Path of Building Release for PoE2
Path of Building is a character optimization tool for Path of Exile 1, it was originally created by OpenARL. The most popular version is the Community Fork maintained by LocalIdentity and his team. On January 13th, LocalIdentity and the PoB Community Fork Team are releasing major updates for Path of Building to support Path of Exile 2. The main features include the basics of skills, passives, ascendancies, and items. In the future, expect more calculations, additional item support, and more features! Special thanks to LocalIdentity for sharing this upcoming update with us!

Here are the core features rolling out for the Path of Building release for Path of Exile 2 on January 13th, 2025.

Upcoming Features
In addition to the January 13 release, here are some more features coming to Path of Building in the future. Some of these are easier to implement, whereas others require more time or external factors.

- Weapon Set Passives, ideally this comes on Jan 13, but it may not be finished in time.
- Full support for item crafting, GGG removed mod weights from the game files so crafting emulation is more complicated.
- Support for all Uniques
- Map Mods
- Boss Skills
- Timeless Jewels
- Template Item Bases
- Viewing builds via a website similar to PoBb.in.
Keep an eye out for future updates to the Path of Building Community Fork, including the timeline for new features here on Maxroll!
New to PoB?
The Path of Building Community Fork is a tool for Path of Exile that allows you to figure out optimizations for your build. You can plan out your passive tree, see how different supports change your skills, or import a rare and expensive unique to see if the purchase is worth it!
On the left, you can find a variety of calculations, whereas on the right you get to interact with the Skill Tree and optimize your build. You can also set your Skills and Items using the tabs at the top. This is a powerful tool that has become a staple in Path of Exile build craft. Once Path of Building releases for Path of Exile 2, we expect builds as a whole to get more powerful because there are a lot of interactions that are difficult to optimize without a calculator like this.
For example, if you are playing Archmage, should you get more mana or some increased Spell Damage? You can try comparing the tooltips to get an idea, but this may not be fully accurate. As Path of Building develops a comprehensive suite of calculations you'll be able to adjust both parameters to optimize your gear! This is just one of the ways in which Path of Building helps players get the most out of their characters.
