Breach
Last Updated:July 24, 2024|Changelog
Warning: This guide assumes you know how to farm Breach and Eldritch Altars read our linked guides to learn.
The Breach Strategy utilizes the power of Niko's Sulphite Buffs to allow you to complete Breaches quickly and effectively. This is a starter strategy that can be used as soon as you have acquired 2 Void Stones on a variety of different map layouts.
- Breach Content drops Breach Splinters, Breach Stones and The Chosen.
Requirements
- Breach requires a build that is able to slay large hoards of monsters quickly while having enough mobility to maneuver around to open Breach Hands before the mechanic ends.
Voidstones: 2+ |
Favourites: 6+ |
Atlas Points: 122 |
Set-Up
PRO TIP: When setting up to run this strategy it is recommended that you purchase enough materials to complete a sizeable set of maps, failing to do this will make selling your drops far more difficult and you'll constantly be trading to purchase additional materials.
Map Choice
- Tier 16 Dunes Map - is the best map if you possess 4 void stones as breaches rarely spawn in a bad location; Dunes also has a great layout and a short boss fight. This is a starter strategy so while Dunes may be the best, any tier 14+ open layout map will be sufficient.
- Tier 16 Jungle Valley Map - is the best map you do not have 4 void stones. It has a unique mechanic that prevents the altars from rolling modifiers that effect the map boss.
- Favourites - Allocate 1 of your favorites to a map adjacent to Dunes (if you have 4 void stones) or an open layout map suitable for your build you plan to run or can sell. Use the rest of your favorite map slots on Dunes or the open map of your choice e.g. (11 Dunes, 1 Adjacent Map).

Gameplay
Rolling Maps
1. Clean Your Maps - Ensure all of your maps are identified and then use an Orb of Scouring to make them all normal rarity, since achieving 20% quality on white maps requires significantly less Cartographer's Chisels.
2. Chiseling - Use Cartographer's Chisels on all of your maps until each one is 20% quality.
3. Alchemy Orbs - Use Orbs of Alchemy on every map you have at 20% quality. Re-roll maps your character cannot run using Orb of Scouring and Orb of Alchemy.
4. Vaal Orbs - Use Vaal Orbs on all of your appropriately rolled maps. Some maps may transform or receive new modifiers, so weed out any maps with modifiers your build cannot run or that are no longer on a favorable layout for Legion. On average using Vaal Orbs on high tiers maps is always worth it.
Running Maps
Follow these steps to complete the maps efficiently.
Step 1 - Ensure your open layout map is correctly rolled and your chosen fragment set-up is in the device.
Step 2 - Enter the map and immediately scout for Niko Sulphite and collect it while slaying monsters on the way. Alternatively if maps you end up running are larger and less compact pick up Sulphite on the way while clearing breaches to save time.
Step 3 - With your Sulphite buffs active clear all the Breaches in your map while ensuring you slay Breach Lords and open clasped hands.
Step 4 - As you finish each Breach loot the splinters you drop, do not attempt to loot them while the Breach is active.
Step 5 - Complete the entire map and all breaches to the best of your builds abilities.
