The Woven Faction Overview

The Woven is a Faction focused on providing considerable depth to the endgame. It accomplishes this by seamlessly integrating features into existing endgame systems while also providing brand new systems and challenges. The Woven is not mutually exclusive with Item Factions or Forgotten Knights, meaning you can rank up in one of the Item Factions as well as The Woven and Forgotten Knights all at the same time. Because The Woven intertwines with every endgame system, it is the most complex faction of all, so mastering its mechanics is key to maximizing your endgame experience. Luckily, you can explore all of The Woven’s features right here!

Unlocking The Woven Faction

You can find a new type of echo in your Monolith of Fate Timelines called Cemetery, which contains special sections known as the Cemetery of the Erased. To complete the Cemetery Echo, you must find the Cemetery located somewhere within the echo, then explore it until you reach and defeat a mini-boss at the end. Once you succeed, your next portal will lead you to the Haven of Silk, which serves as the faction hub for The Woven. There, you can join the faction by speaking with Masque.

Once you've spoken to Masque, access to all of the features of The Woven are unlocked, including Faction ranks, The Weaver Tree, and Woven Echoes.

But this is only the beginning of your progression, as each one of these features provides substantial depth to the endgame. To help you maximize their benefits, we've detailed how each system works in the following sections.

Faction Ranks and Weaver Tree

Now that you've unlocked The Woven Faction, you can begin to rank up. Ranking up unlocks Weaver Tree points as well as the ability to purchase new types of Woven Echoes, which are a new kind of Echo that drops as an item and can be placed into your existing Monolith web by using an Alter to the Weaver (more on this later).

To rank up, slay enemies that have been 'touched by the Weaver' and collect their Memory Amber, a type of currency used exclusively with The Woven faction. These enemies are typically enemies who have been Possessed by spirits that were freed from Silken Cocoons or certain rare and mini bosses inside of Tombs and Cemeteries. Both collecting and spending Memory Amber increases your reputation. Along with your Faction rank, you also have access to the Weaver Tree, a powerful system that allows you to customize your endgame experience.

Earn points for your Weaver Tree by gaining The Woven Faction ranks and completing Woven Echoes for the first time. You can then use these points in the tree to unlock a wide array of benefits, including increased drop rates, increasing or decreasing how often a certain type of content spawns, and juicing existing content to be more challenging while offering greater rewards. If you don't like the choices you've made, you can respec your tree at any time by using Memory Amber.

Here are a few examples of nodes that the Weaver Tree offers:

Commoner's Riches - Place a weapon or jewelry item to imprint it in this slot to have a small chance to drop a pile of similar items when killing enemies in your regular echoes.

Anchored Reality - You gain increased bonus Timeline Stability from killing enemies in your echoes.

Eclipsed Battleground - Arena echoes no longer appear on your echo web.

Duel Destruction - Champions have a chance to appear in pairs in your echoes.

Graveyard Prisons - Your Tombs and Cemeteries have a guaranteed Rune Prison with a Possessed Exiled Mage.

Memory Amber and Woven Echoes

Memory Amber is used to purchase Woven Echoes, reroll your Idols at the Woven Enchanter, and reset your Weaver Tree. Collect it by slaying monsters that have been possessed (typically from breaking open a Silken Cocoon) and other monsters found inside the Tombs and Cemeteries.

Woven Echoes are a type of item that can be placed inside your Timeline's Echo Web to become a special type of Echo. These Echoes provide special rewards and unique challenges that otherwise would not exist inside your web. They can be collected as drops from enemies inside Cemeteries and Tombs, Echo completion rewards, and by purchasing them from Masque inside the Haven of Silk.

To place Woven Echoes inside your existing Timeline, complete a Cemetery Echo within that Timeline. At the end of the Cemetery is a device that opens your timeline map with open slots for additional Echoes from your Woven Echo inventory.

Take the chosen Woven Echo from the bottom right Inventory and place it in one of the open slots on your web. It then links to nearby Echoes, allowing you to access it once one of those Echoes is completed. The number of Woven Echoes you can place is only limited by the amount you have and the number of slots available on your Timeline.

Here are some notable types of Woven Echoes with special rewards or challenges:

  • Lostwood Folly - Drops large amounts of Memory Amber
  • The Great Bridge - Shatter Set Items here to create Shards that can be crafted onto other items, turning them into a Set Item.
  • Defiled Fortress - Completing this permanently empowers Nemesis encounters, making them more likely to create Exalted items when empowered.
  • Farsight Turtle - Allows you to reroll Unique items with at least one Legendary Potential, either increasing or decreasing its potential.
  • Confluence of Oblivion - Upon completion, increases the corruption of the current timeline to that of your current highest timeline of any character with access to the same stash as your current character.
  • Gauntlet of Strife - Reroll the properties of a Unique by sacrificing another copy of that Unique item.
  • Oerden's Watch - Allows you to swap between Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Attunement on your item.
  • Threshold of Eternity - Here you can fight Uber Aberroth.

Idol Enchanting

Idols were previously a static drop that could not be altered in any way. But with the introduction of The Woven Faction, class specific Idols can now be Enchanted to provide even more power! The process is pretty straightforward, but getting the perfect Idols takes serious investment.

Idols can only be Enchanted by completing a Tomb or Cemetery. Upon completion, you are presented with an altar. Interacting with the altar opens a UI where a Class specific Idol can be placed and Enchanted. Alternatively, if you have an Idol that is already Enchanted but you wish to replace it, you can use Memory Amber to reroll it.

Note that Tombs and Cemeteries also drop more powerful versions of non class specific Idols. They have a distinct look and name to differentiate them from standard Idols. They can't be Enchanted, but are still typically upgrades for any build that uses non class specific Idols.

Upon Enchantment, the Idol gains a single new affix from a special pool of affixes that can only be obtained through Enchanting. Along with the new affix, it also gains an amount of Weaver's Touch, which is similar to Weaver's Will but for Idols. After equipping the Idol, there's a small chance when you kill an enemy that one Weaver's Touch will be used to upgrade the Enchanted affix on the Idol. This can either result in an additional tier for that affix, or adding a second Enchanted affix. Note that you can have a maximum of two Enchanted affixes on an Idol and each affix can be a maximum of seven tiers.
