Combating Botting and RMT
Amazon is actively improving their bot detection and doing bot ban waves. As you can see in game that bots have been removed consistently but continue to reappear again and again. Although they won't release any specifics, Amazon assures the community they are doing their best to combat botting.
Among the various updates to the Bot detection algorithms they are using, Amazon is also working on how they monitor the Auction House to detect suspicious transactions relating to Bots and RMT. As of the October Update, Amazon has already issued penalties for both Botting and RMT including negative Lucent balances, Auction House lockouts and account bans. Rest assured that Amazon is trying their hardest to make Throne and Liberty a fair, bot-free experience.
AGS Game Philosophy
Following the October Update, Amazon made its stance clear on the future of PVP and PVE for Throne and Liberty. This includes the intended experience for Peace Bosses, streamlining Co-Op Dungeons, and how the Contribution system works in regards to Field Bosses.
Random Dungeons
First up, Amazon has already taken steps to make the PVE experience more friendly for players. They have improved matchmaking to ensure that you are placed with other players who are near your Gear Score. To improve the speed of Dungeon Queues, Amazon implemented a new system to encourage players to queue under Party Matchmaking called "Random". This Queues you for all available Co-Op Dungeons and, upon completion, rewards you with a Randomized matchmaking Rewards: 1-Star.
- Opening this box gives you a guaranteed Dimensional Soul Shard Selection Chest: 1-Star.
- It has a chance to give a full Dimensional Essence: Salvation.
These extra rewards definitely incentivize players to make use of the new Random Queue. In addition, Amazon has increased the Max HP and Damage buff inside Matchmade Co-Op Dungeons from 5% to 10%. Both changes should make for a much more streamlined experience in Co-Op Dungeons.
Boss Drops and Portals
In regards to Field Bosses, Amazon is making changes to ensure that players have the intended experience when it comes to Peace Bosses. These changes come in three parts.
- Peace Field Bosses now spawn extra Portals based on the player count in your server.
- When opening Field Boss participation rewards, you now have a chance to receive a selection chest containing all Epic gear from the corresponding Field Boss. These items are not be tradable, but can be turned into Lithographs.
- If a Peace Boss is scheduled to take place during night, a separate Portal spawns outside of Conflict Dungeons such as Syleus' Abyss or Shadowed Crypt to ensure players can get to the boss without having to move through Conflict Zones. This change is slated for mid-November
In their October Update, Amazon made it clear they understand the complaints that some players have in regards to the new loot drop times. When loot drops from a Conflict Field Boss, that dropped item stays bound to the player who got the drop for 10 minutes. This is much longer than the previous time of 30 seconds, and many players have expressed concern regarding this. In response, Amazon wanted to make a few clarification in regards to the Contribution system and their plans for the future.
- Field Boss drops are assigned to players based on a Contribution system.
- Each individual players contribution contributes to a Guilds overall contribution towards a Field Boss, and the most effective way to ensure an enemy Guild doesn't keep their Contribution is to kill them.
- Each time you die during a Field Boss, 70% of your Contribution is lost.
In the future, Amazon plans to release various UI elements to help clarify contribution making it easier for guilds to ensure they come out on top.
New Systems and Plans for the Future
In the October Update, Amazon spoke about systems coming to Throne and Liberty Global both old and new! They first touched on something they previously mentioned regarding Runes, Trait Resonance, and the Substance Transformation System. First, Amazon assures us that none of these systems are coming to the Global version of the game in their current state. Upcoming Systems
They aim to remove the heavy pay-to-win aspects from these systems and improve them to better match the Global playerbase. The confirmed changes are as follows:
- Rune Sockets are no longer RNG. You can choose which type of socket you wish to unlock.
- Amazon is introducing a Rune Bag so that any Runes you acquire don't clutter your inventory. They also plan to implement the ability to search for specific Runes to cut down on the time spent managing your inventory.
- You will no longer be able to feed tradable items into the Substance Transformation window. This is to prevent people endlessly buying items from the Auction House and gambling them to acquire various rare pieces of gear. Amazon has mentioned the will look at decreasing the cost of Substance Transformation to help combat the now limited pool of items that can be used in it.
New PVP
Next, Amazon teased upcoming new PVP content for Throne and Liberty in the form of more structured PVP such as Battlegrounds. These new modes are slated for a mid-November release and include various numbers of teams and team sizes. These new modes can either be public matches or private matches between your friends.
