Read our key takeaways then check out the full Patch Notes.

Key Takeaways

Here are some of the biggest changes revealed in the Clockwork Ballet Patch notes.

New Systems

  • Carino, Zealot of War
    • He has 2 gameplay modes, Mobility and Annihilation.
    • In Mobility mode Carino gets movement speed buffs from his 25 trait and does massive additional damage to non-elite enemies.
    • When you encounter an Elite or Boss, switch to Annihilation mode for maximum damage.
  • Clockwork Ballet Seasonal Mechanic
    • Encounter the Clockwork Ballet at the start of your map, choose a modifier then defeat enemies to increase your score and the loot provided by your Gears after the encounter.
    • Subsequent encounters are more difficult and also more rewarding.
    • Continue completing Clockwork Ballet encounters to challenge the Silver Danseur, a new seasonal boss!

  • Legendary Crafting Changes & Divinity Slate Rework
    • Legendary items no longer have basic affixes like Life or Resistances, instead they've been stripped down to the modifiers which make them unique.
    • In addition, Legendary Items now have up to 4 craftable affixes based on their Legendary Aptitude. 1-2 are added via Prototype crafting and the rest through Targeted Processing.
    • Divinity Slate Branding has been fully reworked, the branding limit is removed and slates now have fixed affix slots.
    • There are new ways to target Legendary nodes from a specific Talent tree on your Divinity Slates.
  • Netherrealm Trait Card Removal
    • The new Void Chart system is replacing Trait Cards.
    • Progress the Netherrealm to unlock points then use those points to customize your looting experience.
    • This allows you to target and play exactly the seasonal mechanics you choose offering more granular control than the previous Trait Card system.

Balance Changes

  • Class Balance Changes
    • The biggest winners here are Moto - Charge Calling, Rehan - Anger, Gemma - Flame of Pleasure.
    • These Hero Traits are seeing significant benefits from the main stat scaling and each got additional numerical buffs. For example, Rehan's burst now scales off of Skill Levels helping the classic Train build progress smoothly into the endgame.
    • On the other hand there's one big loser, Erika - Lightning Shadow.
    • Between her traits, relics and memories she's seeing a lot of nerfs, none of these are disastrous on an individual basis but taken in totality; they are crippling.
  • Main Stat Scaling & Attribute Affinity
    • All skills have Attribute affinities, gaining damage based on your Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence.
    • This has a huge impact on buildcrafting as Attributes are now very impactful even for non-stacking builds.
