Raider PVP Build Guide
Last Updated:June 27, 2025|Changelog
Welcome to the Raider PvP Build Guide! Raider in Throne and Liberty excels in AOE Bombing. Chain Hook combined with Bulwark of Invulnerability makes it easy to clump up groups of players before dropping your AOE.
Annihilation Barrage Shot in combination with Spectrum of Agony allows for large AOE potential. Sword and Shield's Mastery "Roar Amplifier" adds an additional hit for every hit dealt within melee range.

Gear Progression
In all of these builds, Cordy's Stormspore Spike Slingers is the best Crossbow to use without a doubt. The ability to pull players in on each Gale Explosion makes AOE Bombing even stronger. While players are in the "Collision" animation, they cannot block.
- There is no "Best Build", Talandre Gear allows for a wide variety of builds leading to different metas depending on your Server.
- Use the builds as a base, and swap different pieces around to fit the stats needed to combat your Server's meta.
- With the introduction of earrings, use the easier to obtain Brilliant Regal Earrings for Endurance builds or Earrings of Forlorn Elegance for Evasion builds.
- Depending on which works best for your Attribute stat distribution, eventually use either Earrings of Glimmering Dew or Gilded Granite Teardrops for Endurance builds, or Earrings of Primal Foresight or Bloodright Earrings for Evasion builds.
Set Effect Options
- 2 Pieces of Abyssal Beast for Hit Chance helps to reach the high Hit which is important for Raider.
- Some servers end up having over 60-70% of the PvP playerbase as Sword and Shield users. Because of this, 4 - 6 piece Deathless One Set results in a great option to reach 85%+ Shield Block Penetration.
- Enchanting Pyromancer: Solar Stone is a solid choice for a quick burst of additional Hit for times you want to ensure the kill on a priority target.
Consider the defensive and offensive breakpoints other classes can reach when building your gear.
- Melee
- Fully built Sword and Shield users reach 1500+ base Endurance.
- The amount varies depending on Trait Resonances and Runes.
- With the Palace Guard's Plate Armor item set, they will take even less damage. If you are targeting Sword and Shields, use the Shield Block Penetration Chance Rune Synergy.
- Greatswords can reach 2500+ base Melee Hit Chance fully geared without sacrificing damage.
- Spears can reach 2000+ base Melee Hit Chance before buffs.
- Fully built Sword and Shield users reach 1500+ base Endurance.
- Ranged
- Ranged Classes can reach 2000+ base Ranged and Magic Evasion or 1700+ Endurance pre-buffed without sacrificing damage. The specific numbers depend on the Runes the player slots and the Trait Resonance they use.
- Support
- If Bow / Wands follow the builds on this site, they can reach 2000+ Ranged and Magic Endurance with 500+ Heavy Attack Evasion. As mentioned above, these numbers differ depending on the Runes and Trait Resonance.
Considering the above, it's hard to find a one-size-fits-all solution. How you gear will entirely depend on the meta of your server.
- Is your server full of high Evasion users? Do you usually target those players? If so, build more Hit Chance.
- You might also need to spec Eagle Vision for the additional Hit.
Full Bonus Damage Build
- Allowing for 230+ Bonus Damage, this ensures high damage output per hit even though the attack uses just 37% Weapon Damage.
- While HP is on the lower end at around 21,700 HP, Raiders using this build reach 3000+ Ranged / Magic Evasion when using any mobility skill.
Endurance / Bonus Damage Build
- This build sacrifices some Bonus Damage but then adds some additional Endurance.
- Still maintaining 200+ Bonus Damage, this build grants 1500 - 1800+ Melee / Ranged / Magic Endurances.
Glove Alternatives
- Dread Admiral's Gloves
- Perfect for increased Bonus Damage and Attack Speed
- Paramount Gauntlets of the Resistance
- Great for increased Collision Chance

Endurance / Bonus Damage Build
No Field Boss Build
- This build allows for PvP in T2 without requiring Field Boss Drops.
- There may be more of a grind for these items because of that.
Fresh Level 55 Build
- This build is NOT recommended for PvP.
- Use this build as you finish the Talandre MSQ, and then start to work towards unlocking the recommended T2 Gear for PvP Content.
- This can take anywhere from 1 - 4 weeks depending on lucent income + Guild / Dungeon drops.
Skill Builds, Rotations, and Mastery
Raider has quite a few options to choose from when it comes to skills based on various situations that occur. The most important thing about Raider is understanding what’s going on in the fight and knowing when to jump in with your Buffs. Here is a Skill Build with common skills, Skill Specializations, and a Level 130 Mastery Tree to use as a base to start off with, if you want to customize your own Skill Builds.
- Mana Exchange is a valid option when multiple users are constantly looking to CC you as it allows for 2 trinkets instead of just 1.
- Righteous Fury is a good option for added Skill Damage Boost when going into spin.
- Detection and Skillful Evasion are both great options to choose when building towards Evasion.
- Impenetrable and Aegis Shield are great defensive options when wanting more survivability that doesn't rely on Evasion.

Tips
- Normally, make sure to get a Devoted Sanctuary popped by somebody in your party before jumping in.
- It's also a good idea to first get buffed by a Wand user in your party as well beforehand to maximize your damage output.
- Staying within melee range of your targets during the fights, give Raiders additional hits from the Sword and Shield passive, Spectrum of Agony.
- For the most part, keep the Sword and Shield out when being attacked for chances at Shield Block to minimize the damage taken.
- Call for a Devastating Smash from your tank first afterwards, jump in to spin, this way it minimizes the chances of enemies blocking your spins.

- This means with high enough attack speed, they cannot block your next attack when getting pulled by Chain Hook.
Weapon Mastery Prioritization
Use this as a framework for the first 130 levels of Weapon Mastery when playing Raider. Ultimately, it's a preference thing, as some players opt for more Defensive Masteries when they're reaching higher levels, while others prefer more Offensive Masteries.

Guardians
Guardians are special transformations that add offensive or defensive buffs or attacks to your character for 30 seconds. You'll have a few options for Guardians when it comes to PvP.
- True Defender Pluton - This guardian is perfect when spinning with Raider! The pull can interrupt casts + blocking all the while pulling users during your spin!
- ALL guardians can be used mid spin, so using this after starting the spin ensures more users are in range of the multiple Gale Explosions!
- Lady Knight Kamarshea - This guardian lowers your cooldown while also giving you a damage shield equal to 50% of your maximum mana. This is the go-to defensive guardian whenever the plan is to dive the ball to try and survive longer along with higher uptime on my skills.
- Pale Nemesis Hartach - This guardian allows you to reset your stealth if you get a kill within 3 seconds of engaging an opponent. It's useful when AOE Bombing because it almost always procs the invisibility at the end of the spin. This is also similar to the weapon effect of Tevent's Massacre Blade so until you get those daggers this is a good way to go in and out of stealth during fights. Sadly, however, it's only a 30 second duration so be careful when you pop it.
