Warning: This guide assumes you know how to farm Ultimatum, and Eldritch Altars

The Ultimatum farming strategy is an extremely difficult and rewarding endgame strategy. The goal is to produce as many Inscribed Ultimatums as possible, as these frequently provide Divine Orbs or expensive Divination Cards. It is very common for people to make bespoke builds for this Farming Strategy or to play in groups.

NOTE: In Patch 3.25 Ultimatum was adjusted so that monsters now drop loot. This guide will be updated to reflect these changes once we have tested. Use the "Pin this Page" feature to be notified of any updates.

Requirements

  • Ultimatum requires a build with a massive amount of defence or damage. Use the Ultimatum Farming Guide to check which negative affixes that can brick your map.
Voidstones: 4
Favourites: N/A
Atlas Points: 125

Set-Up

PRO TIP: When setting up to run this strategy it is recommended that you purchase enough materials to complete a sizeable set of maps, failing to do this makes selling your drops far more difficult and you'll constantly be trading to purchase additional materials.

Map Choice

  • Tier 16 Jungle Valley Map - This is the best map in the game for most farming strategies due to it's unique interaction with Eldritch Altars. You cannot receive boss altars until you enter the boss room which increases the overall "good" modifiers. This isn't essential for Ultimatum but is a small boost to your overall returns.

Map Device

  • Eldritch Influence - Eater of Worlds, be very careful which player related altars you click when using altars in this strategy.

Fragments

Below are the optimal scarabs to use for the Ultimatum Farming Strategy;

  • Ultimatum Scarab of Bribing
  • Ultimatum Scarab of Bribing
  • Ultimatum Scarab of Catalysing
  • Ultimatum Scarab of Inscription
  • Domination Scarab

Atlas Passive Tree

Ultimatum Atlas Passive Tree

Ultimatum nodes provide;

  • 100% Chance to encounter Ultimatum in your map.
  • Less chance for encounters to be "Stone Circles."
  • Chance for Rewards to be Duplicated.
  • Inscribed Ultimatums are more likely to be Currency and Divination Card rewards.

Eldritch Altars provide a constant flow of currency items.

Shrines should be clicked before doing the encounter, together with duration nodes on the tree they persist for the entire length of the Ultimatum Encounter in most cases.

Gameplay

Running Maps

Step 1 - Clear the map and spawn as many Eldritch Altars as possible.
Step 2 - Click all the available Domination Shrines.
Step 3 - Find a complete the Ultimatum Encounter.

It is very likely that you fail some of the time, this is a difficult farm with many different variables that increase the difficulty. Learn which negative affixes are most punishing for your build and avoid them as much as possible.

DO NOT BE AFRAID TO WALK AWAY WITH ANY LOOT YOU HAVE ALREADY EARNED.

Examples of negative affixes you should avoid;

  • Stalking Ruin
  • Sawblades
  • Reduced Recovery
  • Blood Altar
  • Less Cooldown Recovery
  • Treacherous Auras
  • Drought
