Orpheus Rig Void Hunter Build

Revenant

Last Updated:October 10, 2024|Changelog

Welcome to the Orpheus Rig Void Hunter Build! This build allows you to generate your Super very quickly, ensuring constant battlefield control and breathing room for your fireteam. This Super, Shadowshot: Deadfall, applies Suppression and Weaken—a 30% global debuff to enemies for you and your fireteam!

The Void Hunter subclass is versatile, providing both strong solo potential and exceptional team support. Whether you're diving into a Raid, Nightfall, or any endgame activity, this build seamlessly integrates into any fireteam.

The core of this Void Hunter build revolves around the Exotic Boots Orpheus Rig. This exotic provides Super energy for each target tethered by Shadowshot: Deadfall, allowing you to recharge up to half of your maximum Super energy with a well-placed tether. In addition, Orpheus Rig grants a portion of your melee, class ability, and grenade energy if they aren't already at full capacity. This ability refund mechanic is crucial for maintaining the high-frequency ability spam that defines this playstyle.

Pros
  • High ability uptime.
  • Good crowd control.
  • Tether provides global debuff.
  • Easy overshields and invisibility.
Cons
  • Requires higher ad density.
  • Super is not a high damage Super.

Gameplay Loop

The gameplay loop ensures constant ability usage, frequent Invisibility, and continuous Shadowshot: Deadfall regeneration, making Orpheus Rig one of the most effective Void Hunter builds for crowd control.

  1. Dodge to go Invisible - Stealth your way toward a group of enemies undetected.
  2. Jump above the enemies and use your melee to trigger Trapper's Ambush - This creates a large smoke cloud on impact, Weakening enemies in range. Smaller red-bar enemies are likely to die from the smoke damage, while the rest are Weakened, taking 15% more damage. This is a lower debuff value than your Super's Weaken, but it's still very useful. Check out our Elemental Mechanics Guide for more information.
  3. Dodge to collect Orbs of Power with Powerful Attraction and trigger Reaper to generate more Orbs of Power for you and your team.
  4. Throw your Vortex Grenade - Use it on groups of enemies to Weaken them. Grenade kills grant Volatile Rounds to your Void weapons, causing enemies to explode upon taking further damage.
  5. Use Shadowshot: Deadfall on groups of ads - This Weakens and Suppresses enemies, creating easy targets for your fireteam. Defeating tethered targets can return up to 50% Super energy thanks to Orpheus Rig.

Ability Breakdown

Super

  • Shadowshot: Deadfall
    • This Super tethers all enemies within 12.5 meters. While tethered, enemies are Suppression and Weakened—applying a 30% global debuff to enemies for you and your fireteam! Tethered enemies also share 50% of damage taken. The tether itself lasts 12 seconds, but you can increase its longevity by killing enemies in the tether (0.5 seconds per enemy up to a max of 25 seconds).

Abilities

  • Gambler's Dodge - This dodge immediately refunds your Snare Bomb.
  • Triple Jump - Triple jump is nice, but use whichever jump feels best to you.
  • Snare Bomb - Instead of using this melee directly, perform a Trapper's Ambush to instantly Weaken enemies in the area and grant Invisibility to yourself and any allies within range.
  • Vortex Grenade - This grenade pulls targets inward and continually damages enemies trapped within the vortex.

Casting an ability or shooting a weapon removes your invisibility before the timer is up!

Aspects

  • Trapper's Ambush - consumes your Snare Bomb to make you and nearby allies Invisible, while Weakening nearby enemies.
  • Vanishing Step - dodge to go Invisible.

Both of these aspects offer as-needed invisibility - vanishing step is a dodge, and trapper's ambush is a quickfall dive (the in-game subclass menu tells you which button you have these bound to).

Fragments

  • Echo of Harvest - defeat Weakened targets to create Orbs of Power and spawn a Void Breach. Picking up Orbs grants Super energy, and Void Breaches grant dodge energy.
  • Echo of Starvation - picking up an Orb of Power or a Void Breach grants you Devour. Final blows restore health, grant grenade energy, and extend the duration of Devour.
  • Echo of Vigilance - Defeating a target while your shields are depleted grants you a temporary Overshield, saving you in critical situations.
  • Echo of Instability - Defeating targets with grenades grants Volatile Rounds to your Void weapons.

Kinetic Slot: Witherhoard - Blighted targets take damage over time, and their deaths create a lingering blight field that damages nearby enemies. This weapon excels at area control and sustained damage and is particularly effective against enemies grouped up by Shadowshot: Deadfall.

Energy Slot: The Recluse with Threat Detector and Surrounded is an excellent perk combo for close-quarters combat. This Void Submachine gun shines in situations where you need to clear ads quickly, especially when surrounded, where it gains a 40% damage boost.

Power Slot: Edge Transit crafted with Envious Assassin and Bait and Switch is an outstanding Legendary Void weapon for boss damage. Combining these perks allows for impressive damage output when switching between your equipped weapons.
