Heist Essence
Last Updated:August 2, 2024|Changelog
Warning: This guide assumes you know how to farm Essence and Eldritch Altars read our linked guides to learn.
The Heist Essence Farming Strategy utilizes the power of Domination Shrines and Niko's Sulphite Buffs to allow you to complete low investment maps at incredible speeds. This is a starter strategy that can be used as soon as you have acquired 2 Void Stones on a variety of different map layouts.
- Essence drops many valuable crafting materials for self use or sale
- Heist drops contracts and blueprints that if sold effectively can be worth a fortune
Requirements
- Heist and Essence do not require anything particularly other than a build with a reasonable level of defence, recovery and single target damage.
Voidstones: 2+ |
Favourites: 6+ |
Atlas Points: 132 |
Set-Up
PRO TIP: When setting up to run this strategy it is recommended you purchase enough materials to complete a sizeable set of maps. Failing to do so makes selling drops more difficult and you'll constantly be trading to purchase additional materials instead of mapping.
Map Choice & Favorites
- Fastest T14+ Map For You - There is no best map for this strategy as it will depend on which layouts your build can clear fastest. Choose the map you run the quickest as your primary map for this strategy. This is a starter strategy so while your map of choice may be the best, any tier 14+ map will be sufficient.
- Favorites - Allocate 1 of your favorites to a map adjacent to your ideal map that you plan to run or can sell. Use the rest of your favorite map slots on your ideal map e.g. (11 ideal map, 1 Adjacent Map).
Map Device
- Eldritch Influence: Searing Exarch
- Kirac: 6 Chaos Essence - Adds 4 additional essences to your map
OR
- Kirac: 5 Chaos Heist - Adds two smugglers caches to your map
Scarabs
Use the following fragments for this strategy. You can use up to 4 Essence Scarab and Essence Scarab of Ascent which significantly increases the quality of all Essences so using one in your setup is recommended.

Atlas Passive Tree
Warning: Before you unlock at least 10 favorite slots to apply to 9 maps of your ideal layout and 1 adjacent map DO NOT allocate Singular Focus.
Passive Overview
Essence provides a constant flow of crafting materials for sale or use.
Eldritch Altars provide a constant flow of currency items.
Heist drops contracts, Rogue's Markers and blueprints that if sold effectively can be incredibly lucrative. This tree does include The Dutiful Soldier so equipping Huck with useful Gear is recommended.
Delve passives improve the clear speed of your character while enabling the purchase of resonators with gained Azurite.
Gameplay
Rolling Maps
1. Chiseling (Optional) - Use Cartographer's Chisels on all of your maps until each one is 20% quality.
2. Alchemy Orbs - Use Orbs of Alchemy on every map you have at 20% quality. Re-roll maps your character cannot run using Orb of Scouring and Orb of Alchemy.
3. Vaal Orbs (Optional) - Use Vaal Orbs on all of your appropriately rolled maps. Some maps may transform or receive new modifiers, so weed out any maps with modifiers your build cannot run or that are no longer on a favourable layout for Legion. On average using Vaal Orbs on high tiers maps is always worth it.
Running Maps
Follow these steps to complete the maps efficiently.
Step 1 - Ensure your Tier 16 map of choice is correctly rolled, your chosen scarabs set-up is in the device and you chose Essence or Heist Kirac modifier.
Step 2 - Enter the map and clear it as fast as possible prioritising moving toward shrines and sulphite nodes to scale your clear speed further.
Step 3 - Use Remnants of Corruption on all purple coloured uncorrupted essences, complete the map until less than 50 monsters are remaining if possible.
