Two Returning Monsters Confirmed for Wilds
Two returning monsters were recently confirmed for Monster Hunter Wilds, the Yian Kut Ku, and Congalala. Each of these monsters are appearing for the first time since the fourth generation. This means they have not existed yet in modern Monster Hunter. Both monsters are relatively low level and are likely to appear around the middle or end of your early game experience.
Congalala
Congalala, the infamous fart monkey, returned in the Scarlet Forest gameplay reveal. One of the sillier monsters in the series, Congalala attacks hunters with farts and stinky breath. These attacks gain different properties depending on what mushroom Congalala eats. If it eats a parashroom, it inflicts paralysis, if it eats a toadstool, it inflicts poison, and so on. It is also a rather clumsy monster, sometimes falling over at the end of its attacks. Congalala, like Yian Kut Ku, last appeared in Generations Ultimate, though we were briefly able to see some gameplay in the Scarlet Forest gameplay reveal.

Yian Kut Ku
Yian Kut Ku appeared in the extended cut version of the release date trailer. In the past, Kut Ku has fought like a cross between a dragon and an angry chicken. This is somewhat similar to a cross between a more aggressive Kulu Ya Ku without the pick up mechanic and a Rathian for those who played World or Rise. We have not seen Kut Ku in a modern monster hunter game, so there is no way to know how similar it is to its previous iteration in Generations Ultimate. It will be exciting to see how the monster is adapted to the modern combat system!
