen.
- Use Knife Throwing to apply a 60% Healing Reduction debuff that makes it near impossible for the majority of builds affected to sustain incoming damage by relying only on Heals.
- With Shadow Walker, you can build the best Ranged and Magic Evasion builds.
- The strongest T1 Curse Explosion bomber (DPS-oriented playstyle).
Suggested Gearing Paths
- Synergizing with Shadow Walker, you can build an excellent Ranged and Magic Evasion build.
- Alternatively, you can build a great Melee Evasion and Ranged or Magic Evasion build.
Off-meta healer builds in Throne and Liberty bring unique playstyles that are gaining attention across all regions, especially the Wand / Greatsword Paladin build. With strong AoE control and mobility, it’s rising in popularity but isn't fully meta yet. More testing is needed to confirm its effectiveness in all forms of combat, though it's quickly proving to be a strong option in PvP. Wand / Crossbow is strong in 1v1, arena, and small scale PvP, but it's not great in large scale combat since the build lacks skills that provide benefits to your party or raid. In PvE, Wand/Crossbow deals some of the highest damage while farming or killing Elites and Solo Bosses. This is largely due to the Crossbow's burst skills. Below is a healer overview of the off-meta healer builds.
Wand / Greatsword - The Paladin
Difficulty Level - Hard
Overview
- This is an off-meta healer build.
- This build provides strong AoE Stuns and Slows with skills like Devastating Smash and Ice Tornado, perfect for large-scale PvP.
- This build has high mobility and CC because of abilities like Devastating Smash, Precision Dash, and Charging Slash, as well as high mobility with Barbarian's Dash.
- Robust Constitution increases your Max Health, improving your survivability and Hit.
- Vital Force further increases your Hit, while also improving your Skill Damage Boost and Stun Chance. Skill Damage Boost increases your healing output.
- Indomitable Armor increases your Defenses, which improves your overall damage sustain.
- Devoted Sanctuary is the highlight of the build, which allows you to take majority of the damage your party receives during a set duration. This is ability allows your party to feel just as tanky as an SnS user and the duration is increased with Buff Duration.
Suggested Gearing Paths
- A Melee Evasion and Ranged Endurance build is highly effective because of abilities and passives like DaVinci's Courage, Robust Constitution, and Indomitable Armor that increase your base Defenses and overall ability to sustain high amounts of damage.
- Alternatively, a Melee Endurance and Ranged Endurance build works great as they similarly synergize with the same passives.
Wand / Crossbow - The Fury
Difficulty Level - Hard
Overview
- This is an off-meta healer build.
- This build is primarily niche for 1v1, Arena, or small-scale PvP engagements because it does not provide advantages to your party or raid that improve their survivability or ability to secure kills. Instead, this build focuses more on survivability and damage sustain for yourself.
- This build has a high skill ceiling, but if mastered, is extremely hard to kill in small scale and arena PvP content similar to a Wand/SnS player, but with less party-wide utility and fewer buffs.
- Skills like Selfless Diffusion, Nimble Leap, and Detection combine to make you extremely hard to kill.
- Overall, this build excels at personal survivability but lacks broader support and AoE CC for large-scale engagements.
Suggested Gearing Paths
- Normally you build Melee Evasion and Ranged Evasion.
- Alternatively, you can also use a Melee Evasion and Ranged Endurance build if Ranged players on your server are building high Hit gear builds.
