Loot Filter and Filterblade Schedule Changes

Early AccessFilterBlade

Last Updated:January 7, 2025

Here's a quick update from Neversink on the changes to the release schedule of the upcoming Path of Exile 2 Loot Filter and FilterBlade! Plus some teasers for the styles, strictness, and UI read more with this update from NeverSink.

Schedule Changes

  • We’re modifying the release schedule a bit.
  • The filter itself is getting delayed by 3-5 days.
  • The FilterBlade release is happening earlier by ~1-1.5 weeks.
  • Our current target dates are 11-13th January.

Reasons for change:

  • FilterBlade itself is helping a lot, since it can simulate a lot of unique and exotic cases. So we’re releasing FilterBlade+Filter at the same time.
  • The time to test and finetune things is helping a lot to deliver a high quality filter.
  • FilterBlade development is going faster than expected so far and we didn’t encounter many issues.

Style Work + Dark Mode

We’re currently refining the default style. A lot of work goes into making everything look consistent. Font colors, map icons, sounds, hues all are undergoing reviews and refinements to create a consistent and well presented value structure.

Also new: Dark mode

The dark mode will be the first extra style supported by FilterBlade. We aim to ship it with the FilterBlade release

Dark Mode is an alternative style and ‘inverts’ many color rules in order to avoid strong backgrounds, while still delivering juicy highlights! (screenshots below). At the same time it reuses familiar colors, so switching from classic/dark is very easy for the user.

Strictness Work

The filter will come in 7 strictnesses.

The very first “highlight” strictness doesn’t hide anything so that even the most paranoid players (there’s a lot of them and to me, it’s important to not neglect their feelings) will see how all items are treated by the filter.

(the following screenshots are all in dark mode)

Higher strictnesses hide even more items!

Of course, all rules can be adjusted on FilterBlade so that the player can build their own custom strictness!

FilterBlade Progress

Progress is going well. All the technical preparations are done and we’re currently fine tuning the Customizer, LootSimulator, and Overview sections.

This means creating a well-defined structure, adding safeguards, balancing item weights, and adjusting what the user can edit. This ‘soft’ stuff just takes a bit of stuff to get done. The background will be different for FilterBlade for PoE2 and will feature a commissioned picture of a certain blind merchant from Act 2.
