Roundtable Hold
Last Updated:May 30, 2025|Changelog
The Roundtable Hold is the central hub or lobby in Elden Ring Nightreign, where many of the game's core systems and questlines are introduced. Some of these locations are available from the moment you arrive once you've finished the tutorial, while others are unlocked as you progress through the game. As you wander the halls, you might even see some familiar faces hanging about, in the form of both NPCs and real players who have been victorious in their endeavors throughout Limveld. This Roundtable Hold guide teaches you about everything that goes on in this mysterious haven, secluded from The Lands Between.
Expeditions
Expeditions are prepped from the giant round table directly in front of you when you zone into the Roundtable Hold. Approach and interact with it to be shown the following menus:
- Target - Shows a list of all currently unlocked Nightlords that are available to track. Initially, Tricephalos is the only one to occupy this list but once you defeat it for the first time, more options unlock. When that happens, you can select one or even multiple targets from this list before confirming to commence the Expedition.
- Matchmaking Settings - This is where you can invite party members to join you and/or set a password for your instance if desired. Near the bottom, you can also change the Expedition Type to Single Player to set out on an Expedition solo.

Character Selection
In the same central room as the Roundtable, there's a bell accompanied by a statue of a knight that you can interact with to select your character. You can explore the Roundtable Hold with said character and pursue personal questlines within the Hold; this is also your default when you choose to embark on an Expedition. When you first begin your journey, some characters may not be available to you until you fulfill certain requirements.

Change Garb
Toward the eastern side of the Roundtable Hold, there is a room with a fireplace that has a wardrobe and a mirror nearby. Interacting with the mirror allows you to change the appearance of your character - but not for free! By saving up your Murk, you can eventually purchase additional outfits here that you can then equip to customize your look. Additional appearances can even be unlocked by completing certain objectives, such as those available during a character's personal questline.

Relic Rites
Back at the Roundtable again, there's an altar nearby with some blue-flamed candles sitting on top of it. Interacting with this lets you perform Relic Rites to equip said Relics. What are Relics exactly? Well, you see, they are these colorful objects that come in many different shapes and sizes that give your character passive effects that you take with you on Expeditions. These effects can be anything from increasing a certain attribute, improved attack power with a specific affinity or weapon type, or even character-specific enhancements that can completely change how you play. In Elden Ring Nightreign, this is where a lot of the grind comes into play, since you will spend many hours completing Expeditions and collecting Relics from them to make your characters the best versions of themselves. Oh, and they are also almost entirely generated at random, so happy hunting!
On the Relic Rites screen, you can view or change the Vessel where each character can slot their Relics; each character starts with one preset, but more can be unlocked as you progress through the game. Grails are all assigned certain colors per slot, up to 3, and a Relic can only be inserted into a slot that matches its color. When a slot is selected, you can view and then choose a Relic that is currently in your possession to be inserted into your Grail to passively benefit from its effects.

Journal
Southeast of the Roundtable and up a small set of stairs, you can find a Journal sitting on a table next to a lit candle. Opening the Journal allows you to investigate each character's unique questline, which is called a Remembrance. These Remembrances are split into chapters, and in general, more chapters unlock as you defeat Nightlords and progress through the game with the associated character. The storylines attached to Remembrances are quite personal, and they allow you to unravel some of the mystery surrounding each of the Nightfarers.

Small Jar Bazaar
At the end of the hall on the west side of the Roundtable Hold, there's a Living Jar merchant sitting on a chest. This is where you can exchange your hard-earned Murk for Goblets/Grails (as mentioned in the Relic Rites section), Gestures, Prattling Pates, and an assortment of Relics with pre-determined stats. The selection here becomes more varied the more you progress through the game. You can also purchase an infinite amount of Scenic Flatstones here, which are mystery Relics that are randomly generated. This is where you should funnel most if not all of your extra Murk, as it is the best way to quickly stockpile Relics.
Garden
The Garden is... well... a garden. It's a place you might pass through while progressing a Nightfarer's Remembrance questline, or if you just want to smell the flowers. It doesn't serve any major purpose otherwise.
Shore
Similar to the Garden, the Shore doesn't serve much purpose outside of Remembrance questlines or just hanging out. Who doesn't love the beach?
Waiting Room
The Waiting Room is at the end of the east hall, just past the Iron Menial who is standing behind a table next to some barrels. Its purpose is not clear until you unlock Shifting Earth events by progressing through the game. Once that happens, one of the beds here becomes available to rest in, and doing so allows you to pass time in order to temporarily remove a certain Shifting Earth event from Expeditions that are embarked on thereafter. You can use this to your advantage if you have multiple Shifting Earth events unlocked and wish to progress toward a specific one, as only a single instance of these can exist at a time while exploring Limveld.
Sparring Grounds
Outside the walls of the Roundtable Hold to the northeast is where the Sparring Grounds can be located. This is a pretty unique area since it's the only place you can actually engage in combat, but worry not, no actual danger is found here. In this training area, you can try out pretty much any armament that exists in the game, as well as Skills, Sorceries, Incantations, and even consumables. It's the perfect place to practice your character with no repercussions, so take the time to learn your weapons, combos, and abilities and potentially save yourself some frustration during a real Expedition. You can even change certain parameters, such as character level or the rate at which you deplete your Ultimate Art gauge. Aside from the target dummies that are just standing there (menacingly), there's also one located near the stone walls that fights back, should you choose to animate it.

Summary
The Roundtable Hold is the zone you see the most throughout your playthrough of Elden Ring Nightreign, as it serves as the central hub area where many of the game's essential operations take place. Familiarize yourself with all the locations (which, aside from manual transport, can be accessed via the main menu), and visit them often in order to make the most of your many Expeditions throughout Limveld.
