BitCraft Leatherworking Guide
Last Updated:June 20, 2025|Changelog
As one of the 12 professions, the Leatherworking profession uses the spoils obtained through the Hunting profession to refine them into fine pieces of pelts and leather in BitCraft. Furthermore, this profession allows you to create Leather Clothing, which provides benefits for gathering-related activities.
This guide for the game is based on the information available in the BitCraft Demo. As development continues, you can expect new content and balance changes. Pin BitCraft guides to stay notified of future updates.
Stations

There are 3 stations you mainly interact with while leveling the Leatherworking profession:
Hunting Station
The Hunting Station is usually your first stop after hunting a non-hostile animal. Use the Output (dropped after hunting an animal) at the Hunting Station to salvage useful materials such as meat and pelt. This station provides EXP for the Hunting Profession.
Leatherworking Station
At the Leatherworking Station, you clean the pelt obtained from the Hunting Station. After using the Tanning Tub, you return to this station to craft leather and further process it into clothing or other products. This station provides EXP for the Leatherworking Profession.
Tanning Tub
Use the Tanning Tub to tan the cleaned pelt. This step is required to craft leather and clothing at the Leatherworking Station. This is a Passive Station and doesn't provide EXP for any Professions.
To learn more about the different Stations and their purpose in BitCraft Online, check out the Professions Guide.
Rough Leather

The first pelt you interact with is the Rough Raw Pelt, which you need to gain Leatherworking levels and learn subsequent recipes. Follow the steps below to unlock and make Rough Leather.
- Hunt Sagi Birds using your hunting bow to obtain Sagi Output, a cargo-type item.
- Go to a Hunting Station to salvage the Sagi Output and obtain Rough Raw Pelt.
- Clean the pelt at the Leatherworking Station to get Rough Cleaned Pelt.
- Produce Basic Tannin at the Leatherworking Station using Rough Tree Bark and Water Buckets.
- Rough Wood Trunk (Chopping Tree) ⇾ Rough Tree Bark Output (Forestry Station)
- Empty Bucket (Carpentry Station) ⇾ Fill with water
- Use the Rough Cleaned Pelt and Basic Tannin at the Tanning Tub to create Rough Tanned Pelt.
- Finally, turn Rough Tanned Pelt into Rough Leather at the Leatherworking Station.
Before you begin hunting Sagi Birds, you should first follow the Main Quest until you get your cart. This allows you to gather and move a large quantity of the required materials at the same time.
Check out the Compendium Guide to learn about tracking and cargo-type resources.
Leather Armor Crafting

Now that you have Rough Leather, you can use it to craft Leather Clothing parts. These provide stats, such as increased gathering and movement speed, that benefit gathering activities.
You can craft the following Leather Clothing parts:
- Hat
- Shirt
- Belt
- Pants
- Boots
- Gloves
