How to Get Dead Energy II and Critical Burn

Gustave and Lune encounter many dangers in the Spring Meadows on their way to the indigo tree. However, hidden among the dangerous Nevrons are a few rare treasures. The Dead Energy II and Critical Burn Pictos are 2 of the strongest you can use in the early game! This guide shows you where to find them using common landmarks as a guidepost.

Head down the path.

This is one of the earliest Pictos you encounter, it's located right after the game's first Expedition Flag. After interacting with the Flag, continue down the path until you encounter a Lancelier and go through the game's First Strike tutorial. Continue straight down the path, but watch the right wall for an opening. Head into the gap to find the Picto in a dead end.

Why it's Good

The speed and critical strike chance are great early game stats. With more speed, you get more turns relative to the enemy. Critical Hits deal +50% damage, making this a powerful way to scale your DPS and trigger additional effects. Additionally, it gives 25% increased Critical Strike Chance against burning enemies. You can easily use skills like Lune's Immolation and Maelle's Spark to ignite enemies, making this a great early game damage bonus. The Lumina can be activated for 5 points.

Head through the passage.

Another great early game Pictos is Dead Energy II. You find this right before reaching the Indigo Tree, start at the Expedition Flag next to the albino Jar Nevron. Head through the rocky passage. Then take an immediate right and follow the path. You find the Pictos in some crates at the end.

Why it's Good

This isn't too useful for bosses, but it's excellent when clearing out weaker foes. You can open with a First Strike and use a combination of Free Aim Shots and skills to kill entire groups of enemies before they get a turn! The Lumina costs 3 points, so you can use it easily even with a low-level party.
