Argent Skull, Aspect of Persephone Build Guide

The Argent Skull, Revaal with the Aspect of Persephone really leans into the invulnerability provided by your Omega Special. This extremely mobile build focuses on using your Colossus Driver Special to deal damage while your Cast charges your Omega Special, then unleashing a massive burst of damage. Aphrodite's Flutter Flourish offers damage against close range foes, which synergizes well with the defensive nature of this build. There are many ways to build, the Argent Skull, Revaal so feel free to experiment with different Arcana, Boons, and Keepsakes!

Weapon Aspect

Aspect of Persephone enables you to build Glory with your Cast then, extends the duration of your Omega Special. During this time it continues to fire side projectiles and provides additional iframes. This particular setup is easy to play and offers a lot of safety but requires the Colossus Driver Daedalus Hammer upgrade to function properly.

The Aspect also enhances your other Omega Moves, so throwing out the occasional Omega Attack or Omega Cast helps to add chip damage to bosses.

Arcana, Keepsakes and Familiar

Before you set out each night, you need to choose your active Arcana, Keepsakes, and Familiar. Which Familiar you use is up to you, but Frinos is a great choice for beginners due to the extra health and ability to block enemy projectiles. You have the option to switch up Keepsakes between each region but the remaining choices are fixed for the entire run.

Arcana

The following Arcana are particularly impactful for this build.

• As most of your damage comes from dropping your Cast and then using an Omega Special, The Sorceress and The Furies are high impact Arcana cards with low Grasp costs. The Unseen is also crucial so you have a way to restore your Magick and continually use your Omega Special.
• You also want The Titan for bonus Health and Magick plus Eternity for the Death Defiance effects.
• Excellence and Divinity ensure you get higher quality Boons during your run.
• After that spend your remaining Grasp on additional Arcana cards, you can learn more about what each of the cards do with our dedicated guide.

Keepsakes

• Start out with the Beautiful Mirror from Aphrodite to ensure you have access to Flutter Flourish.
• Alternatively, you can use Iridescent Fan from Hera for more AoE (area of effect) in exchange for lower single target damage.
• The Transcendent Embryo from Chaos, Concave Stone from Echo, Moon Beam from Selene and Blackened Fleece from Medea are all good Keepsakes to use when you don't need the favor of a specific Olympian.
• For the final zone, Knuckle Bones from Odysseus gives you a damage reduction and reduces the final boss's health.
  • Hecate's Silver Wheel makes it much easier to use your Omega Moves as it slows bosses!
  • Alternatively, use Skelly's Luckier Tooth for an additional Death Defiance.

Boons and Upgrades

You can play Aspect of Persephone with a variety of Boons, but this build focuses on using Flutter Flourish from Aphrodite to deal massive damage at close range. Because Revaal's Special charges you into foes, the bonus is always active. This pairs well with Daedalus upgrades that boost your base damage and scales incredibly well with levels from a Pom of Power.

Sworn Flourish from Hera, Nova Flourish from Apollo and Ice Flourish from Demeter are alternatives, they provide more utility and clear speed in exchange for significantly lower damage on bosses.

Daedalus Upgrade

This setup revolves around the Daedalus Hammer upgrade, Colossus Driver to massively boost your Specials. You go from base 25 power, to 55 which is then multiplied by your increases. This also reduces the damage you take by 30% while using your Specials. This also applies to your Omega Special, not that you need the defenses! Getting a specific Daedalus Hammer upgrade is a bit tricky, without Colossus Driver your Omega Specials remain an effective tool but your regular Specials are much weaker.

If you're looking for some alternatives; Twisting Crash significantly enhances your Omega Special damage, Mega Driver boosts Specials by +50%, and Sudden Driver makes it easier to fire off your Specials.

Additional Boons

In addition to the recommended Boons, here are a few things to keep an eye out for when playing Aspect of Persephone.

• Volcanic Strike from Hephaestus is a great way to deal additional damage and break enemy Armor from a distance.
• If you use Volcanic Strike, be sure to also grab Furnace Blast to inflict Vent, a Curse effect that inflicts additional damage.
• Demeter's Arctic Ring Freezes enemies instantly when you drop your Cast making it easier to damage foes while charging up your Glory.
• Gale Force from Demeter creates a Cyclone on your Cast which slows enemies and their Projectiles.
• Aphrodite's Glamour Gain adds another defensive layer by Weakening foes while giving you a steady trickle of Magick.
  • The Weakness curse can be further enhanced with Broken Resolve or Sweet Surrender.
• Life Affirmation from Aphrodite scales your health pool by making Centaur Hearts and other health gain effects more potent.
• Swift Flourish from Hermes increases your Special Speed making it easy to land on enemies.
• Poseidon is a powerful God with good supporting Boons, Island Getaway, his duo boon with Aphrodite is especially powerful because it gives 15% Damage Resistance and permanently treats all foes as nearby!

Playstyle

Open with your Cast to start building Glory then spam Specials to take care of smaller foes. Against the larger surviving enemies, unleash your Omega Special for massive damage, or use it defensively when you need the iframes! If a foe is dangerous, use the time slow from Hecate's Silver Wheel to spam your Omega Special and prevent damage.

• When you have a defensive Cast, such as Demeter's Arctic Ring you can play very aggressively against normal foes. Your Special has a lot of mobility, but this can be a double edged sword when used incorrectly.
• Use your Special to avoid damage by charging through foes, but don't charge into their attacks! Remember, you have iframes during your Omega Special, but NOT during your regular Special.
• Swarms of enemies are more difficult to manage, in this case, you need to rely on your Cast or Omega Cast for AoE in combination with your Omega Special.
• If you have Haphaestus boons, use your Attack to break enemy Armor from a distance before charging in for the kill. You should be doing this against bosses as well.
• Against bosses, your Omega Special is going to carry, especially as you build Glory, and can extend the iframes to deal damage without risking any retaliation.

Bosses

Chronos in particular is a bit tricky unless you can slow time against him (unlocked via the Temporal Fluctuation Incantation). You have a lot of mobility with your Special, abuse that! Chronos has several attacks which deal damage in front of him, but relatively few techniques that deal damage behind him. Charge through the boss to maximize your damage while you charge up an Omega Special. If you can get him close to a wall it's time to unleash massive damage!

Again, continue to abuse your mobility to deal damage while avoiding boss attacks. Always remember your Omega Special gives iframes, but your regular Special does not. If you can get Eris against a wall you can melt through her health, but her mobility makes this tricky. You can make this easier by acquiring Hestia's Soot Sprint to nullify enemy projectiles. Targeting Hestia makes it much easier to enable Origination, so be sure to include it in your Arcana. Prometheus is even more dangerous than Eris and often attacks rapidly enough that you need to use your regular Special and weave things in between his moves before charging an Omega Special when you can from a safe distance.

Summary

Aspect of Persephone for Revaal, the Argent Skull has strong synergy with the Colossus Driver Daedalus Hammer upgrade. This build provides safety through the iframes your Omega Special with an extended duration. Then you obtain Flutter Flourish from Aphrodite and spam your Special to deal with any foes which stand in your path. While you need a bit of luck to put this setup together the end result is fantastic.
