The Archmage Spark Stormweaver electrifies the entire battlefield within seconds. Spark offers some the best clear of any skill in the game while enabling the lightning sorceress fantasy.
The power of Spark is founded upon # of projectiles, speed & duration. These 3 things allow it to hit everything on screen multiple times and also hit like a truck thanks to Archmage which gives you the opportunity to invest into mana giving damage and defense simultaneously.
Stormweaver is a perfect match for this due to Constant Gale enabling permanent arcane surge and which allows every bit of mana scaling for Archmage to also scales your recovery with Force of Will which enables you to afford the extra mana cost from Archmage & eventually grab the Mind Over Matter keystone for big defensive boost to your raw EHP. Archmage Stormweaver is the total package boiling down to one simple concept of how can I min-max into mana.

Skills
Early Access
Archmage Spark Stormweaver
Spark Shoots out 6-20 projectiles based on gem level and quality. Spark can hit additional times if you invest into skill effect duration & projectile speed while having incredible clear after grabbing the Branching Bolts passive wheel for +1 chain.
Orb of Storms is a solid damage boost for bosses. Standing inside the radius of Orb of Storms causes it to zap enemies in range every time you cast spark while also inflicting Lightning Exposure reducing the enemy's resistance.
Conductivity should be used on bosses & tanky rare monsters to boost single target.
Archmage, Cast on Shock & Blink are the primary spirit reservations of this build. Archmage you reserve on mainhand for its large damage multiplier, Blink you reserve on your weapon swap for additional movement when you need and Cast on Shock can be added to the character once you acquire 60 additional spirit for a massive damage boost via Lightning Conduit
Sigil of Power & Mana Tempest are both used when you want to get a big boost of damage. Sigil of Power can be obtained via an offhand chiming staff base and i used primarily for bossing while Mana Tempest occasionally throughout maps for fork buff or to help burst down bosses.
WARNINGMana Tempest drains your mana pool quickly so don't stand in it for too long. Only cast a few times inside the storm before moving out of it.
Skill Rotation
Single Target
Clear
Place Sigil of Power and Orb of Storms Cast Conductivity Shoot Spark till boss defeated
Casting Spark alone clears in most cases, but occasionally in more intense situations like Breachstone you may want to add in Mana Tempest for additional clear power.
Skill Leveling Priority
Passives
Early Access
Archmage Spark Stormweaver
This build offers multiple different specialized endgame variants.
Block Variation is the most tanky and requires lowest investment as rare block shields are quite affordable.
Mahu/Focus Setup is the most well rounded offering more damage than block while retained decent survivability, this is recommended with moderate investment.
Full DPS setup is for simple boss deletion, this variation is susceptible to stun/freezes which can be mitigated at very high investment with Dream Fragments & Stone Charm This is NOT recommended until much higher investments as its needlessly squishy when mahu/focus setup kills all bosses in seconds.
Adjust attributes as needed for the minimum required of strength & dexterity while putting all excess into intelligence.
The green curse points are a way of snap shotting extra curse effect for conductivity for higher damage gains, ultimately you can just spec all the weapon set passives normally and only do the extra work for setting up the weapon swap passives when you want to min-max damage output. Check out our Weapon Swap Mechanics Guide to learn more.
Ascendancy

Constant Gale enables permanent arcane surge which grants 20% more mana regeneration rate and 10% more cast speed which is just raw generic power.
Force of Will then scales your arcane surge permanent buff to the moon as you invest more into mana, this node starts out on the weaker side but becomes a power house as you get more mana.
Strike Twice is a simple damage multiplier allowing you to shock enemies a second time. Scaling shock effect ends up being quite useful via jewel affixes and tree passives.
Scouring Winds is another damage scaler giving you a way to cut down the enemy resistance well into the negatives making them quite vulnerable to your Spark damage.
Gearing

+ Gem Levels(roughly 10% more damage per)
% increased to Lightning/Spell Damage
% increased Cast Speed

% increased Critical Damage Bonus
+# to Maximum Mana
+# to Maximum Energy Shield (Every gear piece's Energy shield # affects your Mana with Eldritch Battery)

Body Armour
Total Energy Shield on Body Armour is Priority #1
+# to Intelligence helps you meet attribute requirement & excess Intelligence gives +2 Mana
Spirit is extra benefit if you can get a substantial amount it allows cast on shock addition or with just 10 you can add clarity support to archmage for more mana regen.
+% to Element Resistance is necessary throughout gearing to cap your res
click filter top right and adjust weighting to upgrade
I also recommend adjusting minimum energy shield # in filter options for upgrading
Alternatively Morior Invictus is a powerful option to be considered if trying to fit in a Cast on Shock setup due to getting high spirit & increased mana if you have those stats per soul core on the item.
Shield / Focus / Mahuxotl
Increased Bloc Chance is Mandatory Stat and is the difference between an effective block chance of 35% and 60%+
+# to Intelligence helps you meet attribute requirement & excess Intelligence gives +2 Mana
+# toStrength helps you meet attribute requirement allowing more Intelligence on the Tree
+% to Element Resistance is necessary throughout gearing to cap your res
For runes I recommend Res Cap Runes OR Soul Core of Zalatl

Jewels
Jewels are a Great way to improve your character's power level and should be improved when budget allows, 2 stat jewels are a great start on a budget but moving to 3 stat and eventually 4 useful stat jewels maximize your character's potential.

Late game options include:
Against the Darkness with %mana small / spirit or %int on notable
The Adorned with 75%+ with good magic jewels
Atlas Passives
Early Access
Archmage Spark Stormweaver
Archmage Spark Stormweaver can crush pretty much all content currently available so feel free to play whatever mechanics you enjoy the most.
The hardest content currently while mapping is Breach/Ritual at the start getting overwhelmed by mobs. To counteract this I recommend pre-firing a bit of Spark as well as setting up an Orb of Storms before starting these encounters. Its also useful to mix in Mana Tempest when there a ton of monsters on screen, just be careful of standing in it for too long.
The build can run every map mod currently in the game but some are more dangerous than others, 25% ele pen for example doubles monsters effective damage against you. Just play more cautiously when running a very dangerous map.
As for these atlas passives its recommended to prioritize way stone sustain early on which maximizes your progression towards filling out your atlas passive tree and then later on these passives can be respecced for your own personal taste once you have a healthy amount of waystones and progression completed.

FAQ
Early Access
Archmage Spark Stormweaver
What Variations on Build do you recommend?
Low budget getting started -> block variation with rare shield(make sure you have block chance on shield).
Mid/High Budget Mahu Setup with 60-70 spirit added in for Lightning conduit(Morior Invictus/rare chest + Against the Darkness spirit notable jewel)
Ultra High Budget ->Mahu Setup OR DPS setup with dream fragments for freeze and well rolled stun charm (super late game I'd find a way to make temporalis to work tbh, that movement is ridiculous)
What Item Filter?
https://github.com/cdrg/cdr-poe2filter/releases (download .filter file -> open options menu in game -> go to game tab -> click filter icon to open location of files, copy .filter file to this location -> hit the swirly arrow thing in game to reload filters and select filter from drop down)
When to Swap To Chaos Inoculation?
I did at about 3k/3k Es & Mana can probably done a little bit earlier but feel it out for yourself, you wil be trading 1k life for immunity to chaos and I would recommend doing this swap with going to Mind Over Matter at the same time
Mana Flask?
Mana Flask starts out extremely essential and becomes less important as you scale your mana higher. Ideal flask rolls are amount recovered and reduced charges used/increased total charges
Melting Maelstrom should be your ultimate endgame as it adds instantaneous full recovery of the entire mana pool, but don't get it until really min-maxing as its extremely costly.
Why 'X' vs 'Y' Ascendancy Nodes?
Constant Gale and Force of Will are mandatory components to the build, do not skip these.
Strike Twice is a great dps option but doesn't greatly outscale elemental storms until later on in character progression when instant killing bosses starts to render elemental storms value much less essential.
Scouring Winds is another solid dps option but its strictly weaker than Strike Twice
Tempest Caller helps give you better clear with satisfying swirly storms while being solid extra damage. Great early, but gets out scaled dps wise late game to shock/exposure.
Rain Dancer is a solid 4th ascendancy pick if doing elemental storms that should feel quite good for the character. But this gets out scaled by Shock/Exposure scaling for late game min-max options.
Heart of the Storm is good defensively but late game my es felt consistent with recharge enough that dropping for damage felt correct.
Heavy Snows I have not tested but currently I'd rather just kill enemy faster rather than slow enemy down. Same with Shaper of Winter
Shaper of Storms this node is irrelevant for build as the build deals mainly lightning damage already and would shock the enemy regardless.
Defining "weighting"(how much value does this stat add to the build) is about how much the build cares about specific affixes on items and then the website can display how much total value is on an item as a numerical value allowing the trade search to be limited to more powerful items.
How do you get Sigil of Power?
It is an implicit on the chiming staff base in your weapon set 2, you need to set all primary skills to weapon set 1, sigil & conductivity to weapon set 2, the game then auto swaps to cast skills, use sigil on bosses
Can I play other skills instead of spark?
Yes, tree/scaling is fairly generic and the main change you need to make is swapping proj speed/skill effect duration as well as if you choose a different elemental type than drop +lvl to lightning in exchange for +lvl to cold/fire ect. (i cannot promise other skills are as strong as spark but the base scaling should be good)
Why not Kitoko's Current?
These are solid defensively for stun but I believe in the philosophy of a dead enemy being better than a stunned enemy, early/mid game kitokos probably solid honestly if you can solve for res, but late game your dps should just be good enough you are insta wiping mobs and kitokos at that point is just a damage loss.
Why doesn't % max es increases affect my mana #?
Increases only apply to the specific stat and are not carried over when that stat is converted. Example: 1000es(100 es with 900% increased es)->converted with eldritch battery yields 100 mana as a result.
This works exactly the same for 'gain as' mechanics and is why %increases to mana don't end up giving us more energy shield from The Everlasting Gaze
How do you have Energy Shield with Eldritch Battery?
Gain / Conversion systems in poe 2 happen in separate instances so The Everlasting Gaze Gain ES is applied after eldritch battery conversion allowing us an energy shield source that won't get converted.
Randomly Dying While you still have Mana/ES?
This is most likely due to using a Mana/Life flask with the affix 'remove 15% amount recovered from life'. When you combine this flask mod with a CI build it becomes a suicide button and you die every time you activate this flask.
Getting Stun locked?
stun threshold is entirely tied to your Energy shield number and the amount of %stun threshold gained from es, you can get more of this stat from jewels as well as there are other nodes on tree I did not take, ultimately as you increase ES number stuns begin to happen less and less.
getting a Stone Charm with increased charges also helps to mitigate stuns.
What are the Green/Red Passives?
They are are "weapon set" passives which basically allow the tree to change depending on which weapon set you currently have on.
Wand and Shield is weapon set 1 with your primary damage skills and normal tree which you can just spec like normally(redpassives become the tree and ignore green passives in this case) if you don't want to optimize for this.
While weapon set 2 is your staff which has a bunch of curse nodes thus snap shotting a potent conductivity when you cast it as you have conductivity tied to weapon set 2.
How do you blink?
Set weapon set 2 to have blink reserved instead of archmage & I manually swap weapons in order to blink because blink is tied to dodge roll keybind which disallows the game to auto swap for you. This is great for crossing gaps or speeding up clear
Mana Regen is too Low, what do i do?
Mana Regen rolls on Amulet/Rings/Wand as well as there a nodes nearby on tree I don't have allocated, grab them to compensate if gear is lacking mana regen. I would also heavily recommend using inspiration support on main skill to cut mana consumption in half.
Whats on your staff offhand?
Cast speed(makes casting curse/sigil faster I believe) / All spell Skills(applies to sigil/+lightning does not) +all spell skills allows you to hit a breakpoint for sigil lvl at 21 for 1% more damage per stage
How do you solve attributes problems?
Respec Travel Nodes to meet minimum requirement for Gear/Gems
Put the rest of your attributes all into Intelligence
IF you do not have enough points with just changing travel nodes
THEN you need an attribute roll or two on your gear.
What Passive Notable to Instil on amulet?
No Dream Fragments = Icebreaker
Otherwise Here are some options:
Arcane Blossom
Frazzled
Adverse Growth
Lay Siege = only use this on block variation of build
Wild Storm
Lightning Rod = most expensive but generally strongest offensively. Keep in mind, that the better your crit scaling the worse this notable becomes.
What mods on Against the Darkness Jewel?
%increased mana per small nodes is the top stat
%int on notables is good for further mana scaling
+spirit per notable is great to add in Cast on Shock setup
Morior Invictus vs Rare ES Body?
Morior always loses on the overall ES(-400 to -1000 es) amount BUT a5 socket Morior is comparable Mana wise to around 850 es body armour, a 4 socket comparable to 750 es body armour. Morior requires more attributes but comes with some armour/evasion, a rare can come with extra res/int. Ultimately it comes down to Price, a perfect rare beats Morior but Morior is generally cheaper power for the price.
What bonuses should I choose from relics in Act 2 and venom drought in Act 3?
Relic: 15% increased Mana Recovery from Flasks
Venom Drought: 25% increased Mana Regeneration Rate
Cruel Relic: %increased charm charges gained
Cruel Venom Drought: +5 to All Attributes
NOTE: These bonuses are minor, if you picked something different for the Venom Draught, don't worry too much!
