This guide shows you the locations of Smithing Miner's Bell Bearings, used to purchase unlimited Smithing Stones from the Twin Maiden Husks. Obtaining Smithing Stones is a key part of increasing your armament damage as quickly as possible.

To upgrade, you offer Runes and Smithing Stones to Master Blacksmith Hewg at Roundtable Hold. Smithing Stones can be found in the world and dropped from some enemies, but for efficient leveling buying them is much faster. There are nine different Bell Bearings in the game, but this guide only covers the four associated with regular Smithing Stones.

Pro Tip: The other 5 Bell Bearings are tied to Somber Smithing stones, learn their locations with our guide here.

Where To Buy Smithing Stones

The Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold are who you offer the Bell Bearings. Once accepted you are then able to buy unlimited Smithing Stones given you have the Runes necessary. If you don't yet have access to Roundtable Hold, check out our guide.

Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing Locations

For your first Bell Bearing, you need to travel to the Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel (images below). It's near Liurnia of the Lakes, but you travel northeast to find it. As you get closer to a Walking Mausoleum there's a hidden cave that takes you into the Crystal Tunnel.

This is a short dungeon that has plenty of Smithing Stones for you to collect. Once you reach the boss (Crystalian) and defeat them, you get the Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing [1]. Take it to the Twin Maiden Husks and their shop now lets you buy an unlimited amount of Smithing Stone [1] and [2].

Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing [2]

To obtain the Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing [2], you need to find a small dungeon southwest of Leyndell, the Royal Capital called the Sealed Tunnel. You can get there by traveling through the blue swamp area on the Capital's outskirts heading south until you reach the dungeon entrance (images below).

Inside the Sealed Tunnel is an area with a Site of Grace, and there's a hidden path you open by striking the wall on the west side of the room. Clear the enemies in the area and open the chest to obtain the Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing [2]. Take it to the Twin Maiden Husks and their shop now lets you buy an unlimited amount of Smithing Stone [3] and [4].

Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing [3]

The Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing [3] is located in the Mountaintops of the Giants. Getting there involves some story spoilers, but we won't ruin that for you. Once there, you quickly come across the Zamor Ruins. [Map Link]

In the Ruins, head southwest until you come across a staircase leading to an underground area. Go down the stairs, open the door, and inside you find a chest with Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing [3], (images below). Take it to the Twin Maiden Husks and their shop now lets you buy an unlimited amount of Smithing Stone [5] and [6].

Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing [4]

This one takes some time as there's more story sections to make your way through. After progressing through the Mountaintops of the Giants, you find yourself at Crumbling Farum Azula. Drop down and head left until you reach the Dragon Temple Grace. [Map Link]

Here you face the Godskin Duo, which when defeated, you receive the Smithing Miner's Bell Bearing [4]. Take it to the Twin Maiden Husks and their shop now lets you buy an unlimited amount of Smithing Stone [7] and [8].

Final Upgrade Level

Upgrading a non unique armament to +25 requires an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. These are found through exploration, specific locations, enemies, given by NPCs, or sold by merchants. The quickest one to obtain is in Mountaintops of the Giants. Your first Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone is found inside the mouth of a skull southeast of the Church of Repose. Using this now completes your upgrading endeavors. [Map Link]

These stones do not have a Bell Bearing and there are 13 total to find throughout your playthrough. So don't hesitate to get your exploration on for any other weapon you want to max out in the future.

Summary

With all Bell Bearings collected, the Twin Maiden Husks allow you to purchase as many Smithing Stones as you require. This costs you Runes, but allows you to upgrade your non unique armaments for a good damage increase. The Smithing Stone purchases help keep your damage consistent for some of the tougher challenges during your journey. Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones grant that final upgrade for your non unique weapons.
