Welcome to the Longbow / Dagger PvP Build Guide. Longbow provides an incredible disruption tool for Large-Scale PvP in the form of Tornado, sending groups of players into the air.

You don't have as much spammable AoE as Staff / Dagger users, but you have an amazing AoE skill shot with a wide range, Flash Wave. Blitz also resets any skill you desire.

Dagger's skills complement most weapons well, providing flat offensive stat boosts like Wrathful Edge. Camouflage Cloak provides an incredible escape tool and can be used offensively for the guaranteed Crit. Shadow Walker boosts your Evasion to decent levels too; as long as you constantly upkeep the buff.

Longbow / Dagger is an amazing asset in Large Scale PvP, and you won't regret playing it!

Skill Builds and Rotation

Large Scale PvP
Small Scale PvP / Arena PvP
  • Weapon Masteries can be used when that specific weapon is out or when skills of that weapon are being used. When you aren't attacking and trying to reposition, having the Dagger out will increase Movement Speed, among other defensive stats.
  • In instances where you're repositioning, if you get jumped or CC'd, you'll be able to make use of the added Evasion from Master of Evasion and Debuff Duration if you put points in the top tree.
    • Feel free to take the middle tree instead if you don't want the added defensiveness during these times.
  • Always use mobility skills like Block Blade roll to proc Shadow Walker for extra Ranged and Magic Evasion.
  • Positioning is key!
    • Take advantage of chokes or off-angles where enemies aren't staring right at you.
    • Charging skills will break you out of stealth. In Large Scale PvP, stick near the backline without playing too close to other users to avoid getting hit by AoE.
  • Tornado is a great counter-engage spell alongside this AoE bombing combo.
  • Using Decisive Bombardment at the right moments is key.
    • Use this also whenever somebody is locked down by a CC from either you or your teammates for increased damage thanks to the Skill Specialization Damage Increase.

AoE Engage

Weave in Flash Wave whenever there's a chance to do so. It is a great choice to use in chokes. Should the opportunity arise, you can flank and use from stealth in the enemy backline, but it is very risky if you're alone.

Single Target Lockdown

Defensive Utility

  • Use Camouflage Cloak defensively if you have to, to break Binds and get to safety.
  • If a Sword and Shield user pulls you in, use Phantom Smokescreen to prevent Ranged attacks from hitting for increased survivability and then stealth away with Camouflage Cloak.

Self-Sustain

This is an excellent way to self-sustain in fights when healers aren't around or have big cooldowns.
The Specialization, Vitality, from Nature's Blessing increases the amount of HP regained by a significant amount.

  • As stated in the Large Scale PvP section, have your daggers out for Master of Evasion.
    • Combined with Shadow Walker proccing, you will gain high Evasion.
  • It's best to target players the rest of your party is targeting for more coordinated fights.
    • If Greatsword users are trying to chase you, feel free to target them down from a distance before they can close the gap.

Single Target Ranged Lockdown

  1. Ensnaring Arrow
    • Additionally, Shadow Strike can be used as a Bind instead.
    • The Skill Specialization, Shadow Escape, allows you to use it a 2nd time to go back to the original location and continue attacking as if it was a ranged Bind.

Melee Finisher Combo

Don't do this unless the target is 30% - 20% or lower HP. While Brutal Incision can boast high damage, it's sometimes inconsistent with the damage output due to Offhand Chance. Offhand Chance is a stat on Dual-Wielded weapons such as Daggers and Crossbows; they give all skills related to these weapons a chance to attack additional times with their "Offhand."

Self-Sustain

This is an excellent way to self-sustain in fights when healers aren't around or have big cooldowns.
The Specialization, Vitality, from Nature's Blessing increases the amount of HP regained by a significant amount.

Skill Prioritization

  • This is a general list of skills used across all forms of content that are recommended to upgrade.
    • Should there be a skill here that you don't ever plan to use in your build, skip it.
  • Use Quality Skill Growth Books to upgrade your skills from Green to Blue in the order shown below. Once all skills below are Green, use the rest on other skills used in the builds above.
  • Use Rare Skill Growth Books to upgrade your skills from Blue to Purple in the order shown below. Once all skills below are Blue, use the rest on other skills used in the builds above.
  • Prioritize getting all these skills to blue first before getting them to purple.

PvP Gear Progression

Acquiring Gear pieces and upgrading them is incredibly expensive and time-consuming. If you enjoy both PvE and PvP content, just use these sets for PvE as well.

  • The next time these builds will be revamped entirely will be when T2 Epic gear comes out.
    • No more changes will be made to this gear until T2 gear comes in January or earlier.
    • This doesn't mean I won't add gear.
  • With Material Transmutation out, every piece of accessory is accessible. Thus, the "No Field Boss" gear versions will be archived in the archived tab.

Longbow / Dagger PvP Build

Trying to PvP with blues at this stage of the game is asking to get farmed. Try to move transition as fast as possible to your Mid Game build. The armor pieces here are cheap to trait.

Your Goals

  • You should do contracts immediately to acquire Contract Coins so you can buy Quality Lithograph: Weapons, Quality Lithograph: Armor, and Quality Lithograph: Accessories to craft Green Gear to complete Lithograph Book entries for Blue Gear.
    • Longbow of the Resistance from Long Ranged Nuisance
    • Elite Resistance Knife from Sharp Blades that Cut Through Darkness
    • Elite Sharpshooter's Cloak from Cloaks that Wield Victory
    • Lethal Fortune Ring from Rustic Mother Nature Rings

Traits

  • Trait this gear as best as you can. You don't need to go hard until you start acquiring Purple Gear.
  • If transitioning to Purple Gear immediately, fill up a blue item with cheap traits before transferring.

Longbow / Dagger PvP Build

Trying to PvP with blues at this stage of the game is asking to get farmed. This build will let you stand somewhat of a chance against other players until you reach End Game gear.

Fully trait your blue gear before transferring over to purple gear. A fully traited blue piece will give you 960 Blessings for you to use. You can use a trash blue gear piece and fill it up with cheap traits before transferring it to a purple piece in the same slot.

Transition Blues

  • You don't see many blue accessories here in this build. That's because most of them are not worth using. Before transferring to a Purple piece, you can fully upgrade and trait out any trash blue accessory.
  • If you want to skip directly to purple armor pieces and weapons, fully upgrade and trait out the cheapest blue you can find.

Your Goals

  • Craft Recipe: Common Trait Unlockstone Bundle to unlock Traits for your gear.
  • Farm accessible gear by doing Open World Dungeons.
  • Trait those accessible gear.
  • Extract traits from gear to sell in the Auction House for Lucent.
  • Turn valuable gear into Lithographs and sell them in the Auction House.
  • Buy gear and traits with the Lucent you earned.

Stats

  • You can get up to 1600+ Ranged Evasion and 1600+ Magic Evasion with Shadow Walker and Master of Evasion.

Traits

  • If transitioning to Purple Gear immediately, fill up a blue item with cheap traits before transferring.

Co-Op Dungeon Farming Priority

This section was optimized so you do not rely on Co-Op Dungeons as much to get your gear.

  • Karnix's Hell Bow
    • Death's Abyss
    • You can also pity craft Recipe: Karnix's Netherbow using 2 Dimensional Essence: Salvation instead of relying on RNG.
    • You must do each Co-Op Dungeon at least 5 times to acquire enough tokens to craft 2 Dimensional Essence: Salvation.
  • Sapphire Dimensional Band
    • Precious Epic Accessory Selection Chest
      • Requires Recipe: Dimensional Essence: Salvation to craft.
    • You must do each Co-Op Dungeon at least 3 times to acquire enough tokens to craft it.

Open World Dungeon Farming Priority

  1. Ant's Nest
    • Elusive Hexweaver Hat from Worker Ant
  2. Shadowed Crypt
    • Elite Sharpshooter's Cloak from Dark Assassin
    • Ancient Tapestry Mantle from Dark Enforcer

Budget Offensive and Defensive Builds

Without saying, your Budget build should be cheaper to trait but will lack Band of Universal Power.

Your offensive build uses a 4-Pc Harvester set for max Base Damage. Always watch your positioning and play smart.

  • Swirling Essence Robe is just for more damage.
  • You can swap the chest piece with Phantom Wolf Tunic for more base Evasion.
  • If you still like the 4-Piece setup, using Shadow Harvester Tunic and Heroic Hood of the Resistance should give your more Hit Chance and Ranged Evasion.

The full defensive build offers much higher Evasion, reaching 1800+ Ranged and Magic Evasion with Master of Evasion, and Shadow Walker.

  • With Rune Synergies allowing you easier breakpoints, Ancient Saurodoma Bracers can be used for more Ranged Evasion as well.
  • Just like in the offensive build, you can use Shadow Harvester Tunic in case you want even more Ranged Evasion.

Defensive and Support Runes

You will see that Max Health is taken for most Defensive Runes slotted in these builds. This is interchangeable depending on what you need and what your server meta is like.

  • Use Ranged Evasion Runes if your server is heavy on Longbow users.
  • Use Magic Evasion Runes if your server is heavy on Staff users.

When you get a Rare Chaos Rune: Ring with a good stat, replace the Support Rune in your Rings.

PvP Stats and Traits

  • Hit Chance, Critical Hit Chance, Heavy Attack Chance, Skill Damage Resistance, Skill Damage Boost, and Evasion are your most important traits.
  • For your accessories, choosing either Collision Chance or Buff Duration is down to preference.
    • Collision Chance is taken mainly for Tornado.
    • Buff Duration will extend the duration of buffs, the most important of which is Camouflage Cloak, Nature's Blessing, and Healing Touch.
  • Your accessories have the option of using either Collision Resistance or Debuff Duration. It depends on whether you get hit by Collision skills or more debuffs.
  • Sniper's Sense makes up for your low Critical Chance.
  • With Shadow Walker and Master of Evasion, you will reach 1700+ Ranged Evasion and 1700+ Magic Evasion.
    • These Evasion values are already pretty low because Staff users have access to Victorious Energy, reaching as high as 1400+ Magic Hit Chance at End Game.
    • Longbow Staff users will reach 1400+ Ranged Hit Chance as well with Victorious Energy.
  • 40% Buff Duration allows Camouflage Cloak to last longer.
  • Unbuffed, you reach ~1000 Hit Chance with full purple gear.
  • Your Critical Hit Chance is added by Sniper's Sense.

  • The Forgotten Assassin Set adds 220 extra Evasion to all 3 bases, but it is not currently calculated in the stats window above. Add 220 to the base stats above yourself. This will be fixed at a later time.

T2 Gearing Meta

Consider the defensive and offensive breakpoints other classes can reach when building your gear.

  • Melee
    • Fully built good Sword and Shield users reach ~1500 to ~2000 base Ranged and Magic Endurance.
      • The amount varies depending on Trait Resonances and Runes.
      • With the Palace Guard's Plate Armor item set, they will take even less damage.
    • Greatswords can reach ~2400 base Melee Hit Chance fully geared without sacrificing damage.
    • Spears can reach ~1700 base Melee Hit Chance before buffs.
  • Ranged
    • Bow / Daggers and Staff / Daggers can reach between 1700 to 2100 base Ranged and Magic Evasion pre-buffed without sacrificing damage. The specific numbers depend on the Runes the player slots and the Trait Resonance they use.
  • Support
    • If Bow / Wands follow the builds on this site, they can reach ~1700 base Ranged and Magic Endurance with ~900 Ranged Heavy Attack Evasion and ~400 Magic Heavy Attack Evasion at full build. Like above, these numbers differ depending on the Runes and Trait Resonance.

Gearing Logic

  • These builds have one purpose and one purpose only: to counter Melee users. With Epic Runes and the Forgotten Assassin Set, you can reach as high as 3000 Melee Evasion with Master of Evasion.
  • These builds give you a decent amount of Range and Magic Evasion as well, but only combined with Master of Evasion and Shadow Walker all active.
    • Against the average player base, it's good enough.
    • Against geared players, it isn't.

Rune Synergies

  • You can go whatever Rune Synergies you want that best fits what you are fighting.
  • Use the DEX Attack Speed Rune Synergies on your weapons if you want more damage.

Gear Alternatives

The great thing about Tier 2 gear is that you can swap many pieces depending on your wants.

  • Using Lord's Necklace or Pitch-black Destruction Necklace is down to preference.
  • Ring of Eternal Flames and Ancient's Blood Ring are good replacements for your Rings depending on your needs.
  • Forest Ruler's Bracelet is an Archboss only drop.

Gearing Logic

  • You need to be able to counter high Endurance users with high Critical Hit Chance. With this set, you reach up into the 1600s and 1700s.
    • Bercant's Seductive Blade will also help reduce Endurance.
    • Sniper's Sense also helps to greatly increase your Critical Hit Chance.
  • You counter the average Longbow / Dagger and Staff / Dagger Hit Chance, reaching as high as 2500+ Ranged Evasion and Magic Evasion with Master of Evasion, and Shadow Walker.
    • Remember that a difference of 1000 lets you evade 50% of all attacks.

Rune Synergies

  • You can go whatever Rune Synergies you want that best fits what you are fighting.
  • Use the DEX Attack Speed Rune Synergies on your weapons if you want more damage.

Gear Alternatives

  • Stone Cold Heart Cloak and Fell Tree Belt are two Archboss items you should use if you are ever lucky to acquire them. They both provide insane bonuses.
  • Forest Ruler's Bracelet is another Archboss item, but not mandatory to equip if you get it.

Endurance Builds

Guardians

Guardians are special transformations that add offensive or defensive buffs or attacks to your character for 30 seconds. These are the recommended Guardians for this class in both PvE and PvP situations.

  • Lady Knight Kamarshea provides a shield which is great to use for additional survivability.

Summary

  • This Longbow / Dagger PvP Build Guide provides the information to play effectively in Large Scale and Small Scale PvP Content.
  • If you're going Evasion, you always have to remind yourself to use a Mobility skill to proc Shadow Walker.
  • Endurance is easier to play and has less RNG than Evasion. With Distorted Sanctuary giving an additional 360 Endurance in a group of 6, Endurance is a viable option for Longbow.
  • When it comes to End Game builds, stat priority should be 60 Perception and 50 Strength.
