Trial of the Ancestors Supporter Packs
With the Trial of the Ancestors coming to Path of Exile on August 18th, today we're looking at the 2 new Supporer Packs being added as part of the Expansion. To get this out of the way first, is there any pay to win? In Short, No. Chris Wilson has said multiple times, he wants the MTX for Path of Exile to be so interactive, and awesome that players might think they're pay to win. But everything contained in the supporter packs is cosmetic only!
Supporter Pack Versions
Trial of the Ancestors features 2 new Supporter Packs. The Shade Series which focuses on hellfire and undeath, or the Disciple Series which has a holier theme.
- Shade Supporter / Disciple Supporter costs $30 USD and includes 300 points to spend in the store.
- Haunting Shade Supporter / Ardent Disciple Supporter costs $60 USD and includes 600 points to spend in the store.
- Midnight Shade Supporter / Devoted Disciple Supporter costs $90 USD and includes 900 points to spend in the store.
Disciple Supporter Series
The Disciple Series Trial of the Ancestors Supporter Pack includes cosmetic microtransactions themed around holiness and order.

Disciple Supporter Pack
This costs $30 USD and includes the following;
- 300 Points
- Disciple Supporter Forum Title
- Disciple Portrait Frame
- Extended Digital Soundtrack Download
- Hero's Landing Unique Finisher Effect
- Belltower Map Device Decoration
With the Hero's Landing Unique Finisher, bosses you defeat are crushed by epic death-from-above style finisher. When using the Belltower Map Device Decoration, everything is fine, ignore the fire that blossoms with each portal used, you've definitely got this!
Ardent Disciple Supporter Pack
This costs $60 USD and includes the following;
- 600 Points
- All previous cosmetics
- Ardent Disciple Supporter Forum Title
- Ardent Disciple Portrait Frame
- Cathedral Armour Pack
- Observer Diamond Flask
The Cathedral Armour Pack turns your character into a walking cathedral, projecting light onto the ground around your character. As you take damage the light dims and its color becomes more ominous. On the other hand the Observer Diamond Flask summons a stationary Observer above your head who fires his laser at the foes you critically strike (this does no damage and is purely cosmetic!)
Devoted Disciple Supporter Pack
This costs $90 USD and includes the following;
- 900 Points
- All previous cosmetics
- Devoted Disciple Supporter Forum Title
- Devoted Disciple Portrait Frame
- Currency Orb Charge Effect
- Faithful Hound Pet
The Currency Orb Charge Effect makes your Power, Frenzy, Endurance (or any other) Charges look like currency orbs. But they can only mimic currency items you've used and they can mirror the appearance of Kalandra's most well known item for players lucky enough to have used one. On the other hand the Faithful Hound follows you anywhere, and should be generously rewarded with pets, treats, and belly rubs!
Shade Supporter Series
The Shade Series Trial of the Ancestors Supporter Pack contains a series of cosmetics themed around death and damnation.

Shade Supporter Pack
This costs $30 USD and includes the following;
- 300 Points
- Shade Supporter Forum Title
- Shade Portrait Frame
- Extended Digital Soundtrack Download
- Stygian Waypoint
- Sarcophagus Back Attachment
The Stygian Waypoint binds anyone unlucky enough to enter your hideout with ethereal chains. This is cosmetic only, and breaks when a player attempts to move away from your waypoint but we're sure players will find some creative uses for this waypoint involving cages, barricades, and other obstacles. On the other hand the Sarcophagus Back Attachment devours the souls of nearby monsters to attempt to escape its bonds.
Haunting Shade Supporter Pack
This costs $60 USD and includes the following;
- 600 Points
- All previous cosmetics
- Haunting Shade Supporter Forum Title
- Haunting Shade Portrait Frame
- Ferryman's Armour Pack
- Infernal Portal Effect
With the Ferryman's Armour pack, souls of the dead erupt from the ground as you walk, occasionally a tormented soul will burst free. Sadly, you cannot kill it for loot. But if you prefer taking risky portals, consider using the Infernal Portal Effect this lava themed cosmetic looks an awful lot like a portal to hell we've seen somewhere else..
Midnight Shade Supporter Pack
This costs $90 USD and includes the following;
- 900 Points
- All previous cosmetics
- Midnight Shade Supporter Forum Title
- Midnight Shade Portrait Frame
- Demonbound Crafting Bench
- Nebula Character Effect
With the Demonbound Crafting Bench, you'll be creating your items under the watchful eye of a bound monstrosity that definitely bites. Alternatively, with the Nebula Character Effect you can roleplay as a black hole, pulling items into your orbit as you Map!
