Mining Station
Mining Station

There are 3 stations you interact with while leveling the Smithing profession:

Mining Station

The Ancient Mining Station is usually your first stop. The ores and stones obtained from the Mining Profession are broken down here into smaller pieces for further refinement. This station provides EXP for the Mining Profession.

Smithing Station

This station is where you go right after using the Ancient Mining Station to refine the ore pieces into specific concentrates. After using the Smelter to refine the concentrates, you return to this station to craft your final product. This station provides EXP for the Smithing Profession.

Smelter

The Smelter uses the ore concentrates and wood logs to smelt ingots, which are required to craft weapons, armor, and tools on the Smithing Station. Since this is a Passive Station, it doesn't provide EXP for any Professions.

Ferralith Ingot

Ferralith Veins

The first ore you interact with is Ferralith, this is what you use to gain your first few Smithing levels and learn subsequent recipes. Follow the steps below to unlock and make Ferralith Ingots.

  1. Find a cave with Ferralith veins and mine until you get Ferralith Ore Chunks.
  2. Go to a Mining Station to break down the Ferralith Ore Chunks into Ore Pieces.
  3. Refine the Ferralith Ore Pieces into Ore Concentrates at the Smithing Station.
  4. Smelt the Ore Concentrates into Molten Ferralith at the Smelter.
    • You additionally need Rough Wood Log Outputs for this process. To get these, chop down trees to obtain Rough Wood Trunks and process those into Rough Wood Log Outputs at the Forestry Station.
  5. Finally, turn the Molten Ferralith into Ferralith Ingots at the Smithing Station.
Unlock Cart

Before you begin refining Ferralith, you should first follow the Main Quest until you get your cart. This allows you to gather and move a large quantity of the required materials at the same time.

Plated Armor Crafting

Now that you have Ferralith Ingots, you can use them to craft Ferralith Plated armor parts. But keep in mind that armor crafted using ingots is specialized for combat only. It doesn't provide any benefits for gathering (Leather Armor) or crafting (Cloth Armor).

You can craft the following Ferralith Plated armor parts:

  • Helm
  • Armor (Chest)
  • Belt
  • Legguards
  • Boots
  • Bracers

Weapon Crafting

After crafting your first Ferralith Ingot, you unlock the blueprints to craft Ferralith weapons. This allows you to craft new weapons like Spear & Shield, Claymore, Mace, and Shortsword. When you finished crafting a new type of weapon, buy the Weapon Training manual from Ramparte's Traveler Shop so that you can use it.

Tool Crafting

Ferralith Tools
Bitcraft Smithing Tools 1024 X 693

Using Ferralith Ingots, you can craft a full set of Ferralith tools for each of the 12 professions. This is significant since these tools have higher power than the basic tools you get by completing the tutorial quest. Higher power shortens the time required to gather and craft resources.

You need the same additional materials as those needed for Ferralith weapons to craft Ferralith tools. Use the list provided in the Weapon Crafting section to get these materials.

Summary

  • Smithing in BitCraft is one of 12 professions, allowing players to craft weapons, armor, and tools.
  • Players refine and craft materials at the Ancient Mining Station, Smelter, and Smithing Station.
  • Crafting Ferralith Ingot unlocks blueprints for weapons, armor, and tools, improving combat and gathering efficiency.
