The Final Shape

Welcome to the Mantle of Battle Harmony Prismatic Warlock Guide! That's quite a mouthful, but the Prismatic subclass truly embraces the harmony between the Light and Darkness. This build focuses on building Song of Flame and Transcendence as quickly as possible. A secondary focus is holding onto your Super to give both Sunshot and Apex Predator a big damage buff.

Mantle of Battle Harmony works in two different ways. If your Super ability is not fully charged, final blows matching your Super's element grant you bonus Super ability energy regeneration. The amount gained is based on enemy rank, with the rank and file giving 1.5% and 4.5% on majors and bosses, with no cooldown between kills. However, while you're at full Super charge, this turns into a 25% damage buff increase for 11 seconds to those same weapons. The duality of this Exotic chest piece is its greatest strength.

For the rest of the build, you are bolstering your ability regeneration and survivability. Feed the Void gives Warlocks a way to regenerate their grenades very quickly while keeping them alive with one of the strongest self heals in the game. Facet of Balance charges up your Arcane Needle with every kill from Light damage, whether it be from your weapons or abilities. Your Vortex Grenade is also a dual threat, offering you either a Weaken because of Facet of Dominance, or a Stasis turret from Bleak Watcher.

Before you continue, it's worth noting that this build is not New Light friendly because of its subclass and choice of Exotic.

WARNING: The Prismatic subclass and The Call sidearm requires The Final Shape DLC to unlock. The Mantle of Battle Harmony Exotic chest piece requires the Beyond Light DLC and the Apex Predator rocket launcher requires the Forsaken DLC Pack to unlock.

  • High ability uptime.
  • Super charges very fast.
  • Multiple subclass synergy options.
  • Not New Light friendly.
  • Must match weapons to Super for full benefit.

Gameplay Loop

The aim of the Mantle of Battle Harmony Prismatic Warlock is to charge your Super and Transcendence as quickly as possible. The secondary focus is keeping your abilities charged, weakening targets and staying in the fight.

  1. Activate Devour by scoring a kill with your Vortex Grenade or Arcane Needle. This buff heals you to full on each kill, returns grenade ability energy, and fuels Facet of Sacrifice for Dark Transcendence energy.
  2. Charge your Vortex Grenade (if available) to spawn in a Stasis turret with Bleak Watcher.
  3. Continue using Arcane Needle to spread Unravel. Both this and the Slow from your Stasis turret fuel Facet of Devotion.
  4. Get kills with Sunshot to spawn Orbs of Power and to keep Devour rolling.
  5. Throw your Vortex Grenade at stockier targets to Weaken them with Facet of Dominance.
  6. When Song of Flame is fully charged, don't pop it right away. The longer you hold onto your Super ability, the longer you have the 25% damage buff to your Solar weapons.
  7. Pop Transcendence whenever it's off cooldown. This allows you to spread Unravel at a very high rate with Arcane Needle and any weapon final blows during Transcendence returns energy for your next activation.
  8. Pop Song of Flame during boss damage phases or any time you need a high rate of ad clear. Your next one charges up quickly with every Solar weapon final blow.

Ability Breakdown

  • Song of Flame
    • Casting this Super ability turns you into a roaming beacon of Solar Light. Your grenade ability becomes a small sentient phoenix that seeks out targets, creating an explosion that Scorches. Your melee ability is supercharged and sends out extra projectiles to apply even more Scorch. While active, you and nearby Guardians gain Radiant and damage resistance, yours being 90% and your allies 30%. Your abilities recharge at an extremely fast rate and when the Super ends, they are refilled completely.

  • Phoenix Dive - Jump in the air and activate your class ability. You and surrounding allies gain 2 stacks of Cure.
  • Burst Glide - Your jump ability is up to you, but the example setup uses Burst Glide.
  • Arcane Needle - This melee ability gives you three charges. Used as a way to activate Devour and apply Unravel to enemy targets.
  • Vortex Grenade - A Light damage type grenade ability that pulls enemies into its core. Use as a Weaken tool from Facet of Dominance or charge up and throw the grenade to create a Stasis turret from Bleak Watcher.

  • Feed the Void - Getting a kill with any of your available abilities activates Devour. This is your main source of grenade ability energy to keep debuffing targets with Weaken and fuels your second Aspect. Every kill while Devour is active restores your health to full and a portion of your grenade energy.
  • Bleak Watcher - With Prismatic, charge your Vortex Grenade to convert it into a sentient Stasis turret, firing projectiles that apply Slow on impact. If enough of these projectiles land, the target is Frozen.

  • Facet of Sacrifice - While Devour is active, ability final blows grant Darkness Transcendence energy. This fuels one side of your Transcendence activation.
    • This fragment gives you 10 Discipline.
  • Facet of Devotion - Defeating enemy targets afflicted with Unravel, Slow or Freeze grant bonus Light Transcendence energy fueling the other half of Transcendence.
    • This fragment gives you 10 Strength.
  • Facet of Balance - Rapidly defeating targets with any source of Light damage grants melee energy. Since Devour only helps out your Vortex Grenade, Arcane Needle gets a little love here.
  • Facet of Courage - Your Light damage abilities deal more damage to targets afflicted with Unravel, Slow or Freeze. Consider throwing down a Stasis turret or hitting a boss with Arcane Needle before popping Song of Flame.
    • This fragment gives you 10 Discipline.
  • Facet of Dominance - Your Vortex Grenade applies a Weaken debuff to enemies and Devour allows you to keep applying it whenever necessary.
    • This fragment costs you 10 Discipline.

Required Gear

Mantle of Battle Harmony - While your Super is uncharged, final blows with Solar weapons grant bonus Super energy, between 1.5% and 4.5% depending on the rank of the enemy killed. Once Song of Flame is fully charged, this turns into a 25% damage buff to your Solar weapons for 11 seconds. A dual threat Exotic, Mantle of Battle Harmony can be used with a variety of weapons and Super abilities on the Prismatic Warlock.

Substitution: Solipsism with Spirit of Harmony. See the Variants section for build recommendations.

How to acquire:

  • Decrypting Exotic engrams at Rahool if unlocked.
  • Farm the expert lost sector on chest Armor days.
  • Note: This Exotic is locked behind the Beyond Light DLC.

Stat Priorities

  • Resilience > Recovery > Discipline.
  • Resilience is always the most coveted stat when in a PVE environment. It increases your damage resistance and shield capacity. The goal is 100 Resilience.
  • Recovery governs the cooldown on the Warlocks class ability and decreases the time it takes to regenerate your health and shields.
  • Discipline decreases the cooldown on your grenade ability, allowing it to charge faster.
