Unlike with Fishing and Cooking, your Gathering doesn't level up. Thus, the only incentives are completing certain quests and contracts for cooking ingredients. This Gathering guide lists what materials each type of Gathering Node drops.

Farming Spots

The Raging Wilds is a popular spot for target farming Moonstone.
There are Ores along the bottom of the cliffs of Daybreak Shore.
Gigantrite has 6 Marind Ore Nodes that respawn every 5 minutes.
- They are not "global" nodes because if another player mines the node, it doesn't disappear for you.
- There is a chance of you mining Precious Marind Ore here.
Sandworm Lair is a great place to farm Medicinal Mushrooms.
The Raging Wilds, Purelight Hill, and Manawastes are good areas with many Star Trees.
Wild Herbs can be found all around the map; however, the mountaintops of Sandworm Lair are very popular spots for target farming Wild Herbs.
Purelight Hill has a good variety of Mushrooms, Trees, and Herbs.
- The Goblin Herbalist drops Wild Herbs along his path during the Escort the Herbalist Contract.
- Many people do their contracts in Purelight Hill, so there is a lot of competition.
Shattered Temple has Trees and Ores.
- Many people do their contracts in Shattered Temple, so there is a lot of competition.
Both Fan Trees and Wild Grape Trees spawn in high-altitude areas. The best places to look are the northern part of Forest of the Great Tree between Shaderock Mountains and Shaderock Station
Bercant Manor is the only place to find Water Lily Buds. They appear in the water surrounding Thorn Garden.
Silk Clams are found in the various Rivers of the Talandre region.
