Endless Tower Strategy Guide

Last Updated:May 14, 2025|Changelog

One of the greatest challenges in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is conquering all 33 floors of the Endless Tower. You face off against hordes of Nevrons and some of the game's deadliest bosses to earn Pictos, upgrade materials, and cosmetics. Use this Endless Tower Strategy guide to learn about different enemies and how to defeat them.

Floor 1

Endless Tower

The endless tower's first floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons, culminating in a rematch against the Dualliste boss.

Stage 1 Trial 1

Enemies: Gault, Luster, Ramasseur

  • Watch out for the Ramasseur's Gradient Attacks, announced by a warning of a mortal blow.
  • The Luster attacks quickly and can use a frenzy attack, where it rapidly dashes between multiple party members.
  • Don't use Earth skills on the Gault as it absorbs them.

Stage 1 Trial 2

Enemies: Potier, Steel Chevaliere, Greatsword Cultist

  • Kill the Steel Chevaliere first, as it deals high damage with difficult parry/dodge timings. Physical damage is an effective way to take it out.
  • The Potier is flying, but can easily be dealt with using Free Aim Shots.
  • Lastly, the Greatsword Cultist has higher defenses due to the self-shield mechanic, use anti-shield skills like Breaking Rules or Chevalière Piercing.

Stage 1 Trial 3

Enemies: Troubador, Dualliste (boss), Luster

  • Kill the Troubador first to prevent it from buffing the boss.
  • After that, focus your efforts on the Dualliste if you're confident in your ability to parry the Luster or clean the weaker foe up first to get it out of the way.
  • Light damage is highly effective on this stage, and Fire/Dark damage is ineffective.
  • KEY LOOT: Greater Defenceless

Floor 2

Endless Tower

The endless tower's second floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons, culminating in a rematch against the Lampmaster boss.

Stage 2 Trial 1

Enemies: Demineur, Benisseur, Volester

  • Shoot the Demineur's Mine to damage all 3 enemies at the start of the fight. Then use Free Aim Shots to take out both it and the Volester, as these flying foes dodge most skills and attacks.
  • The Benisseur has several attacks with difficult parry timings. Shoot the spheres, it summons.
  • Ice damage is effective in this trial.

Stage 2 Trial 2

Enemies: Reaper Cultist, Chapelier, Ballet

  • The enemies in this trial are weak to Dark damage.
  • Use your Free Aim Shot and counterattack to deal with these flying foes.
  • When dealing with the Reaper Cultist, be mindful of shooting the orbs. While these do extra damage, they apply shields to allies.
  • Kill the Chapelier last; it exhausts your party on death, preventing you from gaining AP.

Stage 2 Trial 3

Enemies: Potier, Lampmaster (Boss), Echassier

  • Start by cleaning up the Potier, then the Echassier as these enemies can cause a significant problem while you're facing off against the boss.
  • Shoot the 4 floating lamps to make the Lampmaster encounter easier. If you don't, it releases a volley of flaming projectiles after each attack sequence.
  • KEY LOOT: Energising Rush

Floor 3

Endless Tower

The endless tower's third floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons and bosses, culminating in a rematch against Goblu and a Chromatic Abbest.

Stage 3 Trial 1

Enemies: Gault, Hexga, Cruler

  • Both the Hexga and Cruler begin shielded and have the ability to shield allies. Anti-shield skills like Breaking Rules and Chevalière Piercing are great for this stage.
  • After breaking its shields, shoot the weak point on the Crueler's arm or shoulder.
  • The Gault is not a big threat in this fight, but it should be killed first so that it cannot gain shields from the other 2 enemies.

Stage 3 Trial 2

Enemies: Bouchelier, Chromatic Benisseur (Boss), Clair

  • The Bouchelier begins shielded and has the ability to counterattack if you attack its allies. If you're good at countering, use this to get free damage by attacking other foes, otherwise take this Nevron out first.
  • Clair nullifies Light damage meaning you must use other damage types to defeat it.
  • The Benisseur has several attacks with difficult parry timings. Shoot the spheres, it summons.

Stage 3 Trial 3

Enemies: Troubador, Goblu (Boss), Chromatic Abbest (Boss)

  • Kill the Troubador first to prevent it from buffing the bosses.
  • Just like in the story version of this fight, Goblu summons flowers at lower health. Shoot them to deny the boss bonuses.
  • Shoot the Abbest's weak spot (the glowing point on its head) to take out a huge chunk of its health.
  • Light damage is useful for this stage.

Floor 4

Endless Tower

The endless tower's fourth floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons and bosses, culminating in a battle against the Chromatic Echassier boss.

Stage 4 Trial 1

Enemies: Cruler, Chromatic Orphelin (Boss), Ceramic Chevaliere

  • The Ceramic Chevaliere has high damage output, but the Cruler can shield allies, making both of these good first targets, depending on whether you can parry the Chevaliere's attacks or not.
  • After breaking its shields, shoot the weak point on the Crueler's arm or shoulder.
  • Practice parrying the Chromatic Orphelin to get in additional damage.

Stage 4 Trial 2

Enemies: Jar, Bourgeon (Boss), Rocher

  • The Bourgeon is a huge threat because it eats your allies, reducing the party size. Fill its break bar then break it to cause it to spit out the party members it ate.
  • While the Jar and Rocher aren't especially dangerous enemies, you should AoE them down or deal with them early so that you're not caught in a bad position after the Bourgeon eats a key party member.

Stage 4 Trial 3

Enemies: Moissonneuse, Chromatic Echassier (Boss), Catapult Sakapatate

  • The enemies on this stage are weak to fire damage, so as they say... kill it with fire!
  • Target the Moissonneuse, this enemy is squishy and easy to take out first.
  • You can break the Catapult Sakapatate to disable its ranged attack, but keep in mind the melee attack is tricky to parry and you still need to avoid the self-destruct after killing it.
  • Shoot the glowing orb above the Chromatic Echassier's head to break it. This takes quite a few shots.
  • KEY LOOT: Time Tint

Floor 5

Endless Tower

The endless tower's fifth floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons and bosses, culminating in a battle against the Chromatic Troubador and Chromatic Abberation.

Stage 5 Trial 1

Enemies: Bruler, Chromatic Veilleur (Boss), Orphelin

  • After you break the Bruler's weak point, it should be easy to dispatch.
  • Shoot the Chromatic Veilleur's lamp to make it a bit easier to deal with. This foe is especially dangerous because it can stack Blight on your party, reducing their maximum health. Use Lightning damage to take it out faster.
  • If you can dodge or parry the Orphelin, it's best to ignore it until the Chromatic Veilleur is dealt with.

Stage 5 Trial 2

Enemies: Sapling, Chromatic Greatsword Cultist (Boss), Orphelin

  • Take the Sapling out first to prevent it from buffing/debuffing.
  • The Chromatic Greatsword Cultist continually shields itself, use anti-shield skills like Breaking Rules or Chevalière Piercing to deal with this.
  • If you can dodge or parry the Orphelin, it's best to ignore it until the Chromatic Greatsword Cultist is dealt with.

Stage 5 Trial 3

Enemies: Chromatic Troubador (Boss), Chromatic Aberration (Boss), Orphelin

  • The Chromatic foes are resistant to Dark damage, making that damage type a poor choice for this floor.
  • Shoot the Troubador's eye to break its weak point, making this foe a bit easier to dispatch.
  • If you can dodge or parry the Orphelin, it's best to ignore it until the Chromatic foes are dealt with.
  • KEY LOOT: Charging Critical

Floor 6

Endless Tower

The endless tower's sixth floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons and bosses, culminating in a rematch against the Gargant boss.

Stage 6 Trial 1

Enemies: Danseuse, Stalact, Portier

  • Shoot the Portier's weak point, the glowing sphere at the creature's center.
  • Both the Danseuse and the Stalact change their stance reactively. In Fire Stance, they are weak to Ice damage and absorb Fire damage, whereas in Ice Stance, they absorb Ice damage and are weak to Fire damage.
    • The Danseuse switches between stances after attacking.
    • When hit with the element it's weak to, the Stalact switches its stance at the end of the turn.

Stage 6 Trial 2

Enemies: Pelerin, Chromatic Braseleur (Boss), Glaise

  • Glaise absorbs Earth damage.
  • The Pelerin can heal foes; take it out first.
  • Both the Chromatic Braseleur and the Pelerin change their stance reactively. In Fire Stance, they are weak to Ice damage and absorb Fire damage, whereas in Ice Stance, they absorb Ice damage and are weak to Fire damage.
    • When hit with the element they're weak to, they change their stance at the end of the turn.
  • If the Chromatic Braseleur summons orbs you can deal with them using Free Aim Shots.

Stage 6 Trial 3

Enemies: Noire, Gargant (Boss), Portier

  • Shoot the Portier's weak point, the glowing sphere at the creature's center.
  • Take the Noire out quickly, as it can cast the dangerous Berserk buff.
  • The Gargant changes its stance reactively. In Fire Stance, it is weak to Ice damage and absorbs Fire damage, whereas in Ice Stance, it absorbs Ice damage and is weak to Fire damage.
    • When hit with the element it's weak to, the Gargant changes its stance at the end of the turn.
  • As its health gets lower, the Gargant begins freezing allies. Use the Anti-Freeze Pictos/Lumina, dodge the spell, or time your parry correctly to deal additional damage.
  • KEY LOOT: Critical Weakness

Floor 7

Endless Tower

The endless tower's seventh floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons and bosses, culminating in a rematch against the Ultimate Sakapatate boss.

Stage 7 Trial 1

Enemies: Pelerin, Flame Eveque (Boss), Danseuse

  • Fire damage is not advised for this stage as the boss absorbs it, and half the time, the other 2 enemies are immune.
  • Target the Pelerin first, as it can heal the other enemies.
  • Both the Danseuse and the Pelerin change their stance reactively. In Fire Stance, they are weak to Ice damage and absorb Fire damage, whereas in Ice Stance, they absorb Ice damage and are weak to Fire damage.
    • The Danseuse switches between stances after attacking.
    • When hit with the element it's weak to, the Pelerin switches its stance at the end of the turn.
  • The Flame Eveque has a similar move set to the game's first boss but with a couple of new skills. Pay attention to the sound cues on its AoE moves as opposed to just watching the visual.
  • This is a tough fight, and from here on out, it only gets harder for the remaining floors.

Stage 7 Trial 2

Enemies: Chromatic Bruler (Boss), Chromatic Gold Chevaliere (Boss), Aberration

  • Shoot the sphere in the Chromatic Bruler's head to leave it vulnerable. This large Nevron has a pretty relentless series of attacks, but mostly repeats the same thing over and over, making it easy once you get the pattern down.
  • On the other hand, the Chromatic Gold Chevalier deals AoE damage and has two very difficult attack patterns.
    • When the boss attacks using Fire, expect a relentless series of back-to-back strikes ending in a delayed slash that hits hard. The parry window is very tight on these, meaning that if you mistime a parry, you're likely to miss a second parry.
    • The Ice sequence is much more rhythmic as the boss slashes from side to side before ending with some delayed attacks.

Stage 7 Trial 3

Enemies: Danseuse, Ultimate Sakapatate (Boss), Chromatic Luster

  • Stun the Ultimate Sakapate to reveal the weak point on its shield arm. Shoot the weak point to remove its shield, making the boss much easier to take down.
  • The Danseuse changes its stance reactively after attacking.
    • In Fire Stance, it is weak to Ice damage and absorbs Fire damage, whereas in Ice Stance, it absorbs Ice damage and is weak to Fire damage.
  • While the Chromatic Luster can absorb fire, and half the time the Danseuse absorbs it as well, the Ultimate Sakapatate is weak to fire, as is the Danseuse in its Ice Stance. Having some fire skills is helpful, but avoid healing enemies with stray attacks.
  • KEY LOOT: Fueling Break

Floor 8

Endless Tower

The endless tower's eight floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons and bosses, culminating in a battle against the Ultimate Sakapatate and Chromatic Glaise bosses.

Stage 8 Trial 1

Enemies: Troubador, Francois (Boss), Robust Sakapatate

  • Kill the Troubador first to prevent it from buffing the other enemies.
  • Francois has a tricky attack pattern for his spells, it's difficult to tell the timing based on visual cues. Listen to the sound and use that to time your dodge/parry or deal damage to him after you deal with the Troubador to take him down, as he doesn't have much health. Use anti-shield skills like Breaking Rules or Chevalière Piercing.
  • Stun the Robust Sakapate to reveal the weak point on its arm. Shoot the weak point to remove its weapon, making the fight easier.

Stage 8 Trial 2

Enemies: Chromatic Bouchelier (Boss), Chromatic Lancelier (Boss), Chapelier

  • The Chromatic Bouchelier begins shielded and has the ability to counterattack if you attack its allies. If you're good at countering, use this to get free damage by attacking other foes; otherwise, take this Nevron out first. Use anti-shield skills like Breaking Rules or Chevalière Piercing.
  • Shoot the weak point in the Chromatic Lancelier's head to greatly weaken the boss.
  • Kill the Chapelier last; it exhausts your party on death, preventing you from gaining AP.

Stage 8 Trial 3

Enemies: Obscur, Ultimate Sakapate (Boss), Chromatic Glaise (Boss)

  • Stun the Ultimate Sakapate to reveal the weak point on its shield arm. Shoot the weak point to remove its shield, making the boss much easier to take down.
  • Obscur nullifies Dark damage, and Chromatic Glaise absorbs Earth damage.
  • The Chromatic Glaise uses a spell similar to the Eveque boss. Practice dodging or parrying this to deal with the boss.
  • KEY LOOT: Empowering Tint

Floor 9

Endless Tower

The endless tower's ninth floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons and bosses, culminating in a battle against the dangerous boss trio, Frost Eveque, Flame Eveque, and Chromatic Danseuse.

Stage 9 Trial 1

Enemies: Chromatic Ballet (Boss), Chromatic Eveque (Boss), Braseleur

  • The Braseleur changes its stance reactively. In Fire Stance, it is weak to Ice damage and absorbs Fire damage, whereas in Ice Stance, it absorbs Ice damage and is weak to Fire damage.
    • When hit with the element it's weak to, the Braseleur switches its stance at the end of the turn.
    • Take this foe out first.
  • Use Free Aim Shots and counterattacks to deal with the flying Chromatic Ballet boss.
  • The Eveque has simple attack patterns, making it easy to deal with.

Stage 9 Trial 2

Enemies: Chromatic Demineur (Boss), Thunder Eveque (Boss), Stalact

  • Fire damage is absorbed by or ineffective against most of the foes in this fight.
  • Shoot the Chromatic Demineur's mine to deal bonus damage and quickly dispatch this flying boss.
  • Thunder Eveque is tanky but has simple attack patterns. Pay attention to the sound cues on its AoE moves as opposed to just watching the visual.
  • The Stalact changes its stance reactively. In Fire Stance, it is weak to Ice damage and absorbs Fire damage, whereas in Ice Stance, it absorbs Ice damage and is weak to Fire damage.
    • When hit with the element it's weak to, the Stalact switches its stance at the end of the turn.
    • Don't worry too much about the Stalact as it's way less dangerous than the other 2 foes.

Stage 9 Trial 3

Enemies: Frost Eveque (Boss), Chromatic Danseuse (Boss), Flame Eveque (Boss)

  • The Chromatic Danseuse changes its stance reactively. In Fire Stance, it is weak to Ice damage and absorbs Fire damage, whereas in Ice Stance, it absorbs Ice damage and is weak to Fire damage.
    • The Chromatic Danseuse switches between stances after attacking.
    • Kill the Chromatic Danseuse before the Eveques to prevent it from summoning clones.
  • Until you kill one of them, both Eveque bosses rotate between being immune each turn. Use your nuke skills on the boss that can be damaged. After you defeat one, the other can be damaged freely.
    • Thunder Eveque absorbs Lightning damage.
    • Flame Eveque absorbs Fire damage.
  • KEY LOOT: Rush On Powerful

Floor 10

Endless Tower

The endless tower's tenth floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons and bosses, culminating in a battle against the Chromatic Chalier and Chromatic Jar bosses.

Stage 10 Trial 1

Enemies: Clair, Chromatic Portier (Boss), Chromatic Demineur (Boss)

  • Shoot the Chromatic Demineur's mine to deal bonus damage and quickly dispatch this flying boss. As the most dangerous enemy of the 3, focus your attacks here first.
  • The Chromatic Portier can feed off the life force of your party, healing itself when you revive an ally. Try your best to avoid losing allies during this fight, or maybe leave them downed if the boss is at low health.
  • Clair Nullifies Light damage, rendering it immune to skills and attacks of this element.

Stage 10 Trial 2

Enemies: Chromatic Ceramic Chevaliere (Boss), Chromatic Gold Chevaliere (Boss), Chromatic Steel Chevaliere (Boss)

  • All 3 of these bosses have dangerous attack patterns and high damage output. This is an extremely punishing stage to clear.
  • The Chromatic Gold Chevaliere has AoE attacks, making it the most dangerous foe; kill it first before dealing with the other 2 bosses.
  • Next, take out the Chromatic Steel Chevaliere as it frequently attacks multiple party members.

Stage 10 Trial 3

Enemies: Obscur, Chromatic Chalier (Boss), Chromatic Jar (Boss)

  • Obscur nullifies Dark damage.
  • Shoot the Chromatic Jar's lantern for massive bonus damage, you can take this foe out with Free Aim Shots
  • The Chromatic Chalier begins with the Berserking buff and deals increasing damage each turn, but if you can dodge/parry its patterns, this enemy is best saved for last due to its higher health pool. If you're struggling with the patterns, focus on this and deal with the Chromatic Jar and Obscur after or use AoE damage.
  • KEY LOOT: Greater Powerful

Floor 11

Endless Tower

The endless tower's eleventh floor includes battles against a variety of Nevrons and bosses, culminating in a battle against the Paintress and Renoir.

Stage 11 Trial 1

Enemies: Dualliste (Boss), Chromatic Moissonneuse (Boss), Mask Keeper (Boss)

  • All of these bosses use a flurry of attacks, you need your dodge and parry to survive this encounter.
  • Both the Chromatic Moissonneuse and the Mask Keeper are weak to Fire/Dark damage, but the Dualliste resists these damage types, plan accordingly.
  • The Dualliste is your tankiest opponent and arguably the most dangerous, but the Mask Keeper can throw a wrench in the works if you don't take him out early on in the fight. Meanwhile, the Chromatic Moissonneuse is less of a threat.

Stage 11 Trial 2

Enemies: Lampmaster (Boss), Chromatic Clair Obscur (Boss), Creation (Boss)

  • The Lampmaster continually fires projectiles after each round. You can use Free Aim Shot to break all 4 lamps and prevent this, or use the additional attacks to fuel parries and counters.
  • Keep an eye on Chromatic Clair Obscur and Creation, both have dangerous AoE attacks that can wipe your party out if you're careless.
  • The order you take these bosses out depends on your preferences and ability to dodge, but targeting the Lampmaster first, then Creation, and finally the Chromatic Clair Obscur simplifies many things about the fight.

Stage 11 Trial 3

Enemies: Painted Love (Boss)

  • Think of this encounter as the Paintress plus Renoir combined in one battle. Renoir tends to deal more damage but the Paintress is a bit more difficult to deal with.
  • Both of these bosses share a health pool, so you can double-dip by using AoE attacks to hit both of them simultaneously. This also means it doesn't matter which of the bosses you target.
    • The bosses share health, but they track debuffs like Burn and Stuns independently.
  • If you're struggling against the boss, consider using an optimized endgame build.

Congratulations, you've cleared all 33 floors. Speak with the woman near the canvas to conclude the zone and get a few more rewards!
