Hades 2 Hex Guide
Last Updated:October 20, 2024|Changelog
Each night when you interact with Selene, the moon goddess she grants you a powerful Hex. This is charged by spending Magick, once the icon fully illuminates you're ready to unleash its effects. These Hexes are not tied to a specific weapon, nor do they interact with any of the Gods.
Hades 2 is currently in early access, as development continues expect new content and balance changes. Pin the guide to be notified of future updates.
Choosing a Hex
Keep an eye out for Selene's symbol during your run, this is your opportunity to pick up a powerful Hex.
After you interact with this you can choose from 1 of 3 options. But unlike other areas of the game, these choices are not equal! The top option has the least number of bonus points available through the Path of Stars and the bottom choice has the most. In general, you should always try to choose the bottom or middle option to more easily enhance your Hex in any given run.
The Path of Stars
When you encounter Selene again, she grants you points to use in the Path of Stars. This is a series of bonuses that enhance your current Hex. The Path of Stars includes cost reduction, additional damage, or mechanical changes. The upgrades offered through the Path of Stars are randomized each run, so you can't take the same path every time. This also means you cannot count on getting a specific upgrade for your Hex, sometimes it's available, and sometimes it's not.
Here's an example of the Path of Stars, in this case for the Moon Water Hex. One of the upgrades allows you to gain +3 uses each time you use a Fountain. That way you can stack them up and save all the healing for a tough fight.
You can further enhance the Path of Stars by encountering Selene again, or by using her Moon Beam Keepsake you can guarantee more upgrades. The nodes come in 3 rarities. Common, Rare, and Epic. Common nodes offer generic effects that often repeat throughout the tree. Rare and Epic nodes offer more powerful effects and are usually unique to a given tree.
