Hades 2 is currently in early access, as development continues expect new content and balance changes. Pin the guide to be notified of future updates.
Weapon Aspect
Invest into the Aspect of Momus to cause your Omega Moves to repeat up to 3 times after a short delay. You can use this by rotating between your Omega Attack, Omega Special, and Omega Cast as the situation requires or by focusing on one Omega Move to give yourself more time to dodge. This particular setup revolves around the Omega Special.
At rank 1 Aspect of Momus has a significant delay before repeating an Omega Move so it is strongly advised that you farm Nightmare to increase your Aspect rank and ensure a smooth experience. This build doesn't focus on the Omega Attack, so look for a utility Boon there.
Arcana, Keepsakes and Familiar
Before you set out each night, you need to choose your active Arcana, Keepsakes, and Familiar. Which Familiar you use is up to you, but Frinos is a great choice for beginners due to the extra health and ability to block enemy projectiles. You have the option to switch up Keepsakes between each region but the remaining choices are fixed for the entire run.
Arcana
The following Arcana are particularly impactful for this build.
- As most of your damage comes from dropping your Omega Cast and then using an Omega Special, The Sorceress and Death are high impact Arcana cards with low Grasp costs. The Unseen is also crucial so you have a way to restore your Magick and continually use your Omega Special.
- Remember to weave an Omega Attack or Cast between your Omega Specials to maximize your Crit bonus from Death.
- You also want The Titan for bonus Health and Magick plus Eternity for the Death Defiance effects.
- Excellence and Divinity ensure you get higher quality Boons during your run.
- If you're willing to target 2 Curses from different Olympians, the Origination card offers a massive damage bonus!
- After that spend your remaining Grasp on additional Arcana cards, you can learn more about what each of the cards do with our dedicated guide.
Keepsakes
- Start out with the Barley Sheaf from Demeter to ensure you have reliable access to Freeze, ideally, you want this on your Special but the Cast is solid as well.
- If you want a more damage-oriented setup start with Hera's Iridescent Fan or Apollo's Purest Hope.
- Vivid Sea from Poseidon is your best bet for a second Olympian as he enables Tidal Ring for additional burst, but if you're playing on lower difficulties go for one of the utility options below instead.
- The Transcendent Embryo from Chaos, Concave Stone from Echo, Moon Beam from Selene and Blackened Fleece from Medea are all good Keepsakes to use when you don't need the favor of a specific Olympian.
- For the final zone, use Hecate's Silver Wheel to maximize your ability to fire Omega Moves at the boss.
- Knuckle Bones from Odysseus gives you a damage reduction and reduces the final boss's health.
- Alternatively, use Skelly's Luckier Tooth for an additional Death Defiance.

Boons and Upgrades
You can play Aspect of Momus with a variety of Boons, but this build focuses on crowd controlling enemies with Demeter and then washing them away with Poseidon. Therefore, Ice Flourish from Demeter is the best balance of damage and crowd control. You easily Freeze foes then blast them away. If you get Freeze on a different Move, use Aphrodite, Apollo, or Hera for damage.
Daedalus Upgrades and Other Boons
Your other key upgrade comes from the Hammer of Daedalus. Dual Moonshot doubles your damage but limits the range of your Special. Each repeat from Momus is doubled by this boon leading to incredible burst damage. This takes the fire-and-forget nature of the build up to the next level. If you can't find this, Shimmering Moonshot or Giga Moonburst are great alternatives.
Tidal Ring from Poseidon provides an instant burst of damage when you use your Cast, try to get Slip to enable Origination. It's not mandatory for the build but greatly increases your burst potential. If you don't find a high rarity version of this boon, you can get a utility effect from Demeter and take a damage special. Hera's Engagement Ring is another great alternative as you can use Hitch to AoE enemies down more efficiently.
Additional Boons
In addition to the recommended Boons, here are a few things to keep an eye out for when playing Aspect of Momus.
- Flutter Flourish from Aphrodite provides a huge burst of damage for your Special and Omega Special.
- Aphrodite's Rapture Ring groups enemies for your Omega Special.
- Controlled Burn from Hestia adds a large burst of damage when you use your Omega Special.
- Fluid Gain from Poseidon provides a reliable way to get your Magick back.
- Most of Demeter and Poseidon's Boons have the Water Element, making it easy to activate the infusion effect for Water Fitness and gain Max Life.
- Frigid Sprint from Demeter slows enemies while making it easier to avoid their projectiles.
- When courting Aphrodite's Boons, keep an eye out for Life Affirmation to increase your Max Life.
- A Flourish Boon from Chaos to further boost the damage of your Special and Omega Special.
- Saved Breath from Hermes greatly reduces the Magick you spend on your Omega Cast.
- Try to get a second Boon which inflicts a Curse like Scorch, Hitch, or Slip to activate the damage bonus from Origination if you selected this as one of your Arana.

Playstyle
Your goal in any encounter is to drop your Omega Special and your Omega Cast or Attack to delete foes. If you're using Dual Moonshot, remain close to your target for optimal damage. Because the core of this build doesn't rely on Omega Moves you remain highly mobile, even on Chronos. Rotating between your Omega Special and Omega Cast usually yields the highest DPS but if you get a good Attack Boon or hammer you can use that in place of the Omega Cast.
- If you have Freeze on your Omega Special, use it as your opener. Otherwise, lead with your Attack or Omega Cast to Freeze enemies then use the Omega Special.
- A fully charged Omega Special does massive damage to bosses, even without Double Moonshot. It cuts through normal enemies as well, but for larger groups, the wider AoE from your Omega Cast is better.
- Dropping your Omega Cast for damage, and then using your Omega Special is optimal for damage, but your Cast (regular or Omega) is also a powerful tool for Crowd Control against Armored targets, don't forget to use it defensively!
- Still struggling? Your Special is very fast and hits hard once you have a good Boon, spam it from your maximum range!
- You don't Attack much with this build, but you can always use your Attack to apply Curses like Hitch, Scorch, Blitz, or Freeze.
- Phase Shift is a great Hex that allows you to drop the Silver Wheel Keepsake while still using a time slow. Look for this with a Half or Full Moon offering so that you get additional points to use on the Path of Stars.
- This build provides a lot of damage and has a lot of safety, but the playstyle is a bit slow with a lot of channeling time so you shouldn't use this for runs with the Vow of Desperation.
Bosses
Chronos in particular is a bit tricky unless you can slow time against him (unlocked via the Temporal Fluctuation Incantation). While you're progressing, make use of the damage from your regular Cast and Special to deal chip damage. Only use an Omega Special when you have time and if you see him attacking, fire it and dodge!
When fighting in the Overworld, this build dominates due to the ability to Freeze enemies or immobilize them with a Cast then blast them with Omega Special damage. Poseidon's Boons aren't as useful here, so consider targeting Hestia instead. She offers a solid Cast, and her Sprint completely negates Eris, the boss from the second region and makes it easier to activate Origination. On Prometheus, your goal is to stand back and play safe. Use repeats from your Omega Skills to damage him and stay far away to avoid his numerous AoE attacks. If you're struggling to land Omega Skills, spam your Special, it's fast and hits hard.

Summary
Use the Aspect of Momus to boost your Omega Special power and safely melt foes with a barrage of projectiles. This Aspect doesn't require specific boons but scales incredibly well with Demeter's Ice Flourish and the Dual Moonshot Daedalus upgrade. Use Keepsakes to encounter Demeter and Poseidon while activating Arcana Cards to provide health, damage and utility. This build offers prodigious single target damage completely obliterating boss phases in a few Omega Moves.
