Skills
Tempest Flurry Invoker monk takes a little while to get going. Until Act 3 there are multiple combinations to best defeat the campaign until you reach the ideal setup. The primary boss damage for this build involves rapid attacks combined with Tempest Bell placed on top of bosses.
Killing Palm and Falling Thunder make the early zones of Act 1 very easy as you can stack Power Charges to clear screens of enemies. Glacial Cascade makes the early bosses manageable with safe damage from a distance.
After defeating the Executioner, travel back to the Clearfell Encampment to receive your first Rank 5 Skill Gem, Ice Strike. This skill combined with Tempest Bell results in huge single target damage to take down the Act 1 boss.
Your first Rank 7 Gem unlocks a powerful clear skill, Storm Wave. Use this to clear the difficult Act 2 zones from a distance, whilst annihilating bosses with Tempest Flurry and Tempest Bell.
Skill Rotation
Bosses
- Always try to carry Power Charges or a stacked Charged Staff into a Boss encounter.
- If you didn't, you must generate Power Charges with Siphoning Strike. Or by freezing your Tempest Bell once unlocking Combat Frenzy.
- Generate 4 combo points with Tempest Flurry.
- Place your Tempest Bell directly underneath the boss.
- Generate 4 more combo points with Tempest Flurry.
- Place your 2nd Tempest Bell.
- Tempest Flurry until both the Tempest Bell have no hits left.
- By now the boss will almost always be dead, if not simply restart the rotation.
Zone Clear
- Defeat enemies from a distance with Storm Wave. This also has a large chance to Freeze due to Cold Infusion which can trigger Herald of Ice explosions as well as generate charges through Combat Frenzy.

- Choose I am the Blizzard…. This adds a decent amount of Cold Damage which helps to Freeze Bosses, proc Ice Bite and shatter enemies with Herald of Ice.
- I am the Thunder… grants a small amount of additional damage.
- Once you have acquired a Body Armour with at least 300 Evasion and collected 100 Spirit from the Campaign. You can respec your ascendency nodes to a more defensive setup.
- Spend all 4 points to reach …and Protect me from Harm.
- For your 3rd ascendancy re-apply I am the Blizzard….
Gearing
- By far the best way to get better gear in the campaign is to check the Vendor in Town each time you level up! As vendors change their offerings based on your level this is an excellent way to find extra upgrades.
- Prioritize +#% to Fire, Cold and Lightning Resistance as well as +# to Maximum Life on your gear.
- Always look for the best Quarterstaff base with as much DPS as possible. Preferably Physical Damage but a high Elemental DPS weapon works almost as well.
- %Physical Damage
- # to # Physical Damage added
- Attack Speed
- # to # Cold Damage added
- # to # Lightning Damage added
- # to # Fire Damage added
- Once reaching cruel difficulty, if you find a very high Physical Damage Quarterstaff, use Artificer's Orbs to add 2 additional Rune Sockets. Place 2 Iron Runes in the sockets for a large increase to the weapons Physical Damage.
- Look for added damage on Rings and Gloves as Monks low defence is very difficult to counteract, so your best option is to defeat the enemies faster.
