Path of Exile 2 Teaser

There's a new Path of Exile 2 teaser to go along with new information coming during the Path of Exile Affliction League Reveal!

Grinding Gear Games dropped a brand new Path of Exile 2 teaser. This time featuring a sneak peek at the Mercenary Class, shown wielding a full-auto Crossbow!

There were no Armor Piercing Bolts this time around, but the teaser does a great job of showing off how dynamic Path of Exile's combat is!

I'm not one to over-analyze 20 seconds of gameplay for hours, but a few things stood out to me here. Firstly, the Mercenary sounds pretty familiar. Karst? Rog? I can't quite place the voice, but I'm sure I've heard it before. I also love the sound design, immersion is something I value a lot and sound is a big part of that. The scene itself starts off claustrophobic, like something you'd find roaming the streets of Blighttown in Dark Souls, or Malmouth in Grim Dawn, the perfect setup for an ambush. Which leads to the fight scene, where you see the Mercenary fire his weapon while moving! Being able to attack while moving is going to go a long way to help ranged builds feel just as fluid as PoE 2's melee combat.

Path of Exile has always been one of the most innovative and ever-changing ARPGs on the market, and with Path of Exile 2, they look to be taking the genre in a slightly different direction. By treating combat less as an excuse to flex your spreadsheet knowledge, and more as an experience similar to what you'd find in an action adventure game.

For now, Passive Skill Tattoos & Trial of the Ancestors aren't being added to the core game. But most of the Trial of the Ancestors-specific Uniques are going core!

The Affliction reveal is coming soon on November 30th after which we'll have more news about buffs, nerfs and new content! Path of Exile 3.23 Affliction League, releases on December 8th on PC & Mac, then on December 13th for Xbox and PlayStation.
